My Pervert Sytem

Chapter 131: The Avgar Legacy and the Perfect Cravat

The morning breeze swept through the courtyard scattering the remaining traces of dark ash left behind by the Imperial Executioner.

Seraphina stood perfectly still clutching the golden scroll in her hand. The roaring sun emblem pressed into the wax seal seemed to radiate a faint magical warmth.

Julian crept out from the manor shadows wiping stray flour from his borrowed tunic. The young boy stared at the golden scroll with wide terrified eyes.

"I cannot believe it," Julian muttered softly stepping closer to get a better look. "My father told me the inner sanctum was completely sealed off three months ago. The Chamberlain claimed the Emperor was too sick to even speak."

Leon turned his sharp dark eyes toward the scrawny noble. "Your father ran the logistics for the palace. Did House Avgar have direct access to the throne room?"

"We did," Julian confirmed nodding quickly. "House Avgar inspected every single grain of wheat and drop of wine that entered the imperial kitchens. But a few months ago the Emperor started acting strange. He stopped eating our shipments. He started rambling about shadows in the walls. Then the Chamberlain locked him away and stripped my family of our duties."

Seraphina narrowed her violet eyes processing the tragic history of the Avgar family.

The pieces of the political puzzle were starting to form a very ugly picture. The Chamberlain had not just isolated the Emperor for power. He was actively hiding something monstrous festering inside the royal palace.

"We need to get moving," Seraphina declared firmly turning back toward the manor. "The Emperor’s patience is not something anyone should test. We will leave for the palace immediately."

She marched inside to prepare her formal armor leaving Leon standing in the courtyard.

He rolled his broad shoulders feeling the satisfying crack of his joints. The capital was proving to be an endless maze of deception.

Every time they kicked down a door they found three more locked behind it.

Leon headed up the grand marble staircase to his private quarters.

He needed to change out of his casual morning clothes and into something fitting for a royal audience.

He pushed the heavy wooden door open and found Beatrice waiting by the wardrobe.

The beautiful blonde head maid held a pristine dark velvet jacket and a crisp white silk shirt draped over her arm.

Her piercing blue eyes scanned his muscular frame carrying a warm possessive devotion that sharply contrasted her strict disciplinary persona.

"You cannot meet the ruler of the known world looking like a wandering mercenary," Beatrice murmured softly stepping forward to assist him.

Leon smiled a dark knowing grin.

He smoothly unbuttoned his current tunic pulling it over his head and tossing it onto the bed. His heavily scarred torso was left exposed to the cool morning air.

Beatrice swallowed hard struggling to maintain her professional composure.

She was an Adept of ice magic accustomed to keeping her emotions frozen. But the intimate memories of his dominant touch constantly threatened to melt her defenses.

She stepped directly into his personal space reaching up to help him slide his arms into the crisp white silk shirt.

Her delicate fingers trembled slightly as she fastened the pearl buttons working her way up his firm chest.

A familiar chime echoed playfully in his skull. The digital interface projected a soft pink text box right above the maid’s blonde head.

[New Quest: The Distracted Maid]

[Objective: Beatrice is trying far too hard to be a perfect servant. Break her professional facade. Gently tilt her chin up, lean down, and tell her something seductive.]

[Reward: +15 Charisma, 400 Shameless Points.]

[Penalty: A localized sensory curse making your tongue taste like stale mud for twenty-four hours.]

Leon did not even bother reading the penalty all the way through.

He acted instinctively wrapping his large hand around her slender waist. He used his other hand to gently cup her delicate chin tilting her flushed face upward.

"You look beautiful when you concentrate Beatrice," he whispered his deep voice vibrating against the quiet walls of the bedroom.

Her breath hitched erratically. The freezing aura radiating from her body instantly vanished replaced by a sudden wave of blinding heat.

She leaned into his touch closing her eyes as a soft scandalous sigh escaped her lips.

[Quest Complete. Rewards Distributed.]

A rush of warmth flooded his features pushing his magnetic appeal even higher. He slowly pulled his hand away allowing her to finish tying the intricate knot of his dark cravat.

She smoothed the lapels of his velvet jacket taking a moment to simply admire the terrifying warlord she served.

"Please be careful in the palace Leon," Beatrice whispered her voice tight with genuine worry. "The Executioners are not bound by the same laws as normal knights. They kill without hesitation."

"They can certainly try," Leon replied effortlessly patting her cheek before turning toward the door.

He met Seraphina back in the main foyer. The silver-haired noblewoman wore an elegant but functional set of dark crimson armor.

The metal plates were etched with protective runes and her heavy steel broadsword rested securely at her hip.

The dense pressure of her new Grandmaster core washed over the room demanding quiet respect from everyone present.

They stepped out into the bustling capital streets and boarded a hired carriage. The ride toward the center of the city was tense and silent.

The towering golden spires of the imperial palace loomed in the distance casting long dark shadows over the merchant districts.

Leon watched the crowded avenues through the carriage window. The capital was a thriving monster of commerce and corrupt politics.

He knew the underground market run by Valeriana was just the tip of the iceberg. The Syndicate had deep roots here and chopping them out was going to take a very long time.

They arrived at the massive iron gates separating the inner sanctum from the rest of the palace grounds.

A dozen imperial guards wearing the Chamberlain’s colors moved to block their path.

Before the guards could demand their identification a single Grey Robe materialized from the shadows near the gatehouse.

The Executioner did not speak. He simply raised a pale tattooed hand toward the guards.

The armored men instantly scrambled backward dropping their weapons and bowing their heads in pure terror.

The path to the true throne was open.

Seraphina stepped out of the carriage her violet eyes locked onto the towering obsidian doors of the main keep.

Leon followed closely behind her keeping a watchful eye on the dark corners of the courtyard.

The real game was finally beginning.
