"Faster!" Chu Feng told the driver.
The driver, getting the hint, immediately stepped on the gas.
"Oh, right, Mr. Chu. This is the file on the Jiangshui Building Materials Group. I happen to have a copy right here. It was actually meant for my boss." The secretary pulled a folder from his briefcase and handed it to Chu Feng.
The secretary’s move couldn’t help but make one suspect that the guy had prepared this well in advance.
Looking at the secretary, Su Miaoke could already tell he was a sly old fox.
After all, anyone who could be the secretary to the CEO of such a large corporation had to be incredibly shrewd.
Opening the folder, Chu Feng found the information to be quite comprehensive.
The CEO of the Jiangshui Group: Ma Feng.
Following that was his biography and resume, along with miscellaneous details about the company’s market value and development.
It even detailed various dealings the Jiangshui Building Materials Group had been involved in.
This gave Chu Feng a clear picture of the Jiangshui Building Materials Group.
Ma Lin!
Chu Feng’s gaze ultimately landed on one name.
He was the son of Ma Feng, CEO of the Jiangshui Building Materials Group. Arrogant and domineering since childhood, he was a well-known local rich kid.
Since he was a kid, the guy had done countless detestable things: fighting, running illegal casinos—you name it.
It was all there in the file.
Chu Feng couldn’t help but shoot the secretary a deep look. It was obvious the secretary knew who he was and had done some digging beforehand.
The only explanation was that Wang Hong had called the secretary ahead of time and told him to look into it.
But the secretary was a sharp one; he didn’t say anything outright, instead just handing the results of his investigation to Chu Feng.
The implication was clear without needing to be said: Ma Lin was behind all this.
"Alright, tell me everything from the beginning," Chu Feng said to the secretary.
Hearing this, the secretary gave an awkward smile. "You’re truly perceptive, Mr. Chu."
"Cut the crap and get to the point," Chu Feng said, his patience wearing thin.
The secretary didn’t dare dally and quickly explained, "It’s like this, Mr. Chu. Your village was originally supposed to partner with our Zhongnan Building Materials Group. Everything was already negotiated, and we were just waiting to deliver the materials."
"But then, out of nowhere, the Jiangshui Building Materials Group muscled in. I don’t know what methods they used, but they convinced your villagers to work with them and break our contract."
The secretary briefly explained the situation to Chu Feng.
"And that’s connected to Ma Lin from Jiangshui Building Materials, I take it?" Chu Feng asked.
"Brilliant, Mr. Chu. It is indeed related to Ma Lin. I just had someone look into it. Apparently, some ancient ruins were unearthed in the village, and there might be something valuable there. The Jiangshui Building Materials Group found out and decided they wanted a piece of it. I don’t know the exact details, but I do know they clashed with some of the villagers and injured several of them."
The secretary continued, and as he finished, he glanced at Chu Feng.
He was clearly trying to gauge Chu Feng’s reaction.
"What about my family? Are they alright?" Chu Feng’s voice turned ice-cold, his eyes blazing with fury.
Clearly, Chu Feng was enraged.
The sheer force of his anger terrified the secretary. From the look of him, it seemed Chu Feng could destroy the entire car with a single punch.
"Yes... Your mother was injured." The secretary swallowed hard, forcing the words out.
The moment Chu Feng heard this, he exploded with rage.
He slammed his fist onto the car’s armrest.
BOOM!
The entire armrest shattered into pieces.
The sudden act made everyone in the car jump.
Chu Feng’s eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like he was ready to kill.
Seeing Chu Feng like this, even Su Miaoke was frightened.
"Darling, please, try not to get so angry. Let’s wait until we get back and see what’s going on. I’m sure Mom is okay," Su Miaoke said, trying to comfort him.
The secretary quickly chimed in, "Mr. Chu, your mother’s injuries aren’t too severe! Just a broken arm and some cuts and scrapes."
The secretary said this with feigned courage, but deep down, he was terrified.
After all, Chu Feng’s punch had genuinely terrified him.
"What?" Hearing this, Chu Feng’s knuckles cracked as he clenched his fist again.
He slammed his fist directly into the car door.
BANG!
The door instantly caved in, leaving a perfect fist-shaped indentation.
The secretary and the driver exchanged a glance, their eyebrows twitching in fear and their hearts pounding in their chests.
This was beyond terrifying. Was he even human?
To leave a fist-shaped dent in such a thick car door with a single punch—in their eyes, this was beyond human capability.
If only they knew that Chu Feng had been holding back. If he hadn’t, that single punch would have sent the entire door flying.
"Faster!" Chu Feng roared, his anger uncontrollable.
Ever since he was a child, Chu Feng had been a deeply filial son, devoted to his parents.
His parents and family were his one taboo. Touch them, and you die!
"Quickly, drive faster!" The secretary, now also flustered, urged the driver.
In fact, he was silently complaining to himself.
’Where on earth did the boss find such a beast? This is insane,’ the secretary thought, secretly dumbfounded.
Those two punches from Chu Feng had just cost them a fortune. The car would need a complete overhaul, both inside and out.
But he didn’t dare make a peep right now. If Chu Feng decided to punch him next, he had no doubt it would be enough to shatter his skull.
The Rolls-Royce sped toward Fuhe Village.
A little over an hour later, the car arrived at the outskirts of Fuhe Village.
But Fuhe Village was completely different now. The road was torn up, looking as if heavy vehicles had been constantly driving in and out.
The entrance to the village was fenced off with a large metal barricade, and men stood guard.
"Mr. Chu, what do we do?" the secretary asked.
Just as the driver was about to stop the car, Chu Feng suddenly ordered, "Charge straight through!"
"Huh? Charge through?" Hearing this, the secretary’s forehead began to break out in a cold sweat.
That was no small barricade. Ramming it would wreck the car.
What’s more, there were men in black standing in front of the barricade. From their posture and expressions alone, it was obvious they were a bunch of thugs.
They were all holding clubs and machetes, and every one of them looked hostile.
"I told you to charge, so charge!" Chu Feng roared.
"Quick! Charge through!" the secretary yelled at the driver.
The driver was a real pro. He didn’t even bat an eye at Chu Feng’s decision.
He slammed his foot on the accelerator, and the car shot forward, hurtling toward the barricade.
The thugs had assumed the car would stop, and they all wore sneering, defiant expressions.
They never imagined the car would actually charge right at them.
