"Here lie the brave warriors of the Darkmane Tribe. Those who stood against the Monster King that tried to conquer the Borderlands."
When morning came, a monument engraved with those words appeared in the same place as the funeral pyre they had lit a day ago.
Troy looked at this monument with a solemn expression, as if he was deep in thought.
When he regained consciousness, Leone told him that Darkmane City had been burned to the ground as per his orders.
It went without saying that rage flooded his body. Such a reaction was natural on his part.
However, his fury didn’t last long. After all, they were at war. On top of that, Leone also kindly reminded him that the Darkmane Tribe had burned the forest of the Aslan Tribe and that there were hundreds of squirrels that were out for his blood.
Seriously though, Leone had to calm down the little ones. Even if Troy was now a Lionkin, the Weresquirrels would not hesitate to bite him to death at the cost of their lives.
With that, Troy and Leone both knew that the grudges between the two tribes wouldn’t be settled overnight.
Yet, they still came to an agreement.
Never again would they point their blades at each other.
Troy knew they had only survived thanks to Leone’s mercy.
Though the main reason why he had been willing to stand down was because of what the young man had told him.
"There are still people waiting for your return. The Darkmane Tribe still needs their chieftain."
According to Gundar, the survivors of the Darkmane Tribe were taken by the Bonegnash Tribe to their city.
Godwin, Hagen, and Malik all agreed to accompany Troy to the Bonegnash Tribe’s territory, working together to force Osteon to surrender himself and his family to them.
If they refused, then all the high-ranking tribes would declare war upon them and wipe them out from the face of the Borderlands.
The three high-ranking chieftains had already sent advance parties. They were ordered to return to their respective territories to gather three thousand warriors each.
That way, even if Osteon hid behind the walls of his fortress city like a turtle, he would not be able to escape the consequences of their actions.
Aside from that, Leone made sure that the Darkmane Tribe could completely obliterate the Bonegnash Tribe should Osteon refuse to surrender.
After looking at the monument for a while, Troy shifted his attention toward his surroundings.
Countless warriors were dismantling the bodies of the monsters that had died in battle.
They would then process the meat into their provisions in their journey. As for the monster materials like fur, scales, teeth, horns, and other items, Leone generously shared it with everyone.
Of course, when he "generously" shared the monsters, he had already taken the Bronze Dragon, the Manticore, the Black-Scaled Basilisk, the Ogre Warlord, and the Harpy Queen for himself.
The Pteranodon Tyrant had also been captured, currently bound by Adamantine Shackles.
Blitz was already in the process of brainwashi—errr, giving it a taste of shock therapy to make it more obedient to the Aslan Tribe.
While Troy was observing everyone, he sensed the presence of four people drawing closer to him.
He didn’t even need to turn around to identify them. After all, there were only a handful of people who would dare approach him without worries.
"I still can’t get used to your new look," Hagen said in a teasing tone. "Or rather, perhaps this is just your true form manifested in reality."
"I’m already used to your look, though?" Troy turned around to look at Hagen. "Your face just screams ’hypocrite.’ I bet looking at your own reflection makes you flinch."
Hagen smirked at those words, while Troy sneered back. Clearly, the bad blood between the two of them hadn’t died in the war.
"How do you feel right now?" Malik asked in a serious tone. "Do you feel any different after transforming into a Beastkin? Also, how did Leone do it? Can he turn anyone into someone like you?"
"I feel stronger than ever before," Troy answered. "As for how that brat turned me into a Beastkin, you should ask him that question. I was already like this when I woke up."
Godwin remained silent. Truth be told, he and his family could also be considered part Beastkin.
After all, they could manifest the power of their Guardian, the Thunder Roc, allowing them to fly in the sky and turn certain parts of their body to that of a Roc.
"I’m just going to say this now so you don’t accidentally get in my way in the future," Troy stated. "If Osteon refuses to surrender, I will forcefully subjugate the Bonegnash Tribe and absorb their people."
Hagen arched an eyebrow. "Can you though? After the losses you’ve suffered in this war, do you still have what it takes to take over a high-ranking tribe?"
Troy smiled faintly, which made his beastly face look more intimidating.
"I can even take over your tribe if the great shaman doesn’t extend his hand to help you," Troy said with confidence.
At first, Hagen thought that Troy was just bluffing. However, he could easily see through a bluff if there was one.
The Chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe was serious.
Even though only five thousand of his warriors had survived this campaign, he was still radiating a confidence that couldn’t be shaken.
"Just where is that confidence of yours coming from?" Hagen asked.
"You’ll see it when I take over the Bonegnash Tribe," Troy replied before walking away.
Sure, the current Darkmane Tribe had lost over ten thousand warriors in this war.
A blow that would typically devastate any high-ranking tribe.
Yet Troy and his men, who had survived this calamity, had been tempered to the point that they were stronger than ever before.
Plus, with Leone’s help, Troy felt that he could take on the Bonegnash Tribe alone as long as the other high-ranking tribes didn’t send their armies to serve as reinforcements.
While all of this was happening, Leone was soaking in his bathtub, happily looking at the rewards he had gained from completing his mission.
He had been too busy to look at it the day before. But now that he had the time, he realized that the rewards for completing this difficult mission were better than he had expected.

Perhaps thanks to the special bonus reward, the young man had 30 points added to each of his stats. It was the very first time that something like this had happened, so Leone was ecstatic.
The Rank 3 Mounts being unlocked was also a great boon. With this, they could now gain stronger monsters.
Although the Raptors the Aslan Tribe currently possessed were only Rank 2 Monsters, he had no intention of ignoring their growth.
In fact, Leone had already planned to use the Bronze Dragon’s blood as an ingredient for Beast Synthesis.
Out of curiosity, he checked the new Beast Synthesis Recipes that had been rewarded to him. Unexpectedly, the recipe for the monster that he planned on creating was already there. It was as if the one who gave him the rewards had already expected what he was thinking.
"Drakes..." Leone muttered with a serious expression on his face.
Yes. He planned to give the Raptors the blood of the Bronze Dragon, forcing the Raptors of the Aslan Tribe to mutate.
