My System Is a Fallen God: I Level Up Endlessly

Chapter 39: Gravity Magic, The Ancient Array

The massive iron gates ground open with a heavy, scraping sound.

Saile stepped through the dark doorway, keeping his black stealth cloak pulled very tight. Lady Vesper walked right beside him, leading him into the heart of the Remnants’ base.

The room inside was a huge, circular war chamber.

Burning torches lined the black stone walls, casting long, jumping shadows across the floor. A massive round table sat in the exact center of the room, covered entirely in old maps and broken weapons.

Three heavily scarred warriors stood around the table.

These were the other faction leaders of the underground army. Their bodies radiated terrifying, heavy magic that made the air feel thick and hard to breathe.

"Vesper," a giant man with a thick grey beard barked loudly. "Who is this skinny rat?"

The System instantly scanned the giant man, projecting a small golden screen into Saile’s vision.

[Target: Mrog] [Level: 62 (Diamond Tier)] [Talent: SS-Rank - Earth Crusher]

"Watch your mouth, Mrog," Lady Vesper snapped back. "This is the one we have been waiting for. The compass chose him."

A tall woman with half of her face burned by fire stepped forward from the table.

She wore heavy steel armor and carried a glowing red spear that sparked with hot flames. She sneered openly, looking Saile up and down like he was a piece of dirty trash.

The System scanned her as well.

[Target: Alis] [Level: 61 (Diamond Tier)] [Talent: S-Rank - Hellfire]

"You must be joking," the burned woman hissed. "Look at him."

She threw a small, clear testing crystal directly at Saile’s heavy boots.

Saile didn’t move an inch. He kept his EX-Rank aura completely hidden deep inside his soul, locking the Endless Devourer behind a solid mental wall.

The clear crystal flashed with a dull, muddy grey light.

[Talent: F-Rank - Null]

The giant man, Mrog, burst into a loud, mocking laugh.

His deep voice resonated heavily against the cold stone walls.

"F-Rank!" Mrog roared, slamming his massive fist down hard on the wooden war

table. "He does not even have basic magic! You brought a street beggar into our sacred base!"

"He fights without magic," Vesper argued, her purple eyes glowing with sudden anger. "He wiped out two Level 45 Iron Sentries at the front gate using only his bare hands. I saw him use the true dark magic in the blood arena."

The burned woman shook her head, pointing the sharp tip of her red spear directly at Saile’s chest.

"He is a lying thief," she said coldly. "He probably stole a dark magic ring from a dead Heretic in the desert. He is just using a fake artifact to trick your compass, Vesper."

Saile stayed perfectly quiet.

He ignored their loud insults completely. His brown eyes were locked entirely on the far end of the large room.

Behind the angry leaders sat a raised stone altar.

A floating glass box rested gently on top of the altar. Inside the clean glass, a small, jagged chunk of black bone hovered silently in the air.

It was radiating a pure, terrifying wave of dark purple lightning.

That was the Divine Body Fragment.

"Naicul," Saile thought softly. "Is that it?"

"Yes," the ancient God whispered back in his mind.

His voice was shaking with raw, hungry greed.

"That is a piece of my true spine," Naicul demanded. "Get it right now, kid."

Saile took a slow step toward the stone altar.

Before his boot could even hit the floor again, the giant leader stepped directly into his path. Mrog looked down at Saile with absolute disgust.

"You do not get to walk in here and claim our holy relic, boy," Mrog growled.

The giant man flared his SS-Rank magic aggressively.

The ground shook violently. A heavy wall of solid earth and thick rock shot up from the floor, entirely blocking Saile from seeing the altar.

"If you really think you are the vessel of our God, then prove it," Mrog challenged.

The giant pointed a thick, dirty finger toward a sunken pit right in the middle of the room.

The pit was perfectly square, lined completely with glowing white runes. The air

above the pit looked blurry and wavy, bending wildly like a hot desert road.

"The Array of the Ancients," Vesper said softly, taking a nervous step back.

"Exactly," Mrog sneered, crossing his massive, tree-trunk arms. "Our Lord built that chamber to test the souls of his original soldiers. It crushes fakes and liars into bloody paste."

The burned woman smiled cruelly, resting her flaming spear on her shoulder.

"Step inside the pit, thief," she told Saile. "If you survive for one single minute, we will bow to you. If you die, we will feed your broken body to the desert dogs."

Saile looked at the blurry, glowing pit.

He could easily use his [Phantom Step] skill right now. He could dash right past the heavy earth wall with explosive speed and grab the glass box before they even blinked.

But if he did that, he would have to fight three Level 60 Diamond-Tier warriors all at once.

It was much easier to just play their stupid game.

"Fine," Saile said flatly.

He walked calmly past the giant man and stepped right to the very edge of the pit. He didn’t take off his black stealth cloak. He didn’t draw the Calamity Fang from his back.

He just dropped straight down into the center of the glowing white runes.

"Turn it on," Saile commanded.

Mrog grinned like a hungry, violent wolf. The giant man slammed his heavy boot onto a large stone lever near the table.

The white runes in the pit suddenly turned pitch black.

Instantly, a heavy, unseen force slammed directly onto Saile’s shoulders.

It felt exactly like a massive mountain had been dropped right on top of his head.

Crack!

The thick stone floor beneath Saile’s boots instantly shattered into a wide

spiderweb of deep cracks.

Saile dropped hard onto one knee.

He planted his bare hands heavily on the ground to stop himself from being completely flattened. The air was entirely forced out of his lungs in a single, painful gasp.

This was not like Lady Vesper’s gravity magic.

This pressure was absolute. It did not just push down on his physical muscles. It pushed directly against his very soul, trying to squeeze his life away.

[System Warning: Extreme Physical Damage Detected!]

[Health dropping rapidly!]

His Platinum-Tier bones groaned loudly in the quiet room.

The pressure was trying to snap his spine right in half. His pale skin turned completely white, and bright red blood began to slowly drip from his nose.

Up above the pit, the faction leaders watched with cold, happy smiles.

"Look at him bow," Mrog laughed, pointing at the struggling boy. "The rat is already breaking in half."

"He will be dead in ten seconds," the burned woman added smoothly.

Saile gritted his teeth hard.

The pain was completely blinding. Every single muscle in his arms and legs felt like it was tearing apart. The crushing gravity pinned him tightly to the broken floor.

He tried to push himself up, but his arms just shook wildly under the raw, heavy weight.

"You built this thing?" Saile asked in his mind, wiping blood from his chin.

In the deep, dark corners of Saile’s mind, Naicul was watching the faction leaders up above.

The ancient God was no longer just greedy for his bone fragment. He was absolutely, completely furious.

"They dare," Naicul whispered.

The God’s voice was low, vibrating with absolute, pure rage. The dark mana inside Saile’s core began to boil like hot lava.

"They dare judge you?" Naicul sneered with absolute indignation. "These mud-born insects dare test ME using MY own array?"

The heavy silver presence of the God violently flooded Saile’s mind.

It was not an unwanted possession this time. It was a completely shared, blinding rage that connected both of their minds perfectly.

Saile felt the God’s ancient pride mixing directly with his own modern anger.

He was incredibly tired of being looked down on by these people. He was completely tired of hiding his true strength from these arrogant fools.

"Let them see it kid!" Naicul roared
