"So, we will work hard towards those ambitions, but that will not be enough to make a name for ourselves. What we need to achieve our ambitions is representation. Mostly, people from the Combat Class or the Mage Class dominate the top ten rankings, and their names spread throughout the kingdom."

Max delivered a big speech. These were certainly not random words; they were true to some degree. Usually, only Combat Class students represented them inside and outside of the academy. Looking around, a few were confused as to why he was speaking such big words.

"We need someone to represent our Healing Department. Therefore, to represent all of you, I will be participating in the First-Year Leaders Head Competition. I want all of your support."

Max suddenly revealed the news of his participation. The hall abruptly fell silent. They were surprised, and murmurs quickly spread.

"I will compete for 'Diplomatic Affairs Head.' I hope you all will support me in this. If you support me, I will try to create a regulation where Healers will receive a certain share of Dungeon Expeditions," Max announced.

"You all know that only a few expeditions at the beginning of the first year will be easy enough to avoid injury. But as the upcoming Dungeon Expeditions become difficult, the demand for Healers will increase to another level. Under the current norm, however, there is no fixed or proportional share for Healers. So, if you support me in this competition, I will create a regulation where Healers get a fair share from the objective of the expedition. What do you say? Do you want your fair share instead of being taken for granted?"

Max made a great speech in front of the girls. Once he finished his speech, the hall fell into great confusion over his claims. After all, as students of the Number One Academy, they would not be scammed so easily.

"Max, didn't you say you are going to compete for Diplomatic Affairs Head?" Kristen, who stood at the front of the gathering, asked.

"Yes, Kristen," Max replied. He could guess what kind of question she was going to ask.

Setting regulations mostly fell under the responsibilities of the "Student Council Head." That department had to take the initiative to regulate the disparity in party loot sharing, as the current system was clearly a disadvantage for Healers. They were left at the mercy of the party leader, who was mostly from the Combat Class.

"Since you are asking for our support, we will definitely give it. But doesn't regulating the loot share fall under the Student Council? Regardless, it doesn't matter; we will definitely support you," Kristen said. The others also nodded their heads.

"Max, why don't you compete for the Student Council President title? It would be easier for our demands to be executed," Jeannie, who had eagerly listened thus far, suddenly asked.

"Everyone, you have to trust me. The Diplomatic Affairs Head has much more authority than simply managing the affairs of students from other academies. Just support me, and I will do what is needed for all of you," Max said.

Max did not explain how he was going to accomplish what he had promised. Since he himself did not know yet, he would need to read the roles and responsibilities of each department head. However, there was always a way to overcome the unfairness of society. To do that, one did not need to be a king; one could just be a common person. By nature, unfairness could never be sustained forever. It was simply unnatural.

After making the firm promise, Max returned to his spot and began his practice. He had to accelerate the Skill Proficiency of all his skills. Since he had taken this competition into his own hands, it would drain a significant amount of his time. He had better utilize these free practical sessions to grow strong.

While he was practicing, he suddenly felt someone approach and stand silently beside him. As usual, Max did not bother to check who it was. He continued his practice until his mana drained. Only then did he turn his head to look to his side.

There stood a short girl with curly hair. Her face was looking down, so he could not clearly see her overall features. He did not know who this girl was. A total of 67 female students studied in the Healer Class, so even if he had noticed her in passing, he could not remember everyone.

"Hello," Max called out to her. She had been waiting for more than five minutes, after all.

"Young... Master, could you check what is wrong with me? I have had this since childhood. I do not know what to do. I have tried many Healers, but no one has been able to cure this." The girl, still looking down at the ground, held out her hand to Max.

Surprised, Max took her hand and checked it. Her hand looked yellow. However, upon looking closely, her forehead also looked yellow. It was certainly some kind of disease that her parents must have ignored treating, but Max did not know what the issue was with her. The theory classes for Healing were still ongoing; they had not reached the topic of symptoms yet.

However, he could not simply ignore her. She must have come here expecting Max to treat her, as he had previously treated a girl who was poisoned.

"How do you feel? Do you feel any pain or discomfort?" Max asked as he let go of her hand.

"Yes, I always feel tired. I constantly get stomachaches, and sometimes I vomit. It never stops; it always happens throughout the year," the girl said.

"Very well. I am not sure if I can cure you, but I will definitely help you. However, you must promise that you will vote for me," Max joked, seeing that the girl was very shy.

Hearing this, she nodded her head, though her face remained in the same lowered position.

"Let's meet at the infirmary after the practical class this evening."

Max was not sure if he could perform the healing in the practical classroom with the Teacher present. Thus, he asked her to come to the infirmary to avoid any issues.

Nodding her head, she trotted away from him. Only when she reached her original location did she lift her head. With a small smile, Max returned to his practice.

---

Upon finishing his practical session, he noticed the presence of a few people standing behind him. Turning around, he saw the curly-haired girl accompanied by a few of her friends.

"Let's go, then," Max said as they all walked out of the practical classroom.

The infirmary was located a few buildings away from the main theory class building. It took a few minutes of walking, and when they finally arrived, the place was almost empty. Only a single attendant Healer was present, a young lady who appeared to be in her mid-thirties. They quickly spoke to the attendant and secured a cot for their use.

"Please lie down on the cot," Max said, pointing at the bed.

Based on the limited knowledge he had gained from a month and a half of theory classes, her symptoms must have been caused by some form of internal organ failure. Therefore, he would need to focus his healing on her stomach rather than applying it randomly.

She lay down on the cot, looking up at the ceiling. Now able to see the girl's face clearly, Max observed that it was round and yellow. Her condition looked a little heavy on the face compared to her hands. Her three friends stood behind Max, watching him intently.

"Are you ready?" Max asked.

She nodded her head.

Max planned to use [Salvation], as it was the skill that had previously cured the poison. However, he harbored a small doubt regarding whether this girl could be cured, because her symptoms directly indicated organ failure.

Although it was not an insurmountable issue, and there were plenty of Elixirs available that could regenerate failing organs, the scarcity of these Elixirs remained a problem. An even greater issue was affordability. Only wealthy people could get their hands on such Elixirs. Judging by these girls, they seemed to come from ordinary families; thus, they would not be able to afford the expensive Elixirs.

Max placed his two palms above the girl's stomach and activated the skill. A white light shrouded the girl. Max steadily concentrated on his Mana Channeling.

One of the main reasons he was eager to heal this girl was out of pity, of course. However, the second and most important reason was different. Using a skill on people in real-time effectively increased his Skill Proficiency. He had discovered this revelation when he used the skill in difficult situations. In do-or-die situations, his proficiency increased. His other two classes might not have the possibility of intense daily hunting, but Healing was very different. He could easily heal someone who was not feeling well, like this girl.

It was a situation of killing two birds with one stone. He could easily secure these girls' votes for him, and he could easily increase his Skill Proficiency.

As his Mana drained, Max saw the changes on the skin of her face. If Max were to answer genuinely whether he thought his skill was capable enough to cure this girl's issue, whatever it was, his answer would be that he was not sure. He genuinely believed that his skill with 2% Skill Proficiency would not do the job. To his surprise, however, this [Salvation] Healing skill was truly capable. If he were to achieve 100% Proficiency, he would have cured her with a single spend of Mana.

Max did not cut the skill. He kept going until he spent all of his Mana, just in case some issues were left behind without enough healing. Spending all of his Mana ensured that 100% effort was put in. If the issue was not resolved, they might have to check somewhere else.

Now, however, that might not be necessary. Looking at the girl, Max saw a polished face. The yellowish color she previously had was nowhere to be found.

"How do you feel?" Max asked.

Hearing him, the girl looked at him for the first time since she had come to meet him.

She slowly sat up on the cot. She looked at her hands, then touched her throat, head, and face. Suddenly, she began to cry, her tears descending like a broken dam.

"I… I feel good. I do not feel the tiredness. I feel different, as if I were born new," the girl said as she sobbed out loud.

"Very good. It worked, then. Just rest and check how you feel for a few days. If you feel similar conditions again, let me know. We will talk further then," Max said as he turned and walked.

"Young Master."

Just as Max was about to step out of the room, the girl's voice could be heard.

Turning around, Max saw the girl looking at the ground. She slowly lifted her head. With tears still rolling down her cheeks, she spoke.

"My name is Alicia. Thank you."

"Hahaha, it is not a problem, but do not forget to vote for me," Max said and walked away, leaving the girls behind in the infirmary.
