"Healing magic is closely related to Mana Circulation, which is the main change one experiences after Awakening," the old lady explained. "Therefore, without Mana Circulation, it is very difficult to diagnose anyone, especially children who have yet to Awaken. That is also the main reason elixirs are used for treating kids. The strange part is that elixirs are very effective on them."

"People conducted extensive research on this topic and found many reasons, but the main reason always pointed back to the Mana Circulation Path. Elixirs are very effective because children do not have a Mana Circulation Path. At the same time, this is also the cause for the difficulty in diagnosing them." The teacher then explained every detail regarding how healing worked on both adults and children.

Upon hearing this revelation, Max could not help but think about the condition of Mr. Thure's daughter. Perhaps this was the main reason she remained bedridden, the incapability to diagnose exactly what was wrong with her. Since the elixir was not working, just thinking about the parents' current mindset revealed how devastating the situation was.

Could using a different type of healing at the time she got poisoned have caused the issue? Max thought over the possible reasons. After all, using basic healing would not make things this severe. But what made them think that he had the capability to cure their daughter? Max was a little surprised that just hearing the news about him curing the [Laigaran] poison made them think he was capable enough to heal the kid.

However, he quickly came out of his thoughts and started listening to the class again. This topic was very important to understand in order for further topics to make sense.

The teacher continued the teaching until the lunch break. She explained things very well, making it a very informative theory class. At the end of the session, she announced that they could get two Diagnostic Crystals per week at the logistics department. They had to start getting familiar with their usage and begin their diagnostic practice as well.

With a lot on his mind, Max walked to the canteen. Jeannie and Alicia tagged along with him. The three quickly entered the canteen and picked up their food, heading to where Moon was already sitting at a table with Anne. Since they had come to his table, Max quickly introduced Jeannie and Alicia to the others.

Max did not converse much; something was nagging at his heart.

How did that couple decide to ask a first-year academy student for help?

Max did not think there could be any political reasoning behind it, since the request came through the Academy Head Teacher. On second thought, there could be an underlying reason, but it did not matter since it involved a child. Actually, this was not his main worry. His true concern was whether he could actually heal the girl. He still severely lacked both theory and practical knowledge regarding the differences in healing between children and adults. His previous success in healing came directly from his skill, which simply seemed to be a very capable skill.

Perhaps I am missing something regarding the healing of the [Laigaran] Poison? Something that others know about?

He decided he would ask the Academy Head Teacher directly, since normal people were not very aware of it. This speculation stemmed from Ms. Frances's lack of reaction. She was not nearly as impressed as the Thure couple. Furthermore, the Head Teacher did not object to the couple's request. This meant the Head Teacher also believed that he was capable of healing the kid.

"Max, what's up?" Moon suddenly asked, looking at the silent Max.

"Oh, nothing. Just thinking about some healing concepts," Max said as he chewed his last bite. "You guys continue. I have an important matter to attend to before the practical class starts."

Saying so, Max stood up with his empty plate and walked away from the table, leaving Moon and the other girls who were still eating their food. Moon stared at Max's back for a long time until he disappeared from her view.

"Did anything happen in the morning class?" she asked, looking at Alicia, who was also surprised by Max's departure.

"No, nothing happened. It was just a regular class," Alicia said.

"I heard Max was called to the Academy Head Teacher's office yesterday evening," Jeannie said as she sat and had her lunch. She had heard this from her dorm friends during their room gossip. As she spoke, she gave a cross look to Alicia, who sat beside her.

Alicia's face suddenly changed. Did Max get into trouble because of her?

Hearing this, Moon did not think anything bad. She knew Max was visiting the Head Teacher's office regarding the incident that happened outside of the academy. Therefore, yesterday's call must also be regarding that matter. With that thought, she went back to her lunch.

Exiting the canteen, Max walked directly towards the Teachers Building, hoping the Head Teacher would be available since it was the lunch break for everyone. Upon arriving, Max noticed the Head Teacher's assistant standing before the office. This meant the Head Teacher was present.

"Sir, I would like to meet the Head Teacher," Max said to the assistant.

"Sorry, Student Maximus, the Academy Head Teacher is having lunch. You may have to come back once the lunch break ends or in the evening," the assistant explained.

Max had expected this; he had only come to talk to him and remove the nagging feeling in his heart. Max nodded and turned around to leave, deciding to come back in the evening.

"Student Maximus, please come inside."

Just as Max was about to take a step, he suddenly heard a voice. However, this voice echoed directly inside his head. Startled, he looked at the assistant. The assistant nodded and gestured for him to enter the room.

What a handy skill, Max thought as he walked inside. He wondered if it was a skill or a technique.

Max walked inside, and as soon as his eyes landed on the Head Teacher, he was surprised. The Head Teacher was currently having lunch.

"Head Teacher, I am extremely sorry. I will come back in the evening," Max urgently said as he took a step back.

"Hahaha, not a problem. Student Maximus, please come in. I presume you already had your lunch; if not, please join me." The old man signaled for him to sit before him.

Max was truly embarrassed to disturb him at the time of lunch. He should have waited until the evening. But now it was too late. Since the Head Teacher had asked him to come in, he would not oppose his order. Therefore, he quickly sat on the chair. Max did not stand on ceremony; as soon as he sat down, he quickly asked about his doubts.

"Head Teacher, this visit is regarding the couple I met yesterday," Max said.

The Head Teacher nodded his head, placing a piece of vegetable into his mouth.

"It is just that I am having some difficulties determining whether I am capable of healing the little girl. I recently learned that a child's biology functions differently compared to an Awakened individual."

The Head Teacher listened, continuing to nod his head.

"I just want to know what made you and the couple seek my assistance. Based on my understanding, I am incapable of healing a child who has not awakened. Perhaps I am capable, but the truth is, I am not sure I can do it," Max explained, detailing the source of his hesitation. The skill he possessed had been used on Awakened individuals who had a Mana core and Mana Circulation Path. Somehow, it had worked both times. However, there was no guarantee it would work on a child who lacked a Mana core and Mana Circulation Path.

The Head Teacher listened in silence as he finished his lunch and wiped his mouth. Once he was done, an assistant entered the room automatically. Seeing this, Max thought the Head Teacher must have used a skill. After the assistant left the room, the Head Teacher snapped his fingers. Suddenly, the room fell into a dead silence. Max could no longer hear any outside noise.

Rising from his chair, the Head Teacher walked around the room silently. Max did not expect there to be this much suspense.

"Student Maximus, I understand your doubts, and I am very glad you are trying to understand the situation and learn from it," the Head Teacher began as Max listened.

"The couple you met yesterday are the grandson of my old friends. When they asked about the rumor regarding a first-year student who healed someone from dying, I could not help but mention you. And I am glad you promised to help them," he continued to explain.

"The truth is, I did not blindly call you here just to do trial and error with your skill. I believe you have the capability to heal the kid. Your skill possesses that capability. The skill you possess emits a white light instead of the traditional dark green healing magic. Am I right?" the Head Teacher asked.

Max simply nodded.

"The things you have learned about the difference between a person who has yet to Awaken and a person who is already Awakened apply only if you are going to use the traditional dark green healing magic. Your white healing magic is different; it is called [Primordial Healing]. It is one of the ancient healing skills that emits white magic capable of curing anything. It can even bring back a sick person who is on their deathbed."

"Therefore, the skill will not cause a backlash on a person who has yet to Awaken," the Head Teacher explained, detailing the reason behind the skill's white light.

Hearing this, Max felt shocked and joyful at the same time. He was shocked because he was not aware he possessed such a rare skill, and he felt joy because it could be highly useful in every kind of situation, mainly in emergencies. It was like possessing a walking Elixir that could save lives.

"This is a very rare skill to have. We tried to suppress the news as much as possible, even placing an unbreakable vow on those who had witnessed your skill. But these kinds of things tend to leak no matter what. That is how the Thure family came to know. Granted, more requests seeking your help will come in the future. However, I will try to reject as many as possible; I will only let you know about a few. If you are interested, you can help them. If you feel it is affecting your studies, you can directly refuse. No problems will come your way, I guarantee that."

The Head Teacher finished his explanation as he moved to his chair and sat down, waiting for Max's answer. Max took a few moments to process the information he had just heard.

"Thank you, Head Teacher, for explaining things regarding this issue. I was truly unaware," Max said. "However, this skill of mine looks very useful. I do not want to hide it from people who could genuinely benefit. If someone truly needs my help and believes they can get help from my skill, they can definitely seek me out. I will do what I can do."

Max did not want to hide his skill. What benefit would he get by hiding it from people in need? He might be targeted by his enemies, but he did not care about that. To hide a lifesaving skill simply because he might become a target was an absurd thing to even think about.

"Please inform Mr. Thure that I will visit his daughter this evening and heal her. Furthermore, if people truly need help, I will help them, so please do not deny them." Saying so, Max stood up.

Although he had promised to visit tomorrow, that was when he was afraid he lacked the capability. Now, after hearing about the skill's specialty, he did not need to wait another day and make a kid suffer.
