My Skills Can Evolve Infinitely in a Game-Like World
Chapter 91: Selene’s Terrifying SideUnlike what its muscular body would suggest, the Goblin Warlock was not a strictly Brawler-type Class.
Or at the very least, its physical strength was far from being the only thing this Rank 3 goblin relied on.
As the blood-red runes engraved on its body lit up, elements gathered before it.
They merged together, transforming into a revolving sphere made from murky, green liquid.
Under its command, the sphere separated into countless drops that crashed down, spreading across the plain like drops of rain.
Each droplet seemed far from threatening. They appeared ordinary–aside from their eerie appearance.
Yet as their green color was reflected in Aurelius’ azure eyes, he felt a chill run down his spine.
Danger!
He instantly recognized that this was not an attack he could afford to face head-on.
Just as he was about to defend, using Solar Manifestation, the three skills he had just learned, and the Sea God’s Trident, Selene took action.
Surrounded by the silver brilliance descending from the moon, she calmly raised her hand and pointed her finger toward the sky.
The celestial body hovering above her head seemed to heed her call.
Strands of celestial power fell, weaving a veil of silver brilliance above them.
When the unknown green liquid touched it, it suddenly stopped in place.
Unfortunately, the veil was not powerful enough to completely negate the Goblin Warlock’s blow.
Several large cracks appeared and spread throughout its surface. Corrosive liquid seeped from these gaps.
When they fell to the ground, they showcased their extraordinary nature.
Each drop that smashed down was able to create a crater several feet wide, as though it weighed several tons.
Around its landing location, whether it was the grass, the bushes, or any other plant, they were instantly obliterated.
Their very vitality was reaped, consuming their lifespan in an instant.
Aurelius was truly shocked by this scene.
Such power and long range were truly incredible, worthy of being a skill unleashed by a Rank 3 creature.
But just as he was about to continue watching the confrontation between Selene and the Goblin Warlock with great interest, studying their combat methods, his female companion suddenly broke the silence.
"What are you waiting for? Did you get entranced by my beauty and wish to admire me?"
"Come and help me!"
The words that escaped her lips completely shattered her image as the Moon Goddess.
However, they also served to snap Aurelius back to reality. He knew that now was not the time to daydream.
Indeed. He had to help Selene.
Otherwise, she would find it difficult to defend against the opponent even after her strange transformation.
With that thought, Aurelius no longer lingered.
The Sea God’s Trident flew out of the System Inventory and materialized in his hand.
Spirit flowed out of his body and gathered in the air, transforming into water and taking the shape of long arrows.
Water Arrow!
This skill that he had just copied from the illusory figures was now being used in real combat just shortly after.
It was not cast once, but several times.
Dozens of arrows condensed before him, each with power far beyond the last time he had used it.
The Sea God’s Trident’s effects were not limited to those revealed by the Player Panel’s description.
This was something Aurelius had realized long ago.
There were many other hidden effects that this Epic Relic possessed, waiting for him to uncover them.
For example, any water-related skills Aurelius activated would be significantly empowered!
After condensing the Water Arrows, Aurelius directly raised the trident and pointed toward the sky.
The arrows listened to his call. They fired upwards.
They looked ready to collide with the silver veil hanging above his head.
But the two had worked together several times.
Selene seemed to have sensed his intentions.
She acted without needing any reminder.
The veil she had conjured quickly dispersed, with the moonlight returning to the world and soon disappearing.
The Goblin Warlock, however, had no chance to celebrate the destruction of this obstacle.
What replaced the silver veil was not the sight of the plain, but the sharp tips of water arrows, all aiming at him.
Due to their sudden appearance, he had no time to react. He could only act in a hurry, activating his bloodline skills.
The crimson runes running along his skin lit up once again.
This time, not to launch an attack, but to defend.
With a wave of his hands, a large green shield materialized in the air in front of him.
It looked both like something material, as well as something made from harmless liquid.
When the Water Arrows met it, its surface was shoved back, as though a bulge was growing along its body.
That, however, didn’t mean that the shield had failed to withstand the impact.
If anything, it was the exact opposite.
Upon embedding into the green shield, the Water Arrows began to change.
As though they had been corrupted by the shield’s influence, they slowly fused into its surface and disappeared.
Not only did the shield not shatter, but it grew stronger as a result.
Standing behind it, the Goblin Warlock breathed a sigh of relief. He wiped the nonexistent sweat from his forehead while cursing inwardly.
Sure enough! Humans were truly too crafty and insidious! They could not be underestimated no matter how weak they might be!
Thinking of how he had almost lost his life at the hands of two low-Ranked weaklings, the Goblin Warlock burst with fury.
"Ants! You’ve now truly angered me!"
"It’s time you learned the power of Rank 3 beings!"
The moment his words fell, the shield hovering in the air crashed toward Aurelius, as though it were a projectile.
At the same time, the Goblin Warlock also moved toward Selene.
He had already made a judgment.
Between these two people, the ant who brought him the most trouble was this woman.
Exactly because of that, it was she whom he had to take out first!
