My Seed Gives Systems In The Apocalypse

Chapter 95: With Great Marriages, Comes Great Understanding

Outside the Camry, Rose was already wrapping up her process.

The moment she laid down the absolute command that Selene would serve as her thrall until her mind recovered, the girl’s body began to shimmer with a faint, ghostly luminescence. Flecks of blue-white mana drifted down over her like falling flower petals, soaking directly into her flesh.

Under that supernatural light, the jagged bite mark on Selene’s exposed arm and the surrounding tears in her skin knit back together, sealing seamlessly without leaving a trace of a scar.

Her skin tone remained that eerie, pale grey typical of the infected, but the rotting texture was gone completely, replaced by a smooth, unblemished surface that mirrored Rose’s own unnatural perfection. Aside from the curling horns crowning Rose’s head, the two of them looked like a striking pair of twin dolls—one draped in crimson, the other crowned in vibrant, dyed-blue hair.

However, the second the binding spell settled into place, Rose casually turned her head toward the car.

Her bright smile instantly flattened out.

Through the rear window, she saw Fredrinn locked in intense, private eye contact with Jenny, the space between them shrinking as they stared straight into each other’s eyes.

Up front, Aadav had finally been allowed to look ahead, and his jaw was practically on the dashboard as he drooled over the breathtaking, surreal appearance of the newly reborn Selene. Vivienne, on the other hand, was staring out the passenger window in sheer, stunned disbelief at what had just happened to her student.

"Selene," Rose commanded in a flat, cold tone, not taking her eyes off the Camry. "Tear out and devour the hearts of every dead zombie lying in this street."

Without waiting for an answer, Rose spun on her heel, her red heels clicking sharply against the pavement as she left the obedient student behind to start the gory harvesting. She marched directly toward the car door, her mood souring with every step as she prepared to drag Fredrinn away from the human girl.

Before her fingers could clamp around the door handle, however, a bright, translucent screen snapped open right in front of her face.

The familiar glowing interface. The same mysterious panel that had restored her energy after she extracted that confession from Fredrinn, and the exact same tool that had handed her the intelligence boost just a short while ago.

It was back.

Rose’s hand froze inches from the metal handle. She slowly pulled her fingers back, letting her crimson eyes scan the floating text.

[ Greetings, Rosaline. ]

[ You have received a new quest. ]

[ Quest: With Great Marriages, Comes Great Understandings. ]

[ Requirement: Truly understanding your husband is the cornerstone of maintaining a harmonious bond and becoming an exceptional wife. Question your husband in private and uncover his underlying motives without making a scene. ]

[ Reward: Passive Skill — Succubus Body. ]

Rose stood motionlessly on the asphalt, her brow furrowing slightly as she read through the notification.

The strange phrasing in the quest’s title went entirely over her head, and she had no real clue what a "Succubus Body" actually granted. But those technical details didn’t matter to her in the slightest.

What hit her hard was the stinging, shameful realization that she had been acting like an awful, selfish wife.

Up until now, she had thrown violent tantrums, tried to kill anyone who caught his eye, and demanded his attention non-stop, never once pausing to consider why Fredrinn did the things he did. She hadn’t bothered to look past the surface of his actions.

She let out a quiet, humbled sigh, shaking her head internally.

’Rose thought she got so smart, but Rose is still acting like an idiot,’ she scolded herself. ’If this floating box didn’t pop up and warn me, I would’ve just barged in and ruined whatever Hubby is trying to set up.’

She gave a small, resolute nod, cementing the decision in her mind. ’A good wife supports her man. I won’t interrupt him right now. I’ll just corner him when we’re alone and ask for his reasons then.’

Once she gave up on the idea of ripping the car door open, another thought clicked in her newly upgraded mind: if she wasn’t going to interrupt, she might as well actively help him out!

Rose turned her head toward the front seat. Her teeth gritted slightly when she caught sight of Jenny flashing a small, teasing smile at Fredrinn, but she forced herself to swallow the petty irritation.

Raising a single pale hand, Rose crooked her index finger in a sharp, undeniable gesture, motioning for both Aadav and Vivienne to get the hell out of the vehicle.

Catching the terrifying demon’s direct summons, both Vivienne and Aadav scrambled. Terrified of doing anything that might set her off, they fumbled with their doors and practically fell out onto the asphalt, abandoning the car in a hurry.

Inside the cabin, Fredrinn blinked in genuine surprise, looking through the glass at Rose in utter bewilderment.

Rose met his gaze through the tinted window. Instead of glaring or baring her fangs, she gave him a knowing, wicked smirk. She flicked her vibrant crimson hair over her shoulder with effortless poise and casually broke eye contact, strolling toward the damaged bus as if she hadn’t just orchestrated his entire setup.

Fredrinn swallowed hard, feeling a sudden, electric heat rush straight down his spine.

’Holy shit... is it just my imagination, or did she just get ten times hotter by acting smart?’

"Wait, why did she just call everyone outside?" Jenny asked, her voice snapping him out of his trance. She glanced around the suddenly empty car, her eyes darting between the open doors and the quiet street outside. "Should we be getting out too?"

Being left completely alone in the enclosed backseat with Fredrinn sent a sudden wave of heat straight to Jenny’s cheeks, leaving her feeling intensely awkward and flustered.

Fredrinn tore his gaze away from Rose’s retreating figure, turning back toward Jenny with an easy, relaxed smile.

"No, why would we need to get out?" he murmured, his voice dropping into a smooth, low register as he leaned back into the seat cushion. "Rose is probably just taking them over to clear out the bus. She’s more than capable of handling a few dead bodies on her own."
