Chapter 136: Development [2]

I need to get the research Xia has done, but I only have one computer.

Sure the computer is running at supercomputer levels, but Xia has a whole server farm with supercomputer capabilities. That also comes with an entire department of anti-hacking pros.

I know I managed to get into the FBI’s database, but I also had an upgraded mini server farm. With an upgraded hacking AI, that had multiple internet ports for versatility.

Now, I only have one computer and one satellite, without a hacking AI.

Also, my vast fortune worth $180,000,000 has been depleted to a meager $250,000.

My spending has been extremely ludicrous because I had been under the impression that the RAM factory would be raking in tons of money. But, that has been put on hold because of the protest.

$250,000 is still a lot of money. I can make things happen with that amount.

A full server rack for heavy virtualization, database, and AI workloads cost around $15,000. Back in Yamato I spent $150,000 buying ten. That allowed me to enter the FBI easily.

If I buy 7, I should be able to still skirt by, even if just barely. But first I should think about what I really need right now before deciding on anything.

I need better computing power, that way I can get the research, find out where Tyrell is, and keep track of him.

I already have enough materials to build most of the things I need with the 3D printer.

Next I’m going to need some robotics parts. Thankfully they are pretty cheap online.

Even with people awakening with powers I have only seen a few riots with nothing major to note.

My guess is that not enough people have awakened and none are that powerful. Leading to minor rioting over all.

Mostly led by people trying to take advantage of others’ fear to benefit themselves.

But, that’s all I really noticed from the radio in the cab.

For the robotics parts I could also just drive to the store and pick some up.

I noticed that Layla got a plastic 3D printer for herself. I assume it is for the small plastic pieces that are not made anymore or are impossible to replace.

I need to know what robotics pieces to get first. I pulled up a few different sites to start my search. The first was the coil gun schematics, easy enough.

Then I started looking into how I was going to use the coil gun. By strapping it to a model RC plane more specifically a VTOL.

I found a model online that you can buy the specs for just $69 and the turbine specs for $29. True this is for a plastic model, but the carry weight is 11.5 Pounds or 5.2 Kilograms.

Which is nuts.

However a coil gun still has "recoil". However, it is not like a normal gun’s recoil that comes from an explosion, but from the magnets "pushing" the projectile. So, the recoil is more stable.

But, I will still have to factor that into the flight ability of the model plane.

What is great is that both of the models can be put into my simulation. It would take a while but I could get them more integrated with AI developing them.

With that done I went out and spent the full $150,000 to get all ten server racks, I also spent $25,000 on robotics parts and other computer accessories. A literal two truck loads later. I have everything at the warehouses.

Time to start the montage.

I put together the server racks, the satellites on the roofs, and the AI downloaded.

With the basics done I could super charge the process.

The simulation with the VTOL fighter jet that had the coil gun attached to the bottom got really turned online.

The multiple server racks hummed to life as the AI started to test and run diagnostics. Over the course of a day the servers were upgraded, same with the satellites, and the AI.

The process was obvious at a glance. I watched as the AI did hundreds of tests a second. Each one pushing the product closer to "perfection".

Around the afternoon on Tuesday, February 17, I noticed the stagnation of the development.

The VTOL had reached the pinnacle of what our modern technology could achieve. To go further the AI would need access to more information.

The Xia research was actually really helpful. They are on the right path, but they lack my ability to upgrade things. Because even if they are using a supercomputer to help research they ultimately only have one and their AI isn’t as good as mine.

Otherwise they would also have reached the level of practicality.

Now the hard part. Actually building the thing.

True, most of it is 3D printed, so I only have to put the pieces together. But, the robotics portion is what I’m worried about.

Now you might be thinking that I kept the material as plastic, right?

Wrong! I made sure to change the material to lightweight metal that I have access to. That is what I ran all of the simulations on.

So, over to the metal 3D printer.

I printed out the pieces. Once they were all out, I started putting them together. One of the hard parts was the batteries. I bought an electric car battery. It was the size of the underside of a car.

So, I opened it up and started separating the modules and cells. Then I reorganized them inside the body of the plane for optimum space utilization. I made sure not to affect the balance and weight distribution.

In case you were wondering, there are plenty of abandoned electric cars outside of electric cars shops. Because the cost to fix it is more than the price to get a new one. So, people have started to just leave them there.

The shop owner started selling the parts with the car owners permission.

Anyway, with that done I moved onto the robotics.
