Chapter 14: Chapter 14: A Seductively Perfect Return

Jenna stood in the kitchen, humming a soft tune as she sliced vegetables.

I don’t know how long she watched me standing there, screaming at the system.

She changed her dress to a robe, which was loosely tied around her waist, slipping down her shoulder just enough to be distracting.

I sat on the barstool across from her, tapping my fingers against the marble counter.

My mind was racing a mile a minute.

’A Bronze Roulette.’

The red text of the system quest was burned into my memory.

’I have to shatter her mental composure without going all the way, just for a random spin.’

The ridiculousness of my situation wasn’t lost on me.

I was a guy from another world, forced into a Succubus class, and my only path to survival was seducing this hot mature woman in the city.

The silence in the room stretched out. It wasn’t a bad silence, but the anticipation was hanging in the air between us.

She knew what had happened this morning. I knew what I needed to do tonight. I just needed to figure out how to navigate the strict boundaries the system set up for me without making her suspicious.

"You are staring," Jenna noted.

"Hard not to," I replied.

"It’s not every day a guild master cooks dinner in a sexy robe."

Jenna chuckled.

"Consider it a rare privilege, Revien. I don’t usually do domestic work. But after the morning we had, I figured we both needed a proper meal."

"How was the day?"

Jenna paused her chopping and glanced up at me, a small smile playing on her lips.

"It’s fine. Good enough."

"Mm."

I nodded, watching the way she moved. Graceful, precise, but relaxed.

She slid the vegetables into a steaming pan, the sizzling sound echoing through the room.

"How was my daughter?"

I leaned forward on the counter, resting my chin on my hand.

"Gianna was sweet. I think we’ll get along just fine."

"Sweet?" Jenna repeated.

"Gianna is many things, but sweet is rarely the word people use to describe her. She has a temper."

"She has spirit," I corrected.

"She just needs a little direction. And maybe someone who won’t back down when she gets bossy."

"That’s good," Jenna said, turning the stove down to a simmer.

She wiped her hands on a towel and leaned against the counter, facing me.

"You have to train with her."

"I will," I promised, holding her gaze.

"I will make her stronger, too. That’s my job as her supporter, isn’t it?"

Jenna nodded, her expression softening into something genuine.

"That’s what I want. Having support this early will help a lot in the future for her. The Academy is unforgiving, and the rival guilds are always watching. They will try to find any weakness they can exploit. You need to be her shield."

"She seems strong, too," I pointed out.

"She moves fast. Her instincts are sharp."

"And yet you beat her without breaking a sweat."

"I was shocked too," I admitted.

’More like terrified. I almost crippled her by using my skill.’

"I didn’t expect the skill to work so fast."

"Don’t be," Jenna advised, stepping around the island to set a plate of food in front of me.

She leaned in close.

"Get used to it, Revien. You are far more capable than you realize. Your charm alone makes you a dangerous asset."

We ate in relative quiet after that.

The food was delicious, a rich mix of spices and tender meat, but I could barely focus on the taste.

Every time I looked up, I caught Jenna watching me. Her eyes held a lingering heat that made my skin prickle.

The awkwardness from earlier was slowly melting away, replaced by something sensual.

’She wants me to make the first move.’ I took a slow breath, pushing my half-empty plate away.

’The system said I have to maintain her direct order. She has to be the one setting the boundary, and I have to push her right to the edge of it.’

"Finished already?"

"I’m full," I lied, offering a small smile.

"It was great, though. Thank you."

Jenna stood up and collected our plates, carrying them over to the sink.

"You seem distracted tonight."

"Just thinking," I replied, standing up and following her.

"Processing everything that happened today."

"It is a lot to take in," she agreed, turning the water on.

"But you are adapting well."

"I have good motivation," I murmured, stepping close enough that my chest almost brushed against her back.

She paused, the running water the only sound in the kitchen.

"Is that so?"

"Yeah."

She didn’t push me away. She dried her hands and walked past me toward the hallway, her hips swaying deliberately.

I trailed right behind her, my heart thumping loudly against my ribs. The bedroom was exactly as we left it this morning. The large bed was still unmade, the sheets tangled from our earlier encounter. The city lights outside the window cast a glow across the floor, lighting up the room just enough to see her clearly.

Jenna stopped at the edge of the bed and turned around.

The robe fell open just a fraction more, revealing the curve of her collarbone.

She looked beautiful, commanding, and highly expectant.

"So," she murmured, stepping closer.

"Are you going to keep thinking, or are you going to do something useful?"

I reached out and gently gripped her waist, feeling the warmth of her skin through the thin fabric.

Here goes nothing.

"I want to do something," I said.

"Something very specific."

"Like?"

"I want to go down on you."
