My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World
Chapter 22: Chains of SubmissionChapter 22: Chapter 22: Chains of Submission
"Will being honest get me through?"
"No."
Well, that throws a huge wrench into my plans.
I would have to practice lying straight to the faces of psychics. Maybe my high charm stat provided some kind of mental interference against truth-readers, but I wasn’t going to bet
my life on it just yet. I needed a backup plan.
"Okay then."
I clapped my hands together, shifting the focus back to the present moment.
"Now what should we do? Are we going to spar? Are you going to teach me some judo throws?"
She pointed a finger toward the far corner of the padded room.
"We need a baseline first. Let’s do this. Go and fight that."
I followed her finger.
Standing silently in the corner was a featureless humanoid dummy made of some pale synthetic material.
"A doll?" I squinted at it, highly unimpressed.
"Yes."
She walked over to a digital wall panel and typed in a quick, practiced passcode.
The dummy, which had been still just a second ago, suddenly clicked to life. The pale synthetic shell shifted dramatically.
Its torso expanded, internal springs popping loudly out of its joints as it grew half a foot taller right in front of my eyes.
The featureless material reconfigured itself, gaining broad, imposing shoulders and a thick neck.
It dropped into a flawless, bouncing fighting stance, the rubber soles of its feet squeaking sharply against the padded floor.
Oversized, heavily weighted boxing gloves snapped seamlessly over its featureless wrists with a highly intimidating thud.
I swallowed hard, taking an involuntary step backward.
It didn’t have a face, no eyes to stare me down, but I swear it looked highly eager to hurt me.
It bounced left and right, throwing two lightning-fast test jabs into the empty air, the wind whistling off the heavy gloves.
"I’m setting it on easy."
Gianna stepped back to the absolute edge of the room, leaning against the wall with a highly satisfied expression.
"Ten minutes. Try not to pass out."
"Change it to five."
"You are the one with potential S-rank buffs."
Her tone was dripping with sarcasm, throwing my earlier confidence right back in my face.
"I never said that."
"Who talked so big in the car? Try it."
The doll tapped its padded gloves together twice, the sound echoing sharply in the wide room, directly challenging me to make the first move.
Then, without any warning, it lunged straight at my face faster than a speeding car.
"Fuck."
Gianna leaned back against the wall, crossing her arms over her chest with an expectant smirk.
"Don’t trip over your own feet."
"Watch and learn, Gia."
"Stop calling me that!"
The dummy didn’t wait for us to finish bantering.
My eyes tracked the movement effortlessly. Time seemed to slow down just a fraction, a direct result of my newly boosted perception stat. I shifted my weight, taking a casual half-step backward.
The foot sliced through the empty air right where my chest had been a split second before.
Whoa.
The dummy landed lightly on its feet, immediately pivoting to launch a rapid flurry of punches toward my face.
I weaved to the left, ducked under a heavy right hook, and swayed back to avoid a quick jab.
I didn’t even raise my hands to block. I just let my body naturally avoid every single strike, slipping past the oversized gloves by mere inches.
"Stand still!"
Gianna shouted from the corner, her earlier amusement quickly turning into loud irritation.
"Are you just going to run away?"
"I am observing its attack patterns!" I called back, dipping low as a roundhouse kick sailed over my hair.
"It is a training doll! You are supposed to hit it back!"
"Patience is a virtue!"
The dummy pressed the assault, its synthetic joints popping as it doubled its attack speed.
A rapid sequence of jabs forced me backward toward the edge of the bouncy floor.
Dodging was fun, but I didn’t have any formal martial arts training to launch a proper counterattack yet.
I needed an opening.
’System, help me out here. Analyze this thing and give me some tips.’
A blue window blinked into existence right in the middle of my vision, hovering seamlessly over the attacking dummy.
[Analyzing Target...]
[Target: Synthetic Vanguard Construct.]
[Status: Operating on default beginner combat routines.]
[Weakness: The construct relies on forward momentum. Its center of gravity shifts excessively to the left knee right before launching a heavy cross. Exploit the blind spot during the wind-up.]
Perfect.
"Stop dancing and fight!" Gianna uncrossed her arms, stepping away from the wall.
"If you don’t land a hit in the next ten seconds, I am turning the difficulty up to hard!"
"No need!"
I kept my eyes locked on the dummy’s legs. Just as the system predicted, the figure planted its left foot hard into the mat, shifting its entire weight forward to deliver a crushing right cross.
Instead of stepping back this time, I stepped aggressively forward, slipping right under its extended arm and stepping cleanly into its blind spot.
I raised my right hand, focusing the warm mana swirling in my chest directly into my palm.
Ethereal chains of blue energy erupted from my fingers.
They shot forward like vipers, wrapping securely around the dummy’s wrists and ankles. The chains pulled taut, halting the construct’s momentum instantly and locking it firmly in place.
It struggled against the binds, the internal springs whining under the pressure, but the ethereal links held tight.
"I told you not to use it."
"I’m trying something different."
The moment the construct was fully restrained, a new system prompt flashed brightly in front of my face.
[Target Bound. Select Chain Property:
1. Forced Submission
2. Appraisal
3. Combat Weapon]
Can I use it like this?
My mind raced through the options.
Forced Submission was what I accidentally used on Gianna yesterday, triggering the energy siphon that drained her stamina.
Using it on a synthetic doll wouldn’t do anything beneficial.
Appraisal would just give me more boring stats.
But combat weapon?
That sounded entertaining.
"Three."
The system chimed in acknowledgment. The blue chains wrapped around the dummy’s limbs suddenly shifted, losing their ethereal glow and solidifying into physical links that connected directly back to my own hands.
The binds no longer felt like a simple restraining spell. They felt like an extension of my own body, anchoring the doll to my grip.
"Let’s test this out!"
I dug my heels into the bouncy mat, gripping the solid chains tight. Using my boosted strength, I spun on my heel, pulling the chains with everything I had.
The dummy was yanked off its feet.
"Whoa!" Gianna ducked instinctively as the featureless construct went flying through the air in a wide arc.
I kept the momentum going, acting like a human centrifuge.
Swoosh.
The solid chains whipped the heavy doll around in a full circle before I finally released my grip. The figure launched across the wide room like a cannonball, soaring past Gianna and crashing brutally into the reinforced far wall.
Bang.
The dummy slid slowly down the mirrored glass, collapsing into a heap on the padded floor, its limbs twisted at highly awkward angles.
[Target Neutralized.]
I stood in the center of the room, dusting off my hands with a highly satisfied smile.
My breathing was elevated.
"How was that for a baseline?"
