My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 292: Rising From The Ashes [Part 1]

Boris’ furious roars thundered across the battlefield.

It flew toward the Monster King with tears streaming down its face.

Despite its entire body being covered in flames, its tears left a trail in the sky, unaffected by the heat emanating from its body.

The Monster King sensed its approach and unleashed a Fire Breath in its direction.

Yet, Boris didn’t dodge.

It faced the flames head-on and continued its mad charge.

When the breath ended, Boris appeared right in front of the Bronze Dragon with its jaws wide open.

It then bit the neck of the Bronze Dragon before wrapping its flaming body around it. Soon, the two behemoths did a death roll in the sky, forcing the rest, foes and friends alike, to back away from the danger.

The Bronze Dragon bit Boris’ neck in the hopes of freeing itself from its hold.

It thought that it would be able to crush its neck and end its life once and for all.

However, Boris’ response was simple. In an instant, the flames in its body grew more intense, as if determined to burn the Bronze Dragon’s throat with its flames.

Its black flames, fueled by vengeance, burned brighter than ever, engulfing the entire Monster King’s body.

To everyone’s surprise, it was the Bronze Dragon that pulled back first. It shook its mouth wildly, as if trying to extinguish the flames that had entered its body.

It then desperately tried to push Boris away, wanting to get away from this suicidal monster that didn’t care if it lived or died.

The Monster King’s body had very high resistance to magical and physical attacks, but Boris’ black flames were special.

It was a flame that dealt spiritual damage, which burned their magical reserves, or "Mana" in this instance.

Aside from that, the damage it dealt was also considered "True Damage", bypassing any kind of defenses or resistance.

Out of desperation, the Bronze Dragon dove to the ground, intending to smash its enemy’s body to the ground.

But when they were only a few hundred meters away from the ground, Boris flapped its wings, causing its position to flip with the Monster King.

A loud boom spread across the battlefield as the Bronze Dragon and the Black Dragon crashed together.

However, since Boris was the one on top, the one that took more damage was the Monster King.

A pained cry escaped its lips as it grabbed the Black Dragon’s body. It then started a death roll on the ground, annihilating the monsters unlucky enough to be in its path.

Soon, black flames covered the surroundings, turning the battlefield into a hell-like scene.

Amidst this chaos and destruction, Hagen glanced at Leone, who was currently being protected by Kael.

He knew then and there that if he truly desired to eliminate Leone, there was no better opportunity than now.

On top of that, his Elite Warriors were also by his side. If they were to put some effort into their acting, they could perfectly make it look like an accident.

The next move felt so obvious, yet Hagen was stuck in a dilemma.

He admired Leone.

He truly did.

He even wished that he were his son.

However, he also felt that there would eventually come a time when the young man would stand against his goal of becoming the Barbarian King of the Borderlands.

As a warrior and a strategist, he could feel it in his bones.

His choice would have been easier if the young man was arrogant, domineering, and a piece of sh*t who wasn’t worth saving.

Unfortunately for him, Leone was the complete opposite.

He was someone whom even Hagen had reluctantly acknowledged as a righteous and honorable chieftain.

Someone who was truly loved by his people.

Someone worth risking their lives for.

It was also this that made Hagen sure that Leone would become a threat.

A threat that would one day bite him back if he were allowed to survive this war.

His Elite Warriors had been with their chieftain long enough to know what he was thinking.

Though frankly, they were also very reluctant to eliminate that young man. However, if their chieftain ordered it, they would do it without fail.

Just as Hagen was weighing his options, the three chieftains of the middle-ranked tribes arrived by Leone’s side.

For some reason, these three chieftains were looking in Hagen’s direction. All of them were on full alert, as if they could read what was on his mind.

Suddenly, he felt three more presences appear not long after.

Three women, whom he hadn’t seen before in Grimjaw Mountain, appeared a few meters away from Leone.

They were all wearing clothes that weren’t common in the Borderlands. And to his surprise, they were also looking in his direction.

Their gaze was telling him that if he were to even take a step in their direction, they would attack him without question.

A sigh escaped Hagen’s lips before he shifted his attention back to the battlefield.

Truth be told, a part of him was relieved that he no longer had the opportunity to nip Leone in the bud before he could grow into a greater threat.

After seeing the power of his vassals and the current stage of the war, he could tell with absolute certainty that as long as the Aslan Tribe survived this calamity, they would become a force that no one would dare to underestimate anymore.

"To me!" Hagen shouted as he charged down the mountain in order to help kill the monsters that were rampaging on the ground.

His Elite Warriors followed behind without hesitation, making Oswald, Duncan, and Garen breathe a sigh of relief.

For these three chieftains, Leone was a very valuable person who must be protected at all costs.

He was their hope, after all.

He was the key that would allow their tribes to prosper to new heights. With that, they would risk their lives to protect him against the high-ranking tribes.

Tribes that might just take this opportunity to end the young man’s life during his most vulnerable moment.

"He’s finally gone," Oswald said in relief.

"Don’t lower your guard," Duncan stated. "He might change his mind if he sees a chance."

"Kael, how is he?" Garen asked. "Is he alright?"

"I don’t know," Kael answered honestly. "Healing is not my specialty."

"Move aside then." One of the women behind Kael crouched down. "I will boost the Young Master’s natural healing ability."

Without even waiting for the shaman to say anything, the woman pressed her hands over Leone’s chest.

Soon, her hands emitted golden light, which wrapped around the young man’s body.

While she didn’t have a powerful healing ability, doing something was still better than doing nothing.

The woman was one of Hassan’s subordinates.

The three women all kept their presence hidden as per their Master’s orders.

Though now that their Master was unconscious, he ordered them to appear to serve as a deterrent to anyone who would try to target their Young Master while he was unconscious.

"That chieftain emitted killing intent toward the Young Master earlier," one of the women commented. "Should I deal with him?"

"No," Hassan replied through telepathy. "Don’t do anything that might complicate things. Just focus on defending the Young Master."

The woman clicked her tongue at those words before dropping the matter.

"Kael, we are more than enough to help protect the Young Master," Hassan said. "It’s time for you to help in the war."

The shaman reluctantly nodded before standing up.

"Then, I guess it’s time for me to show everyone the true might of the Aslan Tribe," Kael declared without a bit of shame.

The three chieftains glanced in his direction with great interest.

They watched as the shaman raised his hand and chanted for a while.

A moment later, all of them felt it.

A ripple of power washed over the battlefield.

Then, right before everyone’s eyes, something rose from the battlefield.

Those who had sharp eyes and great intellect recognized it right away.

It was blood.

Kael was a Bloodriver Tyrant.

His power revolved around blood and water.

And battlefields were the perfect place to showcase his full power.

All the blood on the battlefield gathered at his call.

It then formed a twenty-meter-tall golem that made the three chieftains’ jaws open wide.

"Blood Golem, attack!" Kael ordered. "Kill all those who dare trespass upon the domain of the Aslan Tribe!"

The Blood Golem raised its right foot in response and stomped it on the ground, killing the monsters without mercy.

Seeing that the majority of the monsters were outside the walls of the Aslan Tribe, the Blood Golem then punched the already damaged wall that the monsters were using to enter the base of the mountain.

The gap widened, and from there, the Blood Golem emerged.

It then brandished its arms like a whip, starting a one-sided massacre.

The more monsters it killed, the more blood merged with its body.

It then set its sights on the Monster King that was fighting tooth and nail against Boris.

As if seeing the biggest threat on the battlefield, the Blood Golem ran towards the Bronze Dragon.

Each step made the ground tremble.

Each step killed monsters along its path.

When it was finally within the Monster King’s range, the Blood Golem jumped.

As if coming to an understanding with Boris, the Black Dragon rolled to the side, watching as the Blood Golem’s body slammed against the Monster King.

The two behemoths then tag-teamed to pin down the Bronze Dragon. The Golem punched the Monster King’s head repeatedly, while Boris focused its attention on ripping a wing off its hated enemy.

Boris would not allow its friend’s death to be in vain!

It bit the Dragon’s wings, while using its claws to help tear it apart.

After putting everything on the line for this single goal, the Black Dragon finally succeeded.

One of the Bronze Dragon’s wings was torn off ‌its body, rendering it unable to fly.

Rasta and the others who saw this cheered, thinking they had now gained the upper hand in their battle against the powerful monster.

Blood sprayed once more from its body. Yet, those who were watching the battle felt that instead of weakening, the Monster King seemed to be getting stronger.

Then, as if to prove this point, the black aura surrounding the Bronze Dragon turned bloody red.

A moment later, the Bronze Dragon unleashed a powerful shockwave that sent both Boris and the Blood Golem skidding across the battlefield.

It roared hatefully at its enemies before opening its mouth to unleash another breath attack.

However, this time, instead of flames, something else was released from its jaws.

A red lightning bolt hit Boris before it could react, causing it to slam against the Aslan Tribe’s first line of defense.

The Monster King had now entered its most dangerous phase, a phase that everyone was seeing for the very first time.

Its bloodshot eyes locked onto the Black Dragon as if it were a crazed beast that was about to wreak havoc on the world.
