"Do you really think I was enjoying it? In the first place, she forced that kiss on me — you saw it yourself. And as for grabbing her ass... that was the only way I could get close enough to plant the seal."

"Hmph!"

Nyxara snorted coldly and turned her head away. "Now explain how you got your hands on such a high-rank treasure."

Nova sighed once more and answered,

"I got it from a friend. His father is a duke. He knew my life was in danger, so he gave me that treasure in advance, believing I would definitely need it someday."

It was another fabricated story. He deliberately structured it this way so that, if she eventually discovered the full truth, he would still have a somewhat believable foundation to work from.

Deep down, Nova had a strong feeling that she would find out everything sooner or later.

Nyxara glared at him, not looking fully convinced. However, as usual, there wasn’t the slightest trace of a lie visible on his face.

Velena simply chose to believe him. Even if he was lying, it no longer mattered — because of him, they had successfully escaped the Abyss.

For some reason, Nova no longer felt completely comfortable lying to them. Still, they were not close enough yet for him to share everything.

And now that Nyxara was intent on following him, he needed to decide whether he should tell her about Rieka and Asia... or continue presenting them as mere "friends" for the time being.

He looked at Nyxara and asked directly,

"Are you really going to follow me?"

Nyxara’s expression shifted, and a small grin appeared on her face.

"Why? Aren’t we husband and wife? Why shouldn’t I follow you?"

Nova couldn’t tell whether she was teasing him or being serious. Velena remained silent, already prepared to follow her princess wherever she decided to go.

"Come on... I’m asking seriously," Nova said, genuinely curious. He needed to figure out how to handle the situation.

Having a Sovereign and an Emperor by his side would certainly keep him safe for a while, but it also created complications.

"Hmph!" Nyxara snorted and glared at him.

"What do you think? I still haven’t punished you. Although you helped me, you’re not off the hook yet."

"I did consider letting you go... but now you’ll be targeted by members of the Twilight Order, and that bitch Elaris as well. I don’t want you dying before I’ve had the chance to punish you properly."

"Even though I’m no match for Elaris, you at least have the youngest Sovereign in the Abyss on your side. Be a little grateful.

And besides... if I truly want to follow you, you won’t be able to stop me."

Nova could only sigh after hearing her words.

{ Just let her follow you, } Liya advised. { Believe me, she won’t kill you. There’s almost no chance of that. And I don’t think she’ll harm the others either... probably. }

Nova decided to trust Liya’s judgment for now. He also realized that, despite everything, he had begun to trust Nyxara to a certain degree. She wasn’t a truly evil person, and Velena seemed largely neutral.

His body was already recovering at an astonishing speed. Thanks to his new physique, demonic regeneration, and the Vitality Core, he had already regained about thirty percent of his condition.

He stood up properly and spoke.

"Alright. Since you’re determined to follow me, and your target is only me... I want you to promise me something."

Both Nyxara and Velena raised their eyebrows, curious about what kind of request required a formal promise. Nyxara was not offended. Since she intended to follow him, she was at least willing to listen.

For now, her instincts simply told her to agree. She asked,

"What do you want me to promise?"

Nova smiled slightly and answered,

"I want you to promise that you won’t harm anyone close to me when you eventually meet them."

Nyxara narrowed her eyes and replied coldly,

"Why would I harm anyone without a reason? What exactly do you take me for?"

A faint trace of killing intent leaked from her body as she spoke. Nova gulped but still pressed the matter.

"Just promise me. That’s all I’m asking."

Nyxara was clearly displeased, but she still needed to follow him. After a moment, she snorted and answered,

"...I promise."

Nova smiled after hearing her reply. With that matter settled, he focused on returning to his wives as soon as possible. He looked at both Nyxara and Velena and said,

"Alright. Now that it’s decided, the two of you should take your human forms. I’ll do the same. We’re on the human continent now, and our demonic auras will only create unnecessary problems."

Even though they were currently deep within the Abyssal Entrance — an area filled with high-level Emperor Realm demonic beasts — Nyxara was still releasing a controlled portion of her Sovereign aura into the surroundings to keep the beasts at a distance.

Both women nodded. In the next moment, they shifted into their human forms. Nova deactivated his Chaotic Demon Transformation as well, returning to his original human appearance.

He was still just as handsome as before, though his upper body remained bare. Without wasting time, he took out a fresh set of clothes similar to what he usually wore.

A pair of black pants, a matching dark shirt, and this time a brown adventurer’s jacket that fitted his frame well, giving him a practical yet sharp look.

When he turned to look at Nyxara and Velena, he found that almost nothing major had changed about them. They were still every bit as breathtaking as before.

Their ears had become fully human, and their horns had disappeared. Their skin had already been human-like, so there was no visible change there.

Velena’s tail — the one similar to Elaris’s that she usually kept hidden, and which Nova had only noticed later — had also vanished completely.

Standing there now, the two of them looked less like demonesses and more like human goddesses. Not even the slightest trace of demonic aura leaked from their bodies.

As Royal demons one a Sovereign and the other an Emperor — both Nyxara and Velena were fully capable of completely concealing their demonic presence without raising any suspicion.

Nova found himself staring at them without realizing it. At the same time, both Nyxara and Velena were looking at his human form for the first time.

Even without the violet highlights in his hair and eyes, he still looked just as striking. His pitch-black hair and deep dark eyes, resembling bottomless voids, seemed to draw both women’s attention for a moment.

Nyxara was the first to break out of the brief trance.

"What are you staring at, you pervert?!"

Nova was momentarily stunned.

Weren’t you staring as well? he thought, but wisely chose not to say it out loud. Arguing with her was pointless — she was far too stubborn.

Instead, he simply replied,

"I wasn’t staring. You two don’t look any different... you’re still just as beautiful as before."

A faint redness spread across Nyxara’s cheeks at his words. Velena, on the other hand, simply responded in her usual calm tone.

"Thank you for the compliment, Lord Nova."

Nyxara glanced at Velena and wondered how she could remain so calm and answer without the slightest reaction.

That idiot just said something embarrassing... Wait, what am I even thinking? Nyxara thought to herself.

Velena had always been like that. She only showed normal emotions and reactions during moments of danger or other special occasions.

But this time, Nyxara was wrong.

Just like her, Velena also felt a faint flutter in her stomach after receiving such a straightforward compliment. She simply didn’t show it, carefully avoiding the kind of flustered reaction Nyxara had displayed.

Deep down, she knew these feelings were wrong. The man in front of her was someone her princess someone she regarded almost like a daughter — clearly had complicated feelings for.

And yet, the natural urges of a woman... and those of a half-succubus... were not so easy to suppress.

Nyxara looked back at him and said sharply,

"Shut up, you idiot."

She then continued in a more practical tone,

"Now tell me where we need to go. I’ll open a portal, and we can arrive there instantly."

Nova nodded. He was finally prepared and ready to return to his family. A strong sense of excitem

ent filled him — he had missed them dearly. At the same time, a faint nervousness lingered in his heart.

This time... he wasn’t returning alone.
