She could not fail.
She stepped toward the bed and placed her hands near Kaiser’s father’s chest.
A faint red glow appeared around her hands.
Selene closed her eyes and carefully examined his blood, body, and life force.
At first, her expression remained calm.
After several seconds, however, her brows slowly furrowed.
She continued examining him.
The red glow around her hands became stronger.
Finally, Selene opened her eyes.
Kaiser immediately asked,
"How is he?"
Selene looked at him.
"His body isn’t the main problem."
Kaiser’s expression changed.
"What do you mean?"
Selene looked at his father again.
"His soul is damaged."
Kaiser and his mother both froze.
Selene continued.
"There is serious damage to his soul. His body is still alive, and his organs are functioning because of the medical equipment, but his damaged soul cannot properly maintain consciousness."
Kaiser’s mother covered her mouth.
"So that’s why..."
She looked at her husband.
"For all these time, none of the doctors could find anything wrong."
Selene nodded.
"I cannot heal him with my current abilities."
Her expression became slightly sad.
"I’m sorry, Master."
Kaiser shook his head.
"Don’t apologize."
He looked at his father.
"At least now we know what is wrong."
His mother wiped her eyes.
"For so long, no healer could explain his condition."
"Some said he had been cursed. Others said his body had been affected by some unknown disease."
She took a deep breath.
"Even after we consulted high-level priests, nothing worked."
She looked at Selene.
"But now we finally know."
A small smile appeared on her face through her tears.
"Thank you, Selene."
Selene bowed.
"I’m sorry that I couldn’t heal him."
Kaiser’s mother shook her head.
"You still helped us."
"Now we know what we need to treat."
Kaiser remained silent.
He stared at his father for several seconds.
His mind was already working.
The problem is his soul.
He suddenly remembered his Death Genesis authority.
Then another thought came to him.
His eyes slowly lit up.
"If the problem is the soul..."
Kaiser looked at his own status.
His Death Genesis Authority allowed him to create skills. It was the same authority that had allowed him to create the Mythic-Rank Undead Creation skill.
Now, he had another skill in mind.
This one could not only help his father, but could also greatly improve Kaiser’s own survivability for as long as he lived.
"Mom, I have an idea that might be able to heal Dad. Just wait. By the end of the day, I’ll have a way to help him."
Kaiser grabbed his mother’s hand and quickly pulled her toward the door.
"Mom, I’m going to the dungeon to level up. When I return, we’ll have a big family dinner, so make sure Dad’s favorite dishes are ready."
He paused and smiled confidently.
"Don’t worry, Mom. I’m certain this will work."
His mother looked at him for a moment before smiling.
"I’ll be waiting."
She then turned toward her husband and walked back to his bedside.
She gently held his hand and looked at his sleeping face.
"Did you see how much our little Kaiser has grown?"
She smiled through her tears.
"So wake up, you old pervert. At this rate, you might even miss your son’s wedding."
A few tears rolled down her cheeks.
She quickly wiped them away and stood up.
She had been waiting for years for her husband to wake up, and now, for the first time, she had a possible way to help him.
She decided to trust her son.
"If Kaiser says it will work, then I’ll believe him."
With that thought, she left the room.
She planned to go shopping and prepare everything for the family dinner.
Meanwhile, Kaiser had already arrived at the Fallen Holy Kingdom Dungeon.
He had several reasons for choosing this dungeon.
The monsters here possessed Gold and Light affinities, allowing him to obtain materials and skills that could be useful to him.
He also wanted to let Selene level up.
Since it was a Level 100 dungeon, she could continue gaining experience from the monsters inside the dungeon till she reach level 100. The dungeon would also give her plenty of opportunities to create Blood Rose Knights from the corpses of powerful monsters.
Kaiser also had another goal.
He wanted to create a powerful undead with a Holy affinity that could use healing skills.
If he could obtain one, it would give him another method of healing and supporting his allies.
Overall, the dungeon could help him accomplish several goals at once.
After entering the dungeon, Kaiser and his group soon arrived before the ruins of a massive cathedral city.
The place had once been the glorious capital of a powerful holy kingdom.
However, everything had changed after its Pope had fallen from grace and caused destruction throughout the kingdom.
The once-great capital had eventually become a massive ruin filled with undead and other unholy creatures.
Over time, it had transformed into a dungeon.
Kaiser looked toward the ruined city.
"Let’s split up."
He summoned Molten Slime and Grand Blood Warlock.
"Molten Slime, stay with me and guard the area."
Molten Slime nodded.
Kaiser then looked at Grand Blood Warlock and Selene.
"You go with her and help her level up."
He pointed toward the ruined city.
"Kill everything you encounter. Selene, collect the corpses of the stronger monsters, especially the mini-bosses and the final boss."
Selene nodded.
"Understood, Master."
She turned toward the ruined city.
As she moved forward, her appearance began to change.
The elegant dress she had been wearing transformed into a tight-fitting battle outfit made from dark red material.
The new outfit allowed her to move freely while also providing better protection.
Selene and Grand Blood Warlock soon disappeared into the ruins.
Kaiser watched them leave before turning toward Molten Slime.
"Let’s stay here for now."
Molten Slime nodded.
Kaiser then sat down and opened his Cosmic System.
"Skill Creation."
A familiar notification appeared.
[Skill Creation has started.]
[Genesis of Death Authority detected.]
[You currently possess 4 available Skill Creation attempts.]
Kaiser looked at the notification.
He had already used his first creation to make Undead Creation.
This would be his second attempt.
He already knew what kind of skill he wanted.
