The battlefield changed again.

The countless Goruns that had been advancing toward us suddenly stopped, and their Soul Force began flowing outward once more. This time, however, it did not gather around individual warriors or form another army of projections. The energy spread across the entire battlefield as a single overwhelming tide, rolling outward from the Gorun ranks and swallowing everything in its path.

A Domain.

No single Saint could possibly have produced an aura of this magnitude. The Goruns were combining the domains of millions of soldiers and their Saint commanders, merging their individual authorities into one enormous battlefield domain.

The pressure arrived like an ocean crashing against the world, causing space itself to groan beneath its weight. Even the Saints among us were forced to reinforce their bodies with Soul Force simply to remain standing.

Above the endless army, the combined energy began taking shape.

A single gigantic Gorun slowly materialized in the sky, its body so enormous that even Kaelra’s two-hundred-meter dragon form looked insignificant beneath it. Unlike the previous projections, this one possessed an aura that made the entire battlefield tremble.

Its three eyes opened simultaneously, and the moment its gaze settled upon us, an enormous runic circle appeared above its head.

The circle continued expanding until it covered almost the entire sky. Countless ancient runes rotated along its circumference while an intense crimson light gathered within its center. Then the first meteor emerged.

It was enormous, easily several hundred meters across, completely covered in flames and moving with such terrifying speed that the air itself exploded around it. I barely had time to understand what I was seeing before another appeared beside it, followed by another and another. There was one for every Saint standing on our side, and each was already locked onto its target.

"Defend!"

The command came from several voices at once.

Every Saint launched an attack.

Kaelra opened her enormous jaws and unleashed a silver torrent of flames that collided with one of the meteors. Evelyn raised a wall of ice several hundred meters high, while the Astrals distorted time around another target and the Essari unleashed a concentrated beam of Essence and Soul Force. Across the battlefield, every Saint responded with their own strongest technique.

I clenched my fist as one of the meteors descended directly toward me.

"Absolute Destruction."

My fist slammed forward.

The space ahead of me collapsed beneath the force of the attack, and the enormous meteor shattered into countless fragments before disappearing completely. I barely had time to lower my arm before another meteor emerged from the runic circle.

Then another.

Then another.

The first wave hadn’t even finished falling before the next had already begun.

I destroyed the second meteor with another punch, followed by the third and fourth, but something immediately felt wrong. The meteors weren’t simply being produced endlessly. Their power was increasing.

The fifth struck harder than the fourth.

The sixth carried even greater force.

By the seventh, I had to put significantly more Soul Force behind Absolute Destruction to erase it completely.

I glanced toward the enormous runic circle.

"What the hell..."

There was no pause in its operation. Meteors continued pouring from it at an increasingly terrifying rate, each one appearing almost immediately after the previous wave had been destroyed. It wasn’t an attack that could simply be endured until the ammunition ran out.

It was manufacturing destruction.

A scream suddenly tore through the battlefield.

I turned toward the sound just in time to see one of the Naga Saints engulfed by a meteor. His defensive barrier shattered beneath the impact, and his body disappeared within the explosion. Before the surrounding smoke had even cleared, another meteor struck farther away, killing a Saint from one of the other races.

Then a third Saint fell.

The realization spread through the battlefield instantly.

We could die here.

The first few minutes had made us believe the Goruns were simply an enormous army that we could carve through one formation at a time. Now we were being forced to defend against an attack whose strength continued increasing with every wave, and there was no indication that it would stop.

I exhaled slowly.

"We need our Domains."

My voice carried through the communication bracelets Gerald had distributed before the expedition, allowing every leader to hear me despite the chaos.

"Everyone, release your Domains. We won’t survive this by defending with individual techniques."

One after another, the Saints responded.

The battlefield transformed as Domains unfurled across the wasteland. Each manifested differently according to its owner’s authority, and as they overlapped, the combined pressure of our side finally pushed back against the Gorun formation.

I allowed my own Domain to partially manifest.

I did not summon my complete Soul Projection. Instead, the ancient tablet descended behind me, its enormous chains extending upward into the heavens as countless runes illuminated its surface. The moment its aura spread across the battlefield, the pressure surrounding me changed completely.

The others noticed.

No one commented.

There was no time.

Another wave of meteors descended.

Every Saint launched their defenses simultaneously.

The battlefield became a continuous storm of destruction as Domains collided with meteors, barriers shattered and were immediately reconstructed, and explosions spread across the barren landscape. We kept fighting while watching the clock hanging above the battlefield.

Hours seemed to disappear.

The meteors continued coming. Their numbers never decreased and their power continued rising.

Every few waves, we were forced to strengthen our defenses further, consuming greater quantities of Soul Force just to survive. What had initially required only casual techniques now demanded the serious use of Saint-level abilities.

Even Kaelra was no longer laughing.

She was breathing heavily as she tore another meteor apart with her claws before immediately turning toward the next one.

"They’re getting stronger!"

"I know!"

Evelyn’s voice came through the communication bracelet as she reinforced an enormous ice barrier that had already cracked under the previous impact.

I looked toward the gigantic Gorun projection above the army.

If destroying the meteors wasn’t enough, then I would destroy the source.

My gaze locked onto the enormous figure.

"Let’s see how you handle this."

Soul force gathered around my arm.

The space surrounding me began to distort as the authority of the absolute art condensed into a single point. I drew my hand across the air, and an enormous black line appeared before me.

Then I released it.

"Void Severance."

The slash expanded instantly.

It wasn’t merely cutting through the air. It tore through the fabric of reality itself, creating a gigantic void that stretched across the battlefield. The enormous blade of nothingness reached the Gorun projection before it could react.

The runic circle split apart.

The gigantic projection split with it. For one glorious moment, the entire formation was severed directly down the middle.

The battlefield erupted in cheers.

Then I saw the two halves of the projection begin moving.

The separated pieces dissolved into Soul Force and flowed back toward the Gorun army. Before my eyes, the enormous projection reconstructed itself as though it had never been damaged.

Above it, the shattered runic circle reappeared. The ancient runes began rotating once more.

Another meteor formed within its center.

My expression became serious.

"So that’s how it works."

Destroying the projection wasn’t enough.

As long as the army remained connected, the formation could simply rebuild itself.
