My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World
Chapter 21: It’s called mana exchange, Look it upChapter 21: Chapter 21: It’s called mana exchange, Look it up
I stopped in my tracks, my sneakers squeaking slightly against the floor. I tilted my head toward the door, completely bewildered.
Someone inside was having a very good time, and they were not holding back their vocal appreciation.
The thumping sound hitting the wall wasn’t a sword strike.
It sounded like a scene straight out of an adult film, echoing right in the middle of a premier combat facility.
"That’s some intimate training right there."
I tugged on her sleeve, pointing squarely at the door we just passed. Gianna rolled her eyes, remaining unbothered by the explicit noises.
She didn’t even break her stride.
"You think power only comes from working out?"
"Oh."
Realisation hit me hard.
I was holding the Succubus class, but hearing it casually happening in a public gym setting still caught me off guard.
"So they are... sharing, huh?"
"It’s a valid cultivation method for specific utility classes. Mana exchange requires physical connection. Some classes need more connection than others. It is highly efficient."
’Highly efficient.’
I thought about the Submission and Vital Drain Kiss sitting comfortably in my newly updated skill list.
If this world openly normalized dual cultivation as a standard training method, my job would be a walk in the park.
No one would even bat an eye at me buffing my teammates through physical contact.
It wasn’t a taboo. It was just another day at the gym for these people.
I jogged to keep up with her, glancing back at the door one last time before a playful smirk returned to my face.
I bumped my shoulder gently against hers, pushing my luck just a little bit more.
"Wanna try that later?"
"Keep your eyes forward, creep. We have a schedule."
Her cheeks finally flashed a faint shade of pink as she tightened her grip on her duffel bag, marching straight toward room seven.
"So there are guys here?" I glanced back at the door, where the unmistakable sounds were still echoing freely into the hallway.
Gianna kept walking, unfazed by the noise.
"People from all over the sector train here. Some bring their support."
"...Wait."
My brain quickly did the math, remembering the varied pitches of the sounds coming from the room.
"That means there is more than one woman in there."
"Obviously. A low-tier support can withstand five women simultaneously."
Holy fuck.
That was a literal dream come true for most guys, a scenario straight out of a degenerate novel.
But the logical, practical part of my brain immediately caught up with the wild fantasy.
I pictured some poor, completely exhausted dude, drained of stamina.
Because the second he finished transferring mana with the fifth woman, the first one would have already regained all her energy and be ready for round two.
It would be a never-ending cycle of forced performance just to keep the team powered up.
"That sounds like a nightmare."
Gianna looked over her shoulder, her expression surprisingly calm, carefully analyzing my reaction.
"I thought you would enjoy it. Men usually brag about things like that."
"Even after being raised for that purpose."
"Yeah. They think the more they fuck, the more they are superior."
"I’m a one-girl guy."
"Yeah, right."
"I’m serious. It might be hard for me due to the class and my specific power set, considering I literally possess something that is designed for intimacy. But I don’t lust after everyone I see. I have standards."
"I don’t want to know that."
"I want you to know that."
She didn’t reply, just picked up her pace toward our designated room.
"Can I meet with some of the dudes here?"
"They won’t allow it."
"Why not? Are they kept in cages?"
"Because a fight might break out between team members over territory and access. Men are rare. Guilds are territorial about their support assets, and letting them mingle causes unnecessary friction."
Entering our rented room, I found it was just a wide space with a surprisingly soft, bouncy floor designed to absorb impacts.
Various practice weapons hung neatly on the walls, ranging from wooden swords to heavy blunt staffs, and there were two small side rooms designated for resting or private mana cultivation.
"Okay, Revien, let’s begin."
She dropped her duffel bag by the wall and turned around to face me, cracking her knuckles.
"Hold on. First question." I stalled, stretching my shoulders to pop my stiff joints.
"What is your power?"
"That is confidential."
"We are literally training partners right now. I am buying your lunch later."
"Still confidential."
"Fine, keep your secrets." I sighed, dropping my arms in defeat.
"Second question, then. What is the most important thing to keep in mind for the entrance test? What am I actually walking into?"
Gianna leaned against the mirrored wall, crossing her arms over her chest, stepping seamlessly into the role of an instructor.
"Academy tests usually have three distinct levels. The first one will test your reaction speed. The next one tests intelligence, and the last one tests your overall strength."
"Intelligence?" I raised a skeptical eyebrow.
"As in solving complex math equations while dodging fireballs?"
"As in ethics and your specific way to solve a critical problem."
She tapped her temple.
"Imagine this scenario. A gate break happens right in the middle of the city. An A-rank monster is rampaging through a crowded shopping district. The Vanguard teams are twenty minutes away. Would you secure the perimeter and wait for backup to minimize your own casualties, or would you jump in to kill it right there, potentially sacrificing civilian lives in the crossfire but stopping the monster from reaching the residential zones?"
I thought about it for two seconds. The choice was obvious for someone who wanted to survive in a crazy world.
"I can just lie and give them the golden hero answer. Save everyone, wait for backup, be the shining beacon of hope."
"You can certainly try."
An amused smirk crept onto her face, like she was watching me walk right into a trap.
"But there will be a senior teacher watching you closely with a specialized truth-reading Specter. It is not about giving the perfect textbook answer, Revien. It is about being honest regarding your actual instincts and your limits."
