After a while it was time for the reception, where everyone comes together for a meal to support the family.
However, Layla’s friends and I didn’t stick around. That family wouldn’t get our support.
When we got to the parking lot Samantha saw what I was driving and asked, "Couldn’t you have driven something less ostentatious?"
I only replied, "The others got burned up."
Samantha and I then made plans for her to follow me back to the warehouses.
...
Once back she saw Layla’s car still sitting there. She asked, "Are you going to move that?"
"No, that’s Layla’s car. I wouldn’t feel right driving that. Plus, I think there is some law about using things before the affairs are in order. Just to make sure people aren’t trying to steal them. Or something. I don’t know. Follow me, this way."
We walked deeper into the warehouse lot until I stopped in front of a garage door.
There, I said, "The plan is inside."
Then I opened the garage door. It slowly rolled up to reveal an RC airplane sitting alone in the middle of the warehouse. It was sitting there plugged in charging.
We looked at it for a moment before Samantha said with a straight face, "You better be fucking with me. Or I’m going to lose my shit."
"I am being serious. Here follow me to the other side."
We walked across to the warehouse right next to it. Inside she saw 10 towers of blinking lights and against the far wall were 9 monitors in a 3x3 grid.
The top 3 monitors were the doorbell cameras that were watching Tyrell. One on either side of the street and the final one on the house at the end of the road facing back down the street.
The middle right monitor was a low resolution 3D rendering of the street with all of the people being updated in real time with Tyrell glowing red.
That way I could calculate the trajectory of the projectile to prevent any collateral damage. I want to kill Tyrell, not any of his little cronies.
The left middle monitor was the wind radar for his area. This was calculated by the movement of the trees and flags in the area.
The bottom 3 monitors were used to monitor the radio and active feed of the local police, air control, and the Radio Frequency sensors.
I have no way of hacking into any of these to prevent reports. The local police would get physical reports from people.
Air control has transponders on planes, but mine is a handmade drone. So, there isn’t a transponder. But they do have traditional radar where they shoot physical radar and listen for rebound. The good news is that my aircraft is too small and fast for me to be worried about that.
But just in case, I hacked into the system and programmed the software to filter out or automatically delete specific primary radar returns before they render on the air traffic controller’s screen.
The Radio Frequency sensors are the main problem: they can detect drones, tell the exact type, get the serial number, find out who the pilot is from air control information or if it’s rogue. They can also tell the take off point and can even track back the signal to the controller.
Since I am using satellites they won’t be able to trace it back to me, but detecting an unknown drone flying around an urban area would definitely alert quite a lot of people.
Just like the air control radar, I hacked in and made the program hide or delete my data.
Now, my drone will be completely invisible to most radars. The only way to be caught is with the physical eye. But, it will be moving fast enough that most people won’t see it. Even if they did, they would probably think it’s just a bird.
I explained all of this to Samantha.
She just asked, "How is this supposed to do anything? Are you going to ram him?"
"Uh, no. It has a big gun hidden inside."
"Oh, ok."
"Here, just wait here." I went out and unplugged the drone, then rolled it out into the open. When I got back inside with Samantha I started up the drone.
The middle screen flickered to life. The screen showed the drone’s point of view. All of the sensors and cameras blended together, they created an enhanced video that basically allows it to see through walls.
All of the information being collected is read and compiled into basically real life wall hacks.
Samantha just said, "Alright, I see the vision."
With that the drone took off, flying straight up before launching forward.
The unupgraded model could reach 150 miles per hour or 241.4 kilometers per hour.
After 2 upgrades it has reached 600 miles per hour or 965.6 kilometers per hour.
Tyrell is only 30 miles away. At max speed I would be going at 10 miles a minute. So, I could be at his house in 3 minutes. But, realistically it will take closer to 7 minutes to line up a good entry for the shot.
Samantha and I waited in silence as we watched the screen calculate Tyrell’s death.
As the drone flew closer and the computer calculated, thoughts of the video came flooding back. My blood was boiling but I stayed cold.
Finally we saw the drone approaching the neighborhood. It flew right overhead completely unnoticed, but on the ground it was a different story.
The doorbell footage showed Tyrell with his back to one of the fire pits making jokes and playing with his fire ability.
Then the next moment.
Krack-Squelsh, Tump.
His head exploded. His white brian matter and chunks of his skull were either sent flying or turned directly into mist.
His body carried by the force was lifted up and dropped right onto the fire pit.
AHHH-
The momentary silence was broken by a scream.
Then, movement. It was chaos, people running every which way, not a single person tried to get Tyrell’s body out of the fire.
They all just scattered, like rats.
