My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 363: Vlad’s Grand Plan [Part 1]

In one of the villas atop the mountain, a teenage boy looked in the direction of the Plaza of the Brave with a pout.

This teenager was none other than Vlad. He had this pout since yesterday, ever since he accidentally overheard a conversation during the meeting.

"Would you like to become one of my vassals?"

The invitation hadn’t been directed at him.

Instead, Brent was the lucky guy, and Leone was the one who proposed. Vlad understood that his grudge was misplaced.

Brent was a good person. At least, that was Vlad had observed since the new chieftain of the Bonegnash Tribe arrived in the Grimjaw Mountain.

The Bonegnash Tribe was once a high-ranking tribe.

But now?

They were now considered a low-ranking tribe.

A Tribe that had fallen from grace, and many believed that they could no longer reclaim the glory that they once had.

Even so, that didn’t matter to the teenage boy right now.

"Unfair..." Vlad’s cheeks puffed more after remembering that moment.

He had long wanted to become Leone’s vassal.

He had been with him longer, after all.

Plus, he had discovered him earlier than anyone else.

And yet, the opportunity he had been wishing for had been instead offered to someone else.

To him, it was as if someone had stolen the last slice of pie he was saving for dinner. He felt betrayed, having expected Leone to approach him with the same offer.

Yet, he never received it.

Leone didn’t offer him anything whatsoever.

Little did Vlad know that Leone had already been itching to make him his vassal.

If not for the political repercussions of such a move, Leone would’ve done it. Alas, he couldn’t afford to potentially sour the relationship between the Aslan Tribe and the Warclaw Tribe.

Of course, Vlad knew this as well.

He knew it very well, in fact.

However, he still felt sad that Brent would become a vassal before him.

’No... I can’t let that happen,’ Vlad thought. ’I must become Leone’s vassal before Brent!’

It was at that moment that a familiar voice called out to him.

"Vlad?"

At that moment, Vlad turned around and saw Natalia, the same young lady who reminded him of his older sister, Tianna.

Tianna tilted her head when she noticed his expression. "What’s wrong? Why are you pouting?"

"I..." Vlad hesitated.

Normally, he would have tried to brush off the question.

But he trusted Natalia. So, after a moment of hesitation, he decided to answer honestly.

"I heard Leone wants to make Brent his vassal," Vlad admitted.

Tianna blinked. "Oh."

"That’s all you have to say?"

"What else am I supposed to say?"

"I don’t know." Vlad puffed out his cheeks again. "I wanted to become his vassal first!"

She stared at him for a few seconds before a faint smile appeared on her lips.

"So that’s what’s been bothering you." Tianna smirked back at him.

Vlad nodded reluctantly. "I’ve wanted to become his vassal for a long time, but I can’t really exactly walk up to him and ask him to make me his vassal, right?"

"Why not?" Tianna rested her chin on top of her intertwined fingers.

"Because..." Vlad scratched his cheek at the question. "There are political consequences."

Tianna agreed with her little brother’s statement.

As one of the heirs of the Warclaw Tribe, Vlad becoming Leone’s personal vassal could easily be interpreted as the Warclaw Tribe submitting to the Aslan Tribe.

Even if that wasn’t Leone’s intention, the other tribes might interpret it that way.

"And besides..." Vlad muttered. "What if he refuses?"

Tianna nodded in agreement. "That is also possible."

Her answer made Vlad pout more. He also feared Leone’s rejection.

At best, most people’s rejection would hurt his feelings. But he would recover after a while.

As for Leone’s rejection?

His heart might just break.

He fell silent for a minute while looking at the table in front of him. It was as if he were willing the table to talk to him and give him the answer that he was looking for.

It was then that an idea popped into his head. "I got it!"

"Got what?" Tianna asked.

"I think I understand now!"

"Understand what?"

Vlad suddenly clenched his fists. "If Leone isn’t offering to make me his vassal, then I just need to give him a reason to do it."

Tianna blinked in response. She was a bit surprised, not expecting Vlad to think of this angle.

Vlad’s expression became serious as he discussed his plan with his older sister. "I need to show him that I’m capable."

"I see..."

"I need to prove that I can be useful to him."

The teenager’s eyes began to sparkle with determination as he thought of the perfect plan on how to win Leone’s approval.

"If I can accomplish something nobody else can, Leone will definitely notice me," Vlad stated.

Tianna remained silent. She didn’t want to approve or reject Vlad’s way of thinking. Her little brother was very precious to her, after all. So, as long as he didn’t move away from the right path, she would always support him.

"So, what is your plan to gain Leone’s approval?" Tianna asked after waiting for a few seconds.

Vlad grinned in return. "There is only one way to make Leone recognize me. And that is by infiltrating the cave leading to the underground tunnels of the Aslan Tribe."

"You want to sneak into the cave?" Tianna’s eyes widened after hearing Vlad’s plan. "And when do you plan to do that?"

"Tonight," Vlad replied with determination. "I’ll infiltrate the Aslan Tribe and find Leone."

Tianna stared back at him. "You do realize that the Aslan Tribe’s underground tunnels are heavily guarded, right?"

"That’s exactly why I’m going." Vlad nodded with determination. "If I can bypass the defenses and find Leone without anyone noticing, he’ll know that I’m resourceful enough to do great things. And when he realizes just how capable I am..."

The teenager paused dramatically and then flipped his hair, imitating Leone’s body double.

"He will then think, ’Vlad is such a capable young man. I should definitely make him my vassal.’" Vlad added.

Tianna’s lips twitched at his words. She was starting to think that Leone might be a bad influence on her little brother.

"Okay, so let me get this straight." Tianna crossed her arms over her chest. "You plan to sneak inside the cave tonight, bypass all the defenses, find Leone, and then surprise him. Did I get everything right?"

Vlad nodded. "Yes! And if I succeed, he’ll have no choice but to recognize my talent."

Tianna considered the idea. Truthfully, she could have stopped him. And she should.

She could have told Vlad it was pointless to go through all this trouble.

She could have simply told him that Leone already valued him.

However, Tianna decided against it.

Instead, she smiled.

"That sounds like a good plan," Tianna said.

"I know, right?!" Vlad reached out to hold Tianna’s hand. "Sister, I’m very smart, right?!"

"Yes. You’re a genius."

"Fufufu!"

The young lady was very tempted to pinch her little brother’s cheek, finding him very endearing. However, she held herself back.

"Okay. Good luck, Vlad!" Tianna patted her brother’s head. "I’m sure you can do it."

"Thank you, Sister Natalia!" Vlad hugged his sister back, enjoying the praise and attention given to him.

A few minutes later, the teenager began planning his infiltration in earnest, completely unaware that Tianna had already decided to inform Leone about her little brother’s plan.
