Rachel’s sapphire eyes lit up as she smiled.
"That’s a beautiful name, Master."
She stepped closer to Kaiser.
"I like it."
Rachel leaned toward his ear and whispered playfully,
"I look forward to serving you, Master~~."
The warmth of her breath tickled his ear, causing Kaiser to instinctively lean back.
Rachel stepped away with a playful smile.
"Hmm. Good."
Kaiser nodded and looked at her for a moment.
Unlike Selene’s cold and calm beauty, Rachel had a much more cheerful and playful personality. She gave him the feeling of a mischievous older sister who enjoyed teasing the people around her.
’Unlike Selene’s cold beauty, Rachel is definitely the playful big-sister type.’
Kaiser sighed and shook his head.
"Alright, let’s head to the village. We should first find out where we are."
Rachel nodded.
"Of course, Master."
Kaiser started walking down the hill toward the village, with Rachel following beside him.
As they approached, Kaiser noticed that it was relatively small. Several wooden houses were scattered throughout the area, while villagers worked outside. Some were farming, while others carried supplies between the houses.
Kaiser looked around.
"It seems like a normal village."
Rachel glanced around as well.
"Should I ask them for directions?"
"No. I’ll do it."
Kaiser continued toward the village entrance.
A few villagers noticed them and stopped what they were doing. Their attention was immediately drawn to Rachel.
Her long blue hair, sapphire eyes, and unusual appearance made it obvious that she was not an someone ordinary.
An older villager cautiously approached them.
"Are you travelers?"
Kaiser nodded.
"Yes. We just arrived in this area and are trying to figure out where we are."
The old man studied them for a moment before relaxing slightly.
"This is Frostpine Village. We’re located in the northern part of the Snowflake Kingdom."
"The northern part?"
Kaiser nodded, though the name of the kingdom meant nothing to him.
’It seems I’ve arrived in a completely different part of the Cosmic World. This region isn’t familiar to me at all.’
"Do you know the name of the nearest major city?"
The old man pointed toward the distant mountains.
"The closest major city is Winterhold City. It’s about two days away by horse if you follow the main road."
"Two days?"
Kaiser looked toward the mountains.
"Is there anything dangerous along the way?"
"There are several monster territories between here and Winterhold City, but the main road is relatively safe. Most travelers use it without encountering serious trouble."
Kaiser nodded.
"Thanks. That’s exactly what I needed to know."
The old man smiled.
"You should be able to find merchants and adventurers in Winterhold City. If you’re looking for information about the Snowflake Kingdom, that’s probably the best place to start."
Kaiser’s eyes lit up slightly.
"That’s good to know."
He had finally entered the Cosmic World, and his first priority was gathering information.
He needed to understand the surrounding regions, the major powers, the dungeons, and the opportunities available in this part of the world.
Kaiser looked at Rachel.
"Let’s go."
Rachel nodded.
"Yes, Master."
The two turned toward the road leading away from the village.
Kaiser glanced back at Frostpine Village one last time.
’At least my starting location isn’t too bad.’
He then continued toward Winterhold City with Rachel beside him.
After walking for a while, Rachel glanced at him.
"Are we really going to walk all the way there?"
Kaiser shook his head.
"No. We’ll fly once we’re far enough from the village."
Rachel nodded.
They continued for a few more minutes until the village was no longer visible.
Kaiser was just about to summon Gravity Slime when someone suddenly rushed out of the bushes.
"Wait! Please!"
Kaiser and Rachel stopped and looked toward the newcomer.
It was a young boy covered in dirt, with several minor injuries across his body.
Kaiser studied him carefully.
"Are you from the village?"
The boy quickly nodded.
"Yes! Please help me! Are you adventurers?"
Kaiser glanced at his injuries.
"What happened to you?"
Before waiting for an answer, Kaiser activated Life Sap.
A small drop of concentrated life energy formed in his palm. He handed it to the boy.
The moment the boy consumed it, the wounds across his body disappeared. The color also slowly returned to his pale face.
The boy stared at himself in disbelief.
"You really are adventurers!"
"Calm down," Kaiser said. "Tell us what happened."
The boy immediately became anxious again.
"Please help my village! A demon has taken over the village. Everyone is being controlled by him. My parents were killed."
Kaiser nodded calmly.
"Alright. Rachel, take care of the people spying on us."
Rachel smiled.
"Of course, Master."
Kaiser then looked at the boy.
"What’s your name?"
"Liam."
Rachel walked over and gently placed a hand on Liam’s shoulder.
"Don’t worry. We’ll deal with the demon."
She raised her other hand.
Several thin dark spikes suddenly shot toward the surrounding bushes.
A series of thuds came from the vegetation.
Several people were knocked out of the bushes and fell to the ground.
Liam immediately recognized them.
"Please don’t hurt them!"
Kaiser looked at the fallen villagers.
"They’re innocent. They’re just being controlled."
He immediately activated Purifying Radiance.
A wave of pure light spread across the area.
The dark influence surrounding the villagers slowly disappeared.
After a few moments, they began to move.
"Huh?"
"Where are we?"
"Who are you?"
Liam quickly ran toward them.
"Liam?"
One of the villagers looked at him in surprise.
"Why are you here? And who are these two?"
Kaiser nodded toward Liam.
"Good. Now that they’re awake, explain everything to us."
Liam nodded.
"Yes."
He took a deep breath before beginning his explanation.
"About a month ago, a young man came to our village. He said he was an adventurer and asked to stay here for a while."
"At first, nobody thought there was anything strange about him. But the next day, he attacked one of the women in the village."
"The villagers tried to stop him, but he suddenly used some strange power. Everyone who resisted him became controlled by him."
"Those who managed to resist were killed."
