My System Is a Fallen God: I Level Up Endlessly

Chapter 26: Level 45 Threat, The Abyssal Whirlpool

The ocean bubbled aggressively.

Saile stood on the wet deck of the black-market smuggler’s ship, staring down into the pitch-black water. The Dead Sea was completely flat, but a terrifying pressure pushed heavily against his chest.

"Get back!" Naicul roared inside his mind. The ancient God sounded completely serious. "It is right under us!"

Before Saile could take a single step backward, the ocean exploded.

Boom!

A massive column of freezing black water shot high into the gray sky. The smuggler’s ship pitched violently to the side. The sudden, brutal motion threw several scarred sailors right off their feet. Heavy wooden barrels crashed loudly across the wet deck.

Rising slowly from the dark depths was a true nightmare.

It was an Armored Sea Titan.

The beast was easily the size of a large stone fortress. Its massive back was covered entirely by a thick, jagged shell made of dark green crystal. Eight huge, slimy black tentacles whipped wildly around its ugly head. They dripped heavily with toxic, burning acid.

The green acid hit the ocean with loud, angry hisses.

A bright red System screen flashed directly in front of Saile’s eyes, warning him of the terrible danger.

[Target: Armored Sea Titan.]

[Level: 45 (Platinum-Tier).]

[Threat Level: Extreme.]

"Level 45," Saile whispered out loud.

His heart hammered painfully against his ribs. It was a Platinum-Tier beast. He was only Level 36.

The giant monster roared angrily.

The terrible sound cracked like real thunder, making the ship’s heavy wooden mast splinter loudly under the sonic pressure.

Two massive black tentacles shot forward through the air. They wrapped tightly around the exact middle of the wooden ship. The thick oak wood groaned and snapped loudly under the crushing, impossible pressure.

"Help us!" the ship’s captain screamed in total panic.

He pulled his shiny silver cutlass from his belt. The desperate sailors slashed wildly at the thick tentacles, but their normal steel swords simply bounced harmlessly off the tough, rubbery skin.

Saile did not hesitate.

He reached over his shoulder and gripped the Calamity Fang. The pitch-black odachi sparked hungrily with dark purple lightning, eager to taste the monster’s blood.

He planted his heavy boots firmly against the wooden deck and pushed off with incredible Level 36 speed.

"Phantom Step," Saile said clearly.

Boom!

A loud sonic boom resonated across the flat water.

Saile turned into a blurry, vibrating shadow. He vanished entirely from the back of the ship, moving much faster than the human eye could track.

He appeared directly in the air, floating high above the giant green crystal shell on the monster’s back.

While falling through the cold air, he twisted his hips sharply and swung the heavy black sword with all his might. He condensed the dark magic perfectly on the sharp edge, just like Naicul had taught him.

"Divine Strike!" Saile roared loudly.

The Calamity Fang flared with a brilliant, blinding dark light. Saile brought the weapon down brutally, aiming to crack the monster’s back wide open.

Smack!

The attack connected perfectly.

But the beast did not bleed.

The Calamity Fang slammed brutally against the thick, magical green armor. Bright orange sparks flew wildly everywhere.

The sheer physical force of the heavy collision completely rattled Saile’s arms, pushing him forcefully backward through the air.

The heavy crystal shell did not suffer a single tiny scratch.

"It is completely impenetrable!" Saile shouted in his mind.

He flipped gracefully backward, landing safely back on the ship’s rocking deck in a tight shoulder roll recovery.

"It is a Platinum-Tier defense!" Naicul snapped back angrily. "Your raw physical stats are almost ten levels too low to break that shell! You cannot fight this thing head-on! It will crush you!"

The Armored Sea Titan retaliated instantly.

Four heavy, acid-dripping tentacles whipped violently across the ship at the exact same time, sweeping the deck to crush the annoying human.

Saile dropped incredibly low to the wet wood. He planted his hands flat and whipped his right leg around in a rapid, lightning-fast spin sweep.

He dodged entirely under the first massive tentacle, letting the toxic acid sizzle the air directly above his head.

He popped right back up to his feet, instantly chaining his fluid movement into a high, graceful backflip to completely clear the second attack.

While hanging upside down in the air, he swung the Calamity Fang in a tight, spinning arc.

The sharp blade cleanly sliced the tip off a third tentacle.

Black blood sprayed across the deck.

But he simply could not block the last one.

The fourth thick tentacle slammed directly into the side of the ship. It completely missed Saile, but it hit the terrified sailors standing near the edge.

The captain and three screaming crew members were thrown violently into the freezing black ocean.

Saile gritted his teeth.

He desperately wanted to protect them. He wanted to jump into the water and pull them back to safety.

But the monster was far too big and incredibly fast. He could not defend the entire ship and fight a Level 45 beast at the exact same time.

The huge gap in raw power was simply too high.

The beast raised its remaining tentacles high into the gray sky. It brought them all down together in one single, devastating strike aimed right at the center of the boat.

"Shadow Swap!" Saile yelled out loud.

He locked his brown eyes on a dark, heavy shadow cast by a broken barrel near the front of the ship.

He instantly turned into a cloud of black smoke, swapping places with the shadow just in time.

Crash!

The heavy, combined attack smashed right through the exact center of the wooden ship.

The pure physical force was absolutely catastrophic.

The smuggler’s ship broke completely in half with a loud, sickening crunch. Thick wooden planks splintered into thousands of sharp, flying pieces. The dark canvas sails ripped apart entirely, falling uselessly into the violent black waves.

Saile lost his footing instantly as the deck collapsed completely beneath his boots.

He fell backward, sliding down the broken, slippery wood directly toward the freezing water.

"The ship is gone!" Saile yelled.

He hit the water hard, quickly grabbing the edge of a floating wooden barrel just to keep his head above the rough waves.

He kicked his legs to stay afloat, choking on the salty water.

He looked around wildly.

The remaining sailors were thrashing in the dark sea, screaming for help.

Saile tried to swim toward them, holding the Calamity Fang tightly in his hand.

"Forget them!" Naicul ordered forcefully. "Look at the monster!"

The Armored Sea Titan did not stop its fierce assault.

It was not satisfied with just breaking the ship.

It opened its massive jaws and began to spin its heavy body rapidly in the water.

The dark, corrupted magic pouring out of the monster mixed wildly with the ocean current.

A loud, deafening roar filled the cold air as the ocean itself started to circle the giant beast.

The black water spun faster and faster.

It pulled the broken wood, the drowning sailors, and the heavy ocean waves down into a massive, violent whirlpool.

The intense suction force was completely overwhelming.

It aggressively dragged everything toward the dark, spinning center.

"Swim away!" Naicul shouted.

The God’s ancient voice was laced with genuine panic for the very first time.

"If you get sucked down into that hole, the water pressure will crush your lungs into paste! Swim!"

Saile kicked his legs with all his Level 36 strength.

He tried desperately to swim against the terrible, spinning current. He pushed his tired muscles until they screamed in total agony.

He used every single drop of his energy just to stay in one place.

But his human efforts were completely useless against the magic of a Platinum-Tier beast.

The whirlpool was hundreds of feet wide.

It easily pulled the heavy wooden planks and the struggling boy backward, sucking them down like they were tiny, weightless twigs.

The roaring water grew louder and louder.

Saile saw the ship’s captain get pulled under the dark waves, vanishing completely into the spinning abyss.

Saile grit his teeth.

He reached his free hand out, trying to grab a piece of passing debris to anchor himself.

He fought with everything he had, absolutely refusing to give up.

He could not die here.

He had to return for Avery.

But the ocean was far too strong.

A thick, heavy piece of the broken wooden mast caught the fast current.

It spun wildly through the air and slammed brutally hard into Saile’s back.

The heavy physical impact knocked the breath completely out of him.

It pushed his head entirely under the freezing black water.

Saile gasped in pure shock, swallowing a painful, burning mouthful of toxic, salty liquid.

The violent ocean grabbed his body completely.

The world spun in dizzying, dark circles as the massive whirlpool sucked him straight down.

He could not tell which way was up or down.

His arms and legs flailed uselessly against the overwhelming power of the water.

He fell deeper and deeper into the freezing, lightless underwater abyss.

The sounds of the screaming sailors and the cracking wood faded away completely.

They were replaced entirely by the heavy, silent, crushing pressure of the deep ocean.

The cold darkness swallowed him whole, pulling him far away from the surface.

Everything went totally black.
