Melody Thorne got swatted, and immediately opened her mouth and bit Jared Quinn on the neck. Did he still think she was the amnesiac Melody Thorne or what? Actually smacking her butt—these last few days he hasn’t exactly been shy about taking advantage of her like that!

"Don’t you dare hit me again!" Melody protested.

Jared had been driven half-mad looking for her and for the moment didn’t notice the change in Melody. His gaze went past her. "Was it the person behind you who saved you?"

Melody turned her head. "No, it was when I was being chased that I saved this man in his fifties or sixties. He looked like he was about to die."

Jared: "...You still had time to save someone else?"

"Of course. Okay, let’s go."

"Young Master Jared, Miss Thorne."

The moment the two of them turned around, more than a dozen reporters instantly surrounded and blocked them.

"Miss Thorne, did you see what Mrs. Quinn said at the hospital today? May I ask if it’s true she has mental problems and that’s why she ended up stabbing herself?"

"Miss Thorne, you’ve been missing for two days—was it because you argued with Young Master Jared over Mrs. Quinn’s incident? And how did you end up at the hospital?"

"What exactly did Mrs. Quinn say at the hospital today?" Melody lifted her head—she hadn’t seen the news at all!

"Everyone, please quiet down. As Mrs. Quinn said, this was all just a misunderstanding. Her psychiatric evaluation report has already been shown to everyone. Reporters who haven’t seen it can check online. Miss Thorne has been frightened over this period and needs rest. Thank you for your cooperation!" Harold Chapman stood in front, blocking the reporters.

"Miss Thorne, from the start of the incident till now you haven’t said a word—is there some other hidden reason?"

"Miss Thorne, please answer our questions!"

Melody had long since become highly skilled at facing reporters, not to mention that she’d already recovered her memory now.

"This matter is really just the Quinn Family’s private business; it shouldn’t be broadcast so much to the outside world. I also hope everyone will stop making up rumors. The truth is exactly as Mrs. Quinn said. I hope you all won’t keep distorting things. Thank you."

Jared took her into the car and they left the hospital. Melody immediately opened her laptop—on it was footage of Mrs. Quinn lying in a hospital bed being interviewed.

She’d actually told those reporters it was because she had mental problems?

"You confronted Mrs. Quinn about it?"

"You weren’t in the wrong here. If I don’t confront her, this thing with Titus Quinn threatening her could very well happen a third time, a fourth time..."

He didn’t want Melody getting hurt again. He’d already warned Mrs. Quinn once; what he had to do now was protect his wife properly.

Melody’s face rested against his chest, a sly glint flashing in her eyes. Let him keep smacking that place—let him go on thinking she’s still in the middle of amnesia, fine by her!

The villa.

The butler had no idea how many times he’d prayed already, begging for this storm to pass quickly, for Melody and Jared to come back soon.

Speak of the devil and the devil appears.

"Ma’am... Ma’am, you’re back?"

"Mm, we’re back. It’s all fine now." Melody walked in and sat down on the sofa. "Where’s Qianmo, is she still sleeping?"

"She’s still asleep. It’s good you’ve come back, it’s so good you’re back!"

"Go get dinner ready."

"Ah—right away."

"Do you know who tried to kidnap you today?"

Melody sprawled on the sofa and answered honestly, "No idea. Do you think it’s because Jared still hasn’t given up on not taking me away, so he’s secretly up to something again?"

But it didn’t really seem like Titus Quinn’s people. The place that man took her to was clearly where she and Jared had filmed that old program. Titus Quinn couldn’t possibly be hiding out there, could he?
