My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 365: Vlad’s Grand Plan [Part 3]

Vlad spent the next few hours preparing for his infiltration mission.

After a bit of thinking, he came to the conclusion that simply sneaking into the Aslan Tribe’s underground tunnels would not be enough.

To prove his worth to Leone, he must also show his ability to handle unexpected situations.

With that in mind, he prepared several scrolls to solve the problems he might face during his mission.

Only the sound of a brush moving across a blank scroll faintly sounded in the quiet room. A few minutes later, he finally finished and placed his brush down to inspect his handiwork.

"Done," Vlad muttered with a faint smile on his face.

The scrolls he had prepared contained various spells he could activate when needed.

Some were meant to create distractions.

While others were designed to conceal his presence.

Vlad had no intention of solely relying on his physical abilities.

If he encountered a problem, he would use the tools at his disposal to overcome it.

Truth be told, Vlad possessed a special talent that not many people knew about.

He was a very capable strategist.

Vlad had always enjoyed solving problems, even when he was younger.

Whenever his brothers discussed military matters, he would often listen from the side and try to come up with solutions on his own.

Unfortunately, he rarely had the opportunity to voice his opinions.

Whenever he tried to participate in the adults’ discussion, his brothers would usually tell him the same thing.

Leave adult matters to the adults.

Stay quiet and listen.

You’re still too young.

For this reason, Vlad had never been able to properly demonstrate his abilities.

Then again, nobody expected much from him.

To most people, he was simply the young heir of the Warclaw Tribe. The youngest, who was energetic, mischievous, and occasionally troublesome.

However, Vlad knew he was capable of so much more.

And now...

He finally had an opportunity to prove just that.

"I won’t fail," Vlad said firmly before carefully storing the scroll into the storage ring Leone had gifted him.

The young chieftain already understood how Vlad would be able to maximize the power of his Dreamweaver Brush. By stockpiling paintings that could be activated anytime, anywhere, the teenage boy could protect himself during dangerous situations.

Vlad took a deep breath to steady his nerves before raising his brush to create another masterpiece.

’If I can reach Leone without being discovered, then it proves that I’m not just some little kid,’ Vlad thought. ’And then... he will definitely recognize my talent and make me his vassal!’

Though, just as the teenage boy was about to paint another masterpiece, the door to his room suddenly opened.

"Vlad?"

The teenage boy froze in place, his brush hovering a few inches away from the scroll in front of him.

"Sister Natalia?" Vlad breathed out a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, the one who entered the room was none other than the kind sister who had kept him company during his stay in the Aslan Tribe.

"I’ve been knocking on the door for a while now, but you weren’t answering," Tianna said as she entered the room. "You must be really concentrating on your work if you didn’t hear me."

"I’m sorry, sister," Vlad replied. "When I paint, I usually shut out the outside world so I can focus."

Tianna thought that this was understandable, so she no longer said anything and sat beside her little brother.

Vlad noticed the scroll in her hand and wondered what it was.

"Sister, what is that in your hand?" Vlad asked.

"I brought you something that might help with your little infiltration mission," Tianna replied carefully, even glancing at the window as if afraid that someone might hear her words.

She then placed the scroll on the table before carefully unfurling it so that Vlad could see its contents.

"This is..." Vlad blinked. "A map?"

"Yes," Tianna replied. "But not just any ordinary map."

At those words, the teenager carefully looked at the map, and a few seconds later, his expression turned serious.

He realized that it was a map of the underground tunnels of the Aslan Tribe, which took him by surprise.

"How did you get this?" Vlad inquired.

"I drew it myself," Tianna answered without batting an eye.

"You drew this?"

"Yes. Did you forget? Leone allows me to freely enter the underground tunnels whenever I have business discussions with him. So, I simply memorized the layout and drew what I remembered."

Vlad looked at the map again. A look of excitement soon appeared on his face.

"This is amazing!" Vlad stated. "You’re amazing, sister!"

Seeing how moved his little brother was, Tianna felt a little guilty for lying to him. However, Vlad failed to notice that guilt, still busy observing the map in her hands.

"With this, I can better plan my route!" Vlad was actually worried that he might get lost in the underground tunnels.

Although he had entered the cave before, he had only entered the shallow layers where Leone talked to his guests.

Now that he had the layout of the underground tunnels that led to Leone, he felt more confident that he would be able to complete his mission without fail.

"Thank you, sister." Vlad hugged Tianna after memorizing the map. "You’re the best!"

The young lady patted her little brother’s head, who looked very happy now that he was one step closer to his goal.

It was then that she decided to tell Vlad something important.

"I believe you can get past most of the guards, but there is one last obstacle that will block your path," Tianna said calmly.

"One last obstacle?" Vlad blinked. "What is it?"

"Jason," Tianna replied. "He guards the entrance to the cavern where Leone and the first Aslanians live. He is the last hurdle you need to face."

Vlad’s face immediately turned serious after hearing that.

After all, Jason wasn’t someone whom Vlad could casually sneak past.

The young man possessed heightened senses and lived within the main cavern where Leone stayed.

If Vlad wanted to reach Leone without being noticed, Jason would indeed be the most difficult obstacle.

It didn’t matter even if he moved stealthily. With Jason’s skills, he would be found.

"Then I’ll need to think of a way to bypass him," Vlad muttered.

Tianna nodded in agreement. "I might know of a way."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Leone had already told Tianna a way to make his straightforward vassal bend the rules a bit to allow Vlad entry to the Aslan Tribe’s most protected place.

Truth be told, Tianna was also thinking about how she would broach this topic to Vlad.

Though, after careful consideration, she decided to make up an excuse.

"I heard from Leone that Jason has an eye for paintings," Tianna said. "Maybe you can get past him if you give him a painting in exchange for turning a blind eye once."

"A painting?" Vlad rubbed his chin. "I can do that, but what kind of painting should I give him?"

"Tell me, what is the most beautiful thing you can draw?" Tianna asked in curiosity. She wanted to know what the highest level of masterpiece her little brother could create.

"When it comes to painting the most beautiful thing, isn’t the answer very obvious?" Vlad patted his chest with pride. "There is no one more beautiful than my sister in the Borderlands. If I draw her, then it will become my greatest masterpiece!"

Tianna almost hugged the living sh*t out of her little brother after hearing him say the most endearing answer she had heard in her life.

Fortunately, she managed to hold herself back, albeit barely. She looked at her little brother with pride. Sure enough, this was the child she carefully raised. As she intended, he grew up to be an outstanding gentleman.

"Sister? Why are you looking at me like that?" Vlad blinked. "Why is your face red?"

"Nothing," Tianna replied. "So, do you plan to give Jason a painting of your sister?"

"Huh? Why would I give him a painting of my sister?" Vlad looked genuinely confused.

"To bribe him so that he will allow you to pass?" Tianna stated.

"No way." Vlad firmly shook his head. "Why would I give my sister’s painting to a man? If it was Leone who asked for it, I would have done it. But Jason? No way! My sister is too good for him!"

Tianna flinched as she looked at his little brother, who crossed his arms over his chest.

It seemed that her and Leone’s plan had suddenly backfired, making her feel at a loss on how Vlad could overcome the last guardian that would block his path.
