Ashley knew some of the vehicles were bugged with cameras. She was the one who had told Rum to install them and Gin to activate the feeds if it ever came to that.

She had to admit, though, that a chase was the last thing she wanted.

All she needed was the information. She could’ve thought of a replacement for her proposal if the chase didn’t happen.

But alas...

Here she was.

Ashley clenched her teeth, glancing to the side. As she ascended the ramp, she got a clearer view of the chaos unfolding on the highway.

Getting caught up in that mess wasn’t ideal.

Shifting her gaze ahead, her eyes landed on the cars at the front.

"Gin," she whispered. "Still watching?"

"Yes!" Gin shouted through her earpiece. "What do you need, Boss?"

"Did you do what I told you just now?" she asked breathlessly. "Are we live?"

Gin raised his brows, keeping his attention on the drone footage above the highway.

Currently, Gin was in the chopper hovering above the city to maintain the signal, with Khan piloting it from a safe distance.

"I’ve just connected it," Gin replied. "Boss, are you hungry for fame? We’re not making a movie here!"

"Not a movie... yep." Ashley made a sharp turn.

Without hesitation, she accelerated, building momentum as she headed straight for the ramp.

Unlike everyone watching who held their breath, Ashley remained eerily calm as the motorcycle launched into the air.

All she needed to do now was land properly.

And she would.

She had to.

Little did she know, they didn’t even need the additional drone shot. The motorcycle she had gotten her hands on happened to be one of the vehicles Rum had bugged with a camera.

THUD!

Ashley’s motorcycle slammed onto the roof of a moving vehicle, bouncing from the impact and leaving a large dent behind.

She gripped the handlebars tightly, fighting to maintain control.

VROOM!

Fortunately, she managed to steady the bike. She twisted the throttle, sending the motorcycle surging forward.

HONK!

Ashley glanced toward the other lane and caught Gustav staring at her, wide-eyed and slack-jawed. His window was down, leaving his horrified expression on full display.

Looking past him, she caught Lucian’s gaze.

He nodded at her, and she nodded back before whipping her attention forward.

*****

Scott swallowed hard as he glanced at his side mirror, catching sight of the motorcycle joining the party.

"What the— Is that one of our men?!" Marshal screamed when he saw the motorcycle revving behind them.

BANG! BANG!

Marshal immediately ducked when he peeked out and saw the rider aiming a gun at them.

His face twisted in horror, his mind racing even faster than the vehicle. His heart was pounding so violently that it hurt.

"I think I’m going to faint," he muttered, clutching his chest.

He peeked behind them again, panic written all over his wrinkled face.

It had already been several minutes since they entered the city, yet the car that had been tailing them was still there.

Not to mention another threat had practically dropped out of the sky!

But Marshal’s downward spiral was the least of Scott’s concerns.

Scott drove deeper into the city, veering off the main road and taking turn after turn through the narrowest alleys their vehicle could fit through.

The car crashed through empty stands outside closed establishments, leaving a trail of destruction everywhere they went.

Hah.

Scott laughed bitterly to himself.

I don’t know whether I should feel proud... or regretful.

After spending several minutes racing through the city, the complete absence of people told him Ashley had something to do with it.

Everyone knew what might happen tonight, and as much as possible, no one wanted anything to do with it.

The question was, how had Ashley convinced everyone in this place to cooperate?

This was their turf.

Turning it upside down would require far more than money.

"Whatever it was..." Scott breathed.

He pulled out his gun and rolled down the window. The moment his arm was outside, he opened fire behind them.

BANG!

BANG!

Her motorcycle swerved sharply from side to side. None of the bullets hit her, but they were enough to force her back, creating a short gap between them.

"Shit," Ashley hissed, her eyes glinting dangerously.

She pulled out her own pistol and aimed for the tires.

But firing accurately while riding at this speed with one hand was difficult enough. The narrow, uneven streets only made it worse.

After one failed attempt, she lowered the gun, keeping it clutched in the same hand gripping the handlebar.

"I need to close in," she muttered. "Lucian, you there?"

"Behind you."

"He’s trying to lose us," she continued. "I don’t know exactly where he’s going, but based on the direction we’re headed, I think... he’s trying to reach another part of the city."

Ashley paused, steadying her breathing. "I don’t think that part of town is enjoying the bets."

Everyone connected to the intercom immediately understood.

Their expressions darkened.

In other words, Scott was heading toward an area where civilians still remained.

And once they reached it, they couldn’t continue fighting this blatantly unless they wanted to make even more enemies.

Soon enough, Ashley shot out from the end of the street and onto another freeway.

Up ahead was an intersection.

Gustav, sitting in the passenger seat, darted his eyes toward the road ahead.

"Uh... Master?" he called when he spotted a massive trailer truck speeding toward the intersection from the other direction. "I think we need to slow down."

But as soon as the words left his mouth, Lucian slammed his foot on the gas.

"Shit," Gustav breathed, his heart thudding against his ribs.

If his calculations were correct, they weren’t going to make it.

And it wasn’t just them.

Ashley wasn’t slowing down either.

"Master!!" Gustav shouted, grabbing onto anything he could as Scott’s car raced through the intersection just before the trailer truck reached it.

The instant Scott’s vehicle passed, the massive trailer sped across the intersection, completely blocking their view.

And yet, neither Lucian nor Ashley slowed down.

"Baby," Ashley’s voice echoed through the intercom. "I’m going in. Wait for me. I’ll tell you where he is."

Gustav almost heaved a sigh of relief—almost. But Lucian just had to reply;

"Not your call, darling."

Gustav’s eyes widened in horror, staring at Lucian incredulously. But before he could even react, his entire world seemed to slow down.

Ashley suddenly dropped her body to the side of the motorcycle, her hands still gripping the handlebars.

The bike tilted sharply and slowly, going lower and lower until its side scraped against the pavement, sparks flying behind it.

Ashley stretched one leg outward for balance, nearly her entire body hanging off the side of the motorcycle as she flattened herself against it.

Then, she slid straight beneath the trailer. Through the tiny gap between its undercarriage and the road.

Gustav didn’t even have time to be impressed.

Because the trailer truck was now coming dangerously close to them.

"MASTER—!"

Lucian jerked the steering wheel. Their car obviously couldn’t fit beneath a trailer. But it could fit through the opening in traffic created behind it.

And Lucian took full advantage of that.

He swung the car around, cut through the gap, and crossed into the next lane.

The moment the trailer cleared their view, there they were.

Scott’s car in the distance and Ashley already racing after him.

Meanwhile, Marshal twisted around in his seat and looked behind them.

All he saw was the massive trailer blocking the road.

"Haha..." A shaky laugh escaped him. "We lost them. We lost—"

His words died in his throat as sparks suddenly appeared beneath the trailer.

Following that, a motorcycle came sliding out from underneath it, nearly horizontal against the road.

Marshal’s eyes bulged.

The rider pulled the motorcycle upright in one smooth motion before mounting it properly again and accelerating after them.

"WHO THE HELL WAS THAT?!"

Scott had seen the entire thing through his rearview mirror. He hissed through clenched teeth before snapping his gaze back to the road.

"Your worst enemy."
