Happily, he hummed as he stirred the pot.

A few minutes later, Kaiser heard footsteps coming from the hallway.

He turned around and saw his parents walking into the kitchen together.

His father looked completely different from how he had looked earlier.

There was no weakness in his body, no sign of the injuries he had suffered years ago, and no trace of the damage caused by his long coma.

Death Transfer had removed everything negative from his father’s body and transferred it to the zombie. Since the zombie had been destroyed afterward, nothing had been left behind.

His father looked as healthy as he had been before the accident.

He even looked like someone who had simply woken up after a long and comfortable sleep.

Kaiser looked at him for a moment before smiling.

"Dad, you look pretty healthy."

His father moved his arms and stretched his body.

"I feel healthy."

He walked around the kitchen for a moment before looking at Kaiser.

"I honestly feel like I just woke up from a very long nap."

His mother smiled through the tears that were still visible on her face.

"You were asleep for years."

His father looked at her in surprise.

"Years?"

She nodded.

"Yes. A very long time."

His father became quiet for a moment before looking at Kaiser.

"So you were taking care of your mother all this time?"

Kaiser shook his head.

"We took care of each other."

His father smiled.

"That’s good."

He then looked toward the pot on the stove.

"Are you cooking?"

Kaiser nodded.

"Mom left the food half-cooked when I called her, so I decided to finish it."

His father laughed.

"I didn’t know you could cook."

"I had to learn."

His mother immediately smiled.

"He actually cooks quite well."

His father looked at Kaiser with some surprise.

"My little boy can cook now?"

Kaiser rolled his eyes.

"I’m not a little boy anymore."

His father looked at him from head to toe before nodding.

"You’re right. You’ve grown quite a lot."

Kaiser continued stirring the food.

"Sit down. Dinner will be ready soon."

His father pulled out a chair and sat down beside his wife.

For a while, neither of them said much.

His mother kept looking at her husband as if she still could not believe that he was really sitting there.

His father noticed this and smiled.

"You can stop looking at me like that. I’m not going anywhere."

His mother laughed softly.

"I’m just happy."

"I know."

Kaiser watched them for a moment before turning back toward the stove.

He was happy as well.

After years of worrying about his father, he could finally see his family sitting together again.

Soon, the food was ready.

Kaiser placed the dishes on the table and sat down with his parents.

His father took the first bite and nodded approvingly.

"Not bad."

Kaiser smiled.

"Only not bad?"

His father took another bite.

"Alright, it’s good."

His mother laughed.

"You should be grateful. He learned to cook because of us."

His father looked at Kaiser with a warm smile.

"Then I owe you one."

Kaiser shook his head.

"You don’t owe me anything. Just stay healthy from now on."

His father nodded.

"I will."

The three of them continued eating together while talking about what had happened during the years he had been asleep.

After a while, Kaiser’s father looked at him.

"By the way, what about your bonded beast? I’d like to see it."

Kaiser nodded.

"Sure."

He put down his spoon and summoned his bonded beast.

A golden light appeared beside him, and the Golden Fate Goblin King appeared.

His father looked at the small creature for a moment.

Kaiser had already told his mother that his bonded beast was simply a Light Gnome King, and he intended to keep the same story with his father.

"This is my Light Gnome King."

His father stared at the Golden Fate Goblin King for a few seconds.

He knew what a normal Light Gnome King looked like.

One of his friends had a Light Gnome King as a bonded beast, so he could easily tell that the creature in front of him was different.

However, he did not say anything.

His son had managed to awaken him from a condition that even high-ranking priests had been unable to cure.

There was clearly something unusual about Kaiser’s abilities.

’It seems my son awakened a powerful talent.’

His father did not ask any further questions.

He understood that some things were better left unspoken.

The less people knew about someone’s abilities, the safer that person would be.

So he simply nodded.

"He’s quite cute."

Kaiser smiled.

"He’s useful too."

His father nodded and continued eating.

After a while, he looked at his wife.

"Honey, where is Myre? I haven’t seen him."

Myre was their Rank 2 Healing Dew Turtle and his wife’s bonded beast.

His mother smiled.

"He’s at the hospital. He’s working there while I rest."

Kaiser immediately looked at his mother.

"You’ve been working at the hospital this whole time?"

His mother nodded.

"Yes."

Kaiser lowered his head slightly.

He could already imagine how much his mother had been working.

She had been using her Healing Dew Turtle to help patients for half the day, and then she had continued working herself afterward.

She had been doing everything she could to support the family while taking care of his father.

Kaiser felt guilty when he thought about how hard she had worked all these years.

"Mom, you don’t need to work anymore."

His mother looked at him.

Kaiser continued eating before speaking.

"You’ve done enough. Dad is awake now, so you should rest more."

Earlier, he had tried to persuade her many times to stop working, but she always said that working helped her improve her healing abilities. So, she never stopped, even when he showed her that he is earning a lot of money.

But now, she no longer had any reason to work so hard, especially now that his father was awake and fully healed.

His mother looked toward her husband.

He was sitting beside her without any life-support machines connected to him.

There was no reason for her to keep working herself to exhaustion anymore.

She gave Kaiser a gentle smile and nodded.

"Okay."

His father looked at her and smiled as well.

"You should listen to him."

His mother nodded.

"I think I will."

Kaiser smiled.

For the first time in years, his mother no longer needed to spend every day worrying about his father’s condition.

Now that his father was healthy again, their family could finally live normally.
