My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 932 - 935: Save MeMelody Thorne had just walked a short distance. With a celebrity-like face that everyone recognized, she stood at the intersection, wearing a hat and mask, ready to hail a cab.
Ever since Elias Hale had shown interest in Melody Thorne, Han Shan had been looking for an opportunity to deal with her. With a few days left before departing, how could she not give her a lesson?
"Capture her and bring her to where I’m staying. I want to personally handle this woman!"
"Understood."
Melody Thorne hailed a cab, "To the Thorne Family on Green Street!"
"Alright."
Melody had been dreaming all night, her head ached slightly as she leaned against the car window, closing her eyes. "Let me know when we arrive."
The Thorne Family was not far from the hotel!
"Sure, don’t worry, miss." The driver in the front sneered at the woman leaning against the window through the rearview mirror.
After some time, Melody Thorne, believing they should have arrived, looked out the window and found they were no longer on the main road, heading towards a secluded area.
"Stop, this isn’t the way to the Thorne Family!" Melody said cautiously.
The driver sneered, "Miss Thorne, someone would like to invite you over. You’d better stay quiet for a while, we’ll be there soon!"
"Who is it?" Melody Thorne calmly watched the driver from the front, snapping her bracelet to pull out a string from inside.
"You’ll naturally find out when we get there."
"You might not be able to take me there." Melody swiftly looped the string around the driver’s neck, tightening it, "Stop the car!"
With the string choking him, the driver’s face turned livid but he continued driving.
"Are you planning to die here?" Melody tightened the string with more force. "If you don’t care about your life, then keep driving forward!"
"Cough, cough, release, release, you damned woman!" One hand reached to untie the string.
Melody sharply pulled again, forcing the car to a stop!
She opened the car door and ran outside.
"Quick, catch her!"
The man in the car got out, shouting to a few people standing at the residential entrance not far away.
Melody Thorne had always had poor stamina, especially in running; she wouldn’t get far before being caught. Desperate, she began running up the hill.
Halfway up, she found the area extremely damp and eerie, her shoes soaked by the water. This scene was eerily familiar, as if she’d been here before.
Flashes of images appeared in her mind,
Someone had previously carried her forward, saying the air would be better at the top.
Melody Thorne felt a headache as scenes surged, sometimes clear, sometimes blurry.
"Jared Quinn..."
She called out the name Jared Quinn, following her instincts to continue running upwards.
"Hurry, catch her, don’t let her escape!"
Those behind her pursued relentlessly.
Melody Thorne kept running upwards. The further up she went, the more familiar it felt, as if the truth she sought, her memories, were waiting for her above.
"Damn it, where did she go?" Behind her, they had lost her.
"How did that woman suddenly start running so fast?"
"What are you dawdling for? Chase her! If the miss finds out we failed, she might just kill us!"
Everyone dashed upwards.
Melody Thorne hid behind a large tree, waiting for them to leave before standing up and walking back down.
After just a few steps, she tripped and fell, climbing up to see a person covered in blood. She nearly screamed.
A dead person?
"Help... help me," the person uttered a faint voice, appearing to be in his fifties or sixties.
