My Pervert Sytem

Chapter 143: Emerald Pact

The morning light struggled to pierce the thick stone walls of the Emerald Cloister. Inside the private bedroom the air was crisp and refreshing.

A delicate layer of shimmering frost coated the edges of the wooden bedposts acting as a beautiful reminder of the monumental breakthrough that had occurred hours ago.

Leon woke up feeling a familiar weight resting across his chest. Beatrice lay peacefully against him her blonde hair spilling over his dark skin.

Her internal energy had stabilized during the night. She was no longer a struggling Adept.

The dense flowing pathways of a Tier One Master pulsed steadily within her projecting a calm freezing authority.

He gently untangled himself from the plush green quilts taking care not to wake the exhausted maid.

He stretched his thick arms feeling his joints pop as his boundless vitality continued repairing the lingering bruises from the previous day.

He pulled on fresh garments from the safehouse armory settling for a simple dark tunic and sturdy leather trousers.

He grabbed his heavy blunt weapon strapping it securely to his back before stepping out into the main living area.

The fire in the central stone hearth had burned down to glowing red embers.

Elara was already awake tending to a small iron pot suspended over the coals. The rich aroma of spiced tea filled the damp underground room.

The crimson-haired cook shot him a knowing possessive smirk as he entered but remained silent focusing on her brewing.

Sitting on a velvet sofa near the fire was Lady Valeriana.

The beautiful spy looked incredibly out of place in the military bunker.

She was still wrapped tightly in his tailored suit jacket her bare legs tucked underneath her chin.

On the opposite side of the room Isolde Vane paced back and forth.

The Emerald Knight was fully armored her green tabard pristine and her expression tight with intense political anxiety.

Seraphina sat at a sturdy oak table the dark ledger cracked open before her.

Her violet eyes scanned the ancient pages tracking every single treasonous transaction recorded in the cracking leather.

"The Avgar family is vindicated right here on page forty," Seraphina announced running a pale finger over the faded ink.

"The Chamberlain paid the Syndicate fifty thousand gold coins to wipe them out. He needed total control over the royal granaries to starve any noble house that opposed his quarantine."

Julian Avgar sat quietly in the corner clutching a warm cup of tea.

The scrawny boy visibly relaxed hearing his family’s honor restored in ink even if it did not bring them back.

Leon walked over to the velvet sofa stopping right in front of the shivering information broker.

Valeriana looked up at him her dark mysterious eyes lacking their usual arrogant spark. She had lost her luxurious parlor and nearly drowned in an ancient aqueduct.

A digital interface hummed to life in his vision projecting a soft pink text box right over her messy hair.

[New Quest: The Spy’s Morning Warmth]

[The cunning broker is feeling vulnerable and displaced. Inform her who provides her security now.]

[Objective: Sit beside her. Pull her legs across your lap, rub her cold feet to warm them, and tell her she looks surprisingly domestic.]

[Reward: +15 Stamina, 400 Shameless Points.]

[Penalty: Your left ear will violently ring with the sound of a screeching bat for six hours.]

Leon did not even pause to consider the ridiculous penalty. He simply acted.

He sat heavily on the velvet cushions right next to her. He reached out and smoothly pulled her bare legs across his lap.

Valeriana gasped in surprise instinctively trying to pull away but his firm grip held her ankles securely in place.

He began massaging her cold feet pushing a gentle current of soothing kinetic energy into her skin.

"You look surprisingly domestic Valeriana," Leon murmured flashing a dark predatory smile.

The eccentric broker felt a massive jolt of electricity shoot up her calves. Her pale cheeks rapidly painted themselves in a brilliant red flush.

She opened her mouth to deliver a biting sarcastic retort but the blistering heat radiating from his hands melted her words into a quiet breathless sigh.

"You are quite audacious Leon," she finally managed leaning her head back against the sofa.

But she did not make any effort to remove her legs from his lap.

[Quest Complete. Rewards Distributed.]

A rush of raw energy fortified his lungs and muscles bumping his Stamina even higher.

He kept massaging her feet enjoying the chaotic tension rising in the room.

Isolde abruptly stopped pacing her bright green eyes narrowing as she watched the scandalous interaction.

"We do not have time for this," the Emerald Knight snapped her hand resting on the hilt of her rapier. "The Chamberlain called an Emergency Tribunal this morning. He gathered all the neutral lords in the grand hall. He plans to legally declare the Emperor unfit to rule today."

Seraphina slammed the ledger shut. "Then we crash the Tribunal. We present Julian Avgar and we drop this book right on the Chamberlain’s podium."

"You cannot just walk into a royal assembly," Isolde argued fiercely. "The outer rings are guarded by Chamberlain loyalists. They will arrest you on sight before you ever reach the grand doors."

Leon gently moved Valeriana’s legs off his lap and stood up.

He walked slowly toward the rival knight closing the distance until his towering frame cast a dark shadow over her green uniform.

"That is exactly why we need you Isolde," Leon stated his deep voice dropping to a magnetic register.

Isolde stiffened her breath catching in her throat as he invaded her personal space. The scent of dark steel and masculine heat scrambled her military discipline.

"My family is your bitter enemy," she whispered refusing to back away even as her heart hammered against her ribs.

"Your family cares about honor," Leon corrected softly leaning down so only she could hear him. "The Chamberlain is a rat attempting to steal a throne. I know you hate rats. Walk with us today. Prove the Emerald Knights stand for justice."

Her bright green eyes searched his face looking for deception. She found nothing but an endless predatory confidence.

The confusing attraction she felt for the feral beast was violently warring with her political training.

"Fine," Isolde breathed stepping back to break his intoxicating spell. "I will escort your strike team through the checkpoints. But if this ledger is a forgery I will personally throw you in the dungeon."

Leon offered a victorious smirk turning back to his assembled team.
