My System Is a Fallen God: I Level Up Endlessly

Chapter 43: Diamond-Rank Traitor, The Underground Vault

The heavy, jagged silver ring felt cold against Saile’s skin.

He walked past Lady Vesper, leaving the Diamond-Tier warrior kneeling at the top of the trap-filled stairs. She immediately stood up and rushed down a separate side corridor to sound the war horns and rally the underground army.

Saile was entirely alone. He walked calmly down the dark, winding stone hallway that connected the vault entrance back to the main war chamber.

Every single step he took felt completely different.

Just an hour ago, his Platinum-Tier body had ached from the freezing air of the Heretic bunker. Now, he practically floated over the rough stone floor.

Level 55 was an entirely different world. The jump into the Transcendent tiers was a massive, physical reconstruction. His bones were incredibly dense, and his muscles hummed with explosive, raw power.

The dark magic sitting in his core was perfectly still. It felt like a deep, bottomless ocean waiting for his command.

"They will be gathering soon," Naicul whispered in his mind.

The ancient God sounded highly satisfied. Consuming the piece of his original flesh had repaired a small fraction of his shattered soul.

"You hold the Sovereign’s Signet," Naicul continued softly. "You now command an army of hardened killers. When we march on the Holy Capital, the False Saints will finally bleed."

"One step at a time," Saile replied mentally.

Saile suddenly stopped walking.

His new Diamond-Tier senses flared wildly. The air in the dark hallway smelled heavily of fresh copper and bitter poison.

He looked down the corridor. The veteran Remnant sentries who were supposed to be guarding this specific hallway were lying face-down on the cold stone floor in thick pools of their own blood. Their throats had been cleanly cut.

"A welcoming party," Naicul purred darkly.

"Step out of the shadows," Saile commanded. His voice was completely flat,

echoing loudly against the stone walls.

A tall, bitter old man slowly stepped into the dim light.

He wore heavy, dark leather armor covered in silver spikes. A long, jagged grey scar ran completely across his face, destroying his left eye. He held a massive, curved iron scythe in his right hand.

The System instantly scanned the old man, projecting a golden screen into Saile’s vision.

[Target: Elder Torin]

[Level: 60 (Diamond Tier)]

[Talent: A-Rank - Shadow Blade]

"You actually fooled Vesper," Elder Torin rasped. He spat a wad of dark chewing tobacco onto the floor near the dead sentries. "She is a foolish, desperate woman. But I am not blind, boy."

"You killed your own soldiers," Saile noted coldly.

"They bowed to a fake," Torin sneered, raising his heavy scythe. "I refuse to let my sacred faction be led by a seventeen-year-old street rat. You are an F-Rank fraud."

Saile just stared at him with plain brown eyes.

"That giant shadow avatar was a cute trick," the Elder mocked. "A high-tier light-bending artifact, I assume? You stole it from a dead noble in the desert to trick the tracking compass."

Torin took a slow step forward, his single good eye locking onto the pitch-black sword resting on Saile’s back.

"Hand over the Epic-grade blade," Torin demanded harshly. "And give me the Sovereign’s Signet. If you do it right now, I will kill you quickly."

"Are you the only traitor?" Saile asked calmly. "Or did you bring friends?"

Torin smiled cruelly, showing a row of rotting teeth.

Six figures dropped entirely from the high stone ceiling. They landed silently in a perfect circle around Saile, completely blocking his only path forward.

They were elite Remnant assassins. They wore tight black combat gear and dark masks. Two of them held long, heavy scythes exactly like the Elder. The other four gripped jagged throwing daggers dripping with glowing green poison.

[System Alert: Fatal Threats Detected.]

[Targets: Elite Assassins (Level 56 - 58)]

"Take his head," Elder Torin ordered.

The ambush started instantly.

There was no battle cry. There was no hesitation. The assassins attacked with

terrifying, explosive speed.

Saile immediately realized that Diamond-Rank combat was a completely different game. These killers moved like blurring shadows. Their raw physical speed was highly lethal, leaving faint afterimages in the dim air.

Four poisoned daggers sliced through the air, aimed perfectly at his neck, chest, and knees.

Saile didn’t even try to block them. He pushed hard off his toes, launching himself into a high, rapid backflip.

The daggers hissed right under his chin. They missed his throat by less than an inch, burying themselves deeply into the stone wall behind him.

Saile landed smoothly on his feet.

Boom!

The raw physical force of his Level 55 legs completely shattered the stone floor on impact. A heavy ring of dust blew outward.

Before Saile could even stand up straight, one of the scythe-wielding assassins was already there.

The killer swung his heavy curved blade in a brutal horizontal arc. He was aiming to cut Saile completely in half.

Saile activated [Phantom Step].

His body transformed into a violent blur of black lightning. He dashed sideways with explosive force. He ran directly toward the solid stone wall of the narrow hallway.

He didn’t stop. Saile planted his heavy combat boots flat against the vertical rock and chained the momentum into a rapid wall-run.

He sprinted three steps along the wall, running completely parallel to the ground.

The heavy iron scythe sparked wildly against the wall right below his boots, completely missing his legs.

Saile pushed hard off the stone, flipping sideways through the air. As he fell back toward the ground, he reached over his shoulder.

He drew the Calamity Fang with a sharp, ringing clash of metal.

"Do not play with them, kid," Naicul ordered coldly in his mind. "They are too fast. Cut them down."

Saile gripped the long hilt with both hands. He remembered his combat training from the Dead Sea perfectly. He did not flood the entire blade with wild magic.

He tightly compressed his EX-Rank aura, pushing the heavy dark mana straight into the razor-thin edge of the odachi.

A thin, glowing line of highly condensed black lightning settled perfectly on the sharp cutting edge.

Saile landed hard on his feet. The second scythe assassin immediately lunged forward, thrusting the spiked tip of his heavy weapon directly at Saile’s chest.

Saile dropped his weight low. He stepped cleanly inside the assassin’s guard.

He swung the Calamity Fang upward in a blinding, brutal diagonal slash.

The compressed black lightning sliced through the air with a deafening sonic boom.

Clang!

The upgraded Epic-grade weapon slammed directly into the thick iron shaft of the scythe. The armor-shattering power of the dark macro-mana completely destroyed the heavy weapon.

The thick iron shaft was cut perfectly in half like a dry wooden stick.

The assassin’s eyes went wide with pure panic.

Saile didn’t stop moving. He spun his body, using his [Divine Strike] skill to carry the massive kinetic momentum into a heavy spin sweep.

His combat boot slammed violently into the assassin’s ribs.

Crack!

A visible shockwave rippled right through the killer’s chest. The assassin was launched backward like a broken ragdoll, crashing heavily into the stone wall and falling instantly unconscious.

"Kill him!" Elder Torin roared angrily, gripping his own scythe with both hands.

The remaining five assassins swarmed Saile all at once.

Two more poisoned daggers flew straight at his face. The other three killers swung their broken weapons in a highly coordinated, deadly storm of sharp metal.

Saile ducked cleanly under a heavy blade, sliding his boots across the dusty floor. He leaned backward, letting a glowing green dagger fly harmlessly over his nose.

The combat was a violent, high-speed blur.

Every single dodge required absolute focus. One small mistake against Diamond-Tier speed would leave him completely paralyzed by the toxic poison.

He deflected a heavy strike with the flat side of his sword. The visceral impact sent a sharp, painful vibration straight down his arms.

Saile jumped backward, creating a tiny bit of space.

He landed softly, his black cloak fluttering around his knees. He was breathing slightly heavier now.

"They are annoying, aren’t they?" Naicul whispered with a dark chuckle.

"They are incredibly fast," Saile admitted in his mind, gripping his sword tight. "If I rely on pure physical acrobatics, they are going to eventually land a lucky hit."

Elder Torin stepped forward, a nasty smile forming on his scarred face.

"You are just a quick little rat," the Elder mocked, pointing his heavy scythe at Saile. "But you cannot dodge forever. The poison in the air is already making your lungs burn."

Torin was completely wrong. The Endless Devourer was actively eating the toxic fumes, turning them into minor experience points. Saile wasn’t feeling any poison at all.

He was just tired of dodging.

Saile lowered the Calamity Fang slowly. He rested the sharp, glowing tip of the blade directly against the broken stone floor.

A cold, terrifying smile slowly crept across his face.

"You really think I am a fraud," Saile said softly. His plain brown eyes locked directly onto the bitter Elder.

"I know you are," Torin spat.

"Then let me show you the truth," Saile replied.

He didn’t need to fight them with physical martial arts anymore. He didn’t need to match their high-speed attacks or worry about poisoned daggers.

He was officially a Transcendent-Tier monster. He finally had access to the absolute peak of the world’s magic system.

Saile stood completely still and closed his eyes. He tapped directly into the massive, bottomless ocean of dark magic sitting heavily inside his core.

He was about to show the traitors exactly why the Holy Church was so terrified of the Fallen God.
