The crushing, freezing darkness finally broke.

Saile hit a solid, hard stone surface with a heavy, wet thud. His lungs burned like hot fire. He rolled onto his side and coughed violently. He spit up a thick mouthful of black, salty water. He gasped eagerly for air, his chest heaving up and down in the pitch-black space.

He was not dead.

Saile pushed himself up onto his hands and knees. His entire body ached deeply from the violent, spinning pressure of the Abyssal whirlpool. His clothes were completely soaked. They were torn into useless, dirty rags by the splintered wood of the smuggler’s ship.

He reached over his shoulder immediately.

The Calamity Fang was still there. The heavy, pitch-black odachi was tied securely to his back. He let out a long, shaky breath of relief.

"You actually survived," Naicul said quietly in Saile’s mind. The ancient God sounded genuinely surprised. "I thought the water pressure was going to crush your bones into dust. You have a very stubborn heart, boy."

"I refuse to die in a fish pond," Saile thought back. He wiped cold water from his brown eyes.

He slowly stood up. His wet boots squished loudly against the hard ground. He finally looked around to see exactly where the ocean had spit him out.

He was definitely not underwater anymore.

Saile stood inside a massive, open cavern. The stone ceiling was hundreds of feet high. It was held up by giant, crumbling stone pillars that looked like they had been built for giants. Faint, glowing blue moss covered the ancient walls. It cast a cold, eerie light across the huge room.

The air was completely stale. It tasted heavily of dust and old dirt, but it was perfectly breathable. Saile looked up. A massive, invisible magical dome hovered

far above the cavern ceiling. It was keeping the crushing black ocean entirely out of the ruins.

Golden System screens popped up brightly in front of his vision, cutting through the blue gloom.

[Hidden Realm Discovered.] [Location: The Ashen Vanguard’s Tomb.] [Bonus EXP Awarded.]

"The Ashen Vanguard," Naicul whispered.

The ancient God’s voice dropped into a heavy, dark tone. The usual sarcastic arrogance was completely gone.

"I know this place," Naicul continued softly. "This was a fortress for my elite soldiers a thousand years ago. My vanguard fought here. They defended the coast from the monsters of the Abyss."

Saile looked around the massive room with a new sense of respect. The blue moss

illuminated the tragedy around him.

Broken weapons and rusted armor lay scattered across the dusty stone floor. Hundreds of white skeletons rested quietly in the dirt. Some of the rusted armor pieces still held the faint, faded marks of Naicul’s ancient crest. They had died holding the line.

This was an ancient battlefield. It was a massive graveyard for heroes who had been totally forgotten by the world.

"The Church erased them from history," Naicul growled. His voice vibrated with a deep, boiling anger. "When the Saints betrayed me, my vanguard refused to bow to

them. So the Church shattered the magical supports. They let the ocean swallow the fortress whole. They drowned my loyal soldiers and left them to rot at the bottom of the sea."

Saile stood perfectly still. He felt the heavy, crushing grief radiating from the God’s soul.

For his entire life, the Church had told him that Naicul Elav was an evil monster. They preached that the Saints were pure and holy saviors. But Saile was standing in a tomb filled with innocent soldiers who had been murdered simply for being loyal.

The Saints were the real villains. Naicul was just a victim of a massive, historical lie.

"I am sorry," Saile said softly into the empty cavern.

He began to walk slowly through the ancient graveyard. He stepped very carefully, making absolutely sure not to step on any of the fallen bones. He wanted to show them respect.

"They were good men," Naicul whispered. "They deserved better than this dark hole."

Saile stopped near a pile of rusted, broken swords. The weapons were completely corroded by a thousand years of salt and damp air. They were totally useless for combat. But Saile felt a faint trace of magical energy still hiding inside the metal.

He reached down and placed his bare hand flat against the pile of rusted weapons. He closed his eyes and activated his EX-Rank talent.

Golden light flared warmly in the dark room.

The broken swords dissolved instantly. They melted into glowing blue and gold orbs of light. The Endless Devourer talent stripped away the useless rust and extracted the pure, raw materials hidden inside the ancient steel.

The orbs floated through the air and rushed directly into Saile’s chest.

[EX-Rank Talent: Endless Devourer Activated.] [Loot Drop: Weapon Fragment x3 acquired.]

Saile smiled slightly. He pictured the items vanishing, storing the three new fragments safely inside his high-tier silver storage ring. He was getting much closer to repairing the Calamity Fang fully.

He continued walking toward the center of the massive cavern. A large, raised stone platform sat in the middle of the room. It was covered in thick gray dust.

Saile was just about to climb the stone stairs when the quiet air in the ruined cavern began to vibrate violently.

A loud, high-pitched humming sound filled the huge room. The ancient dust on the stone floor began to swirl around in a rapid, chaotic circle. The temperature spiked instantly. It pushed the cold ocean chill completely away, replacing it with a sudden, burning heat.

"Hide your aura!" Naicul commanded sharply. The God’s grief vanished, instantly

replaced by fierce, protective instincts. "Right now! We have company!"

Saile did not hesitate. He forced his dark EX-Rank mana down deep into his chest. He squeezed his core tightly, using the agonizing breathing technique he had learned in Valerius. He completely suppressed his Level 36 power. To the

outside world, he instantly looked like a totally unawakened, F-Rank weakling.

He stepped back quickly, sliding into the heavy shadows behind a thick, broken stone pillar. He kept his hand resting lightly on the hilt of the Calamity Fang.

A blinding flash of white light erupted in the exact center of the ruins. The fabric of space literally tore open. A glowing, magical portal appeared. It hovered just above the cracked stone floor, spinning with intense energy. It

crackled loudly with bright, A-Rank holy magic. The air suddenly smelled strongly of burning ozone and expensive church incense.

Someone was coming through.

A polished silver boot stepped out of the glowing portal.

A young man walked proudly into the ancient tomb. He wore pristine, highly

expensive silver armor trimmed with pure gold. A spotless white cape hung from his broad shoulders. He held a beautiful, glowing broadsword that hummed aggressively with holy magic.

He was not alone.

Four more people stepped out of the portal right behind him. They were all young, arrogant, and incredibly wealthy. Two of them wore the heavy, armored robes of Holy Knights. The other two wore the fancy, colorful silk clothes of Central Continent nobles.

They looked totally clean and completely out of place in the dark, dusty ruins.

The golden portal snapped shut behind them with a loud pop. The cavern was plunged back into the eerie blue light of the glowing moss.

"We finally made it," the lead noble said. He smiled a smug, arrogant smile, sheathing his glowing broadsword. "The teleportation array worked perfectly. Welcome to the Ashen Tomb, everyone."

"It smells like dirt and old bones," a female noble complained loudly. She waved her hand in front of her face in pure disgust. She boasted a glowing green staff and a strong B-Rank magic aura. "I cannot believe the Academy sent us to the bottom of the ocean for our final trial."

"Stop complaining," the lead noble laughed. He rested his hands casually on his hips. "This is a forgotten C-Rank dungeon. The Academy instructors completely cleared out the dangerous monsters yesterday. We just have to walk to the final room, grab the ancient loot, and return as top-tier graduates."

"It is a free win," one of the Holy Knights agreed happily. "We get all the glory. We do not even have to ruin our shiny armor."

Saile watched them silently from the heavy shadows. His brown eyes narrowed into

dangerous slits.

These were elite Academy students from the Holy Continent. They were the rich, spoiled children of the corrupt Church. They had used a magical portal to skip the dangerous Dead Sea entirely.

They came here to steal the ancient loot of Naicul’s fallen soldiers without actually fighting for it.

"Look at these pathetic, pampered children," Naicul sneered in Saile’s mind. The ancient God sounded absolutely disgusted. "They come to rob the graves of real warriors. They treat my vanguard’s tomb like a playground game."

"They are arrogant," Saile thought back calmly.

The lead noble took a few steps forward. He reached into his belt and pulled out a small glowing crystal. He held it high in the air to light up the dark corners of the huge cavern.

The bright white light washed over the broken stone pillars. It passed over the

rusted armor and the quiet white skeletons on the floor.

And then, the light hit Saile.

The group of rich elites froze completely in their tracks.

Saile stepped slowly out of the shadows. He did not look like a mighty warrior. He looked like absolute garbage. His clothes were ripped into wet, useless shreds. His face and arms were bruised and covered in dried, black monster blood. He was completely soaked with freezing, salty ocean water.

The heavy, pitch-black odachi was tied securely to his back. But to them, it just looked like a rusted, ugly piece of scrap metal.

The lead noble slowly lowered his glowing crystal. His confident, arrogant smile vanished instantly. He stared at the wet, bleeding boy standing silently in the middle of their secret Academy dungeon.

"What in the world is that?" the female noble gasped, pointing her green staff directly at Saile’s chest.

Saile just stared back at them. The collision of two entirely different worlds had just begun.
