Chapter 1412: Chapter 1411: Night Raid at the Granary

Wu Guangzu pried open a tile and looked inside the house, just as he expected, it was filled with grain. Both of them exchanged smiles and nodded, ready to act.

"Later, I’ll take care of the two people on the left, you handle the two on the right," Wu Guangzu designated work and pointed to the four people ahead.

"Okay, no problem," Ru Nian agreed heartily.

In no time, they slid down the eaves, quickly arriving next to the four. Wu Guangzu grabbed one by the throat, while simultaneously kicking another in the neck, causing both guards to instantly faint.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Ru Nian swept down like an autumn wind, stepping on the two, who groaned once and fell silent, clearly knocked out.

After dealing with the four, Wu Guangzu quickly dragged the bodies to a nearby corner. To prevent them from waking up too soon, he also pressed their sleep points. Then, the two searched the pockets of the four and finally found a bunch of keys.

These were obviously the keys to the warehouse. The duo took the keys without delay and reached the warehouse door, with Ru Nian vigilantly watching the patrol guards who were heading in another direction.

Ru Nian smiled slightly and then shouted, "Gua gua gua, gua gua gua....."

Moments later, a few people squeezed through the wire fence, heading to the grain depot, moving very deftly and quickly reaching the entrance.

Wu Guangzu prepared to open the door, but suddenly thought something was wrong. Originally, there were four guards, so if they suddenly disappeared, the patrol or sentry would immediately notice the issue.

So, Wu Guangzu thought and suggested, "We should leave four people outside pretending to guard. The four guards were knocked out, so you should quickly change clothes and pretend here to delay time and prevent enemy discovery.

"Got it."

Disciples of the Assassin Group and the Fire Dragon Gang each sent two people, who changed clothes in no time.

Meanwhile, Wu Guangzu had already unlocked the warehouse door, leaving four outside to feign guarding, while the rest went inside.

Looking at the room filled with grain, everyone was very excited, but it wasn’t time to celebrate yet—they knew a single mistake could lead to discovering them, bringing a large force over, and resulting in dire consequences.

Thus, without wasting time, everyone carried two bags of grain each and started moving out.

But just as they were about to leave, a voice said, "You four, stay alert. I’ve heard some bandits plan on stealing grain recently. In this chaotic period, if something goes wrong, we can’t bear the consequences."

"Yes!"

The four responded in unison, not saying much more, as revealing themselves would cause trouble.

The patrol captain glanced at them, feeling they looked unfamiliar, but given the recent influx of refugees, many were recruited for a meal, so new faces were not unusual.

Thus, the captain shook his head and prepared to leave.

Just then, a Fire Dragon Gang member slipped because of the two grain bags they carried, with a "bang," attracting the patrol captain’s attention. He immediately shouted, "Who?"

Leading more than ten people, he entered the house, initially intending to have them open the door with the key, but found the door already unlocked, growing cautious.

"Everyone be careful, there seems to be someone inside."

The patrol captain wasn’t sure, so didn’t sound the alarm, preferring confirmation beforehand, fearing embarrassment if nothing happened after troubling everyone late at night.

A few walked cautiously in with knives, as the captain kicked open the grain depot door, but found nothing.

Wu Guangzu and the others had swiftly cleaned up, sticking to walls, beams, or hiding in grain stacks.

Once inside the grain depot, the captain and soldiers searched thoroughly, wondering about the noise earlier, which sounded like grain dropping, yet everything appeared intact.

However, sensing something amiss, the seasoned captain from Kuang Chenggong’s troops, albeit average in martial arts but known for strength.

Suddenly, the captain looked up, saw Ru Nian attacking from above, caught off guard, but quickly dodged. Seeing this, other soldiers rushed forward with blades.

Just as they reached, several dashed from beams and grain stacks, catching the soldiers off guard.

Soon, all were dealt with.

Except for the captain who, witnessing the overwhelming numbers, aimed to escape to sound the alarm instead of facing off.

Wu Guangzu noticed his intent but the captain smiled slightly, pulled something from his pocket, and threw it forward—thick smoke rose, as the special smoke bomb emitted smoke alone, no explosive sound.

Wu Guangzu felt alarmed and advanced to intercept but it was too late. The captain rolled out of the house.

Ru Nian quickly adjusted, covering mouth and nose and swiftly ran over, removing a garment to cover the smoke bomb, instantly stopping the thick smoke, leaving only traces.

Wu Guangzu pursued, now about ten meters behind the captain, who pulled out a conch-looking item, preparing to blow.

Suddenly, a dart flew from the rooftop, striking the patrol captain’s hand—the conch dropped, his face paled, and moments later he fainted.

Wu Guangzu thought the plan was exposed but unexpectedly received assistance. Instinctively looking up, he saw a hot figure in black leather descending from the roof.

"Wu, I’m here, hahaha."

It was Xiao Feng’s daughter, Xiao Qing.

Xiao Qing was a lively elf, unable to contain herself despite promising dad, sneaking out while others were gathered to follow stealthily.

Seeing everyone infiltrating the enemy’s warehouse excited her but she dared not enter, fearing messing up dad’s plan.

Should anything backfire, Wu brother would surely dislike her, hence staying put.

Later, seeing the patrol captain enter, startling her, Xiao Qing sneaked in, wisely deciding to eliminate the tower lookout posing a major threat first.

From the sleeve, she drew a dart, launched quickly, hitting the lookout’s backside.

"Ow!"

The lookout groaned, blacked out.

Since childhood, Xiao Qing learned shooting and dart throwing from Xiao Feng, forming her ultimate weapon, preparing darts with anesthesia bombs.

Having secured the lookout, relieved she approached, sneaking onto the roof observing inside.

Soon, she saw Wu Guangzu chasing an armored soldier out. Realizing suddenly the soldier pulled a conch to mouth, Xiao Qing immediately understood community signal intent.
