Chapter 420

BOOOOM!

The streets of the deserted shelter trembled violently as a massive crater split the ground apart.

A mountainous cloud of dust billowed into the sky, concealing the aftermath of the collision.

Bursting out of the dust with a backward leap, Orvak landed several metres away.

The same smile remained plastered across his face.

Rolling his shoulders before lazily twirling his arms, he stared toward the point of impact.

He had barely managed to cross his arms in front of himself before Jack’s punch connected.

For such a lean man...

...the Big Four Legacy certainly packed one hell of a punch.

"If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve mistaken you for the leader of the Blade Family."

Tak.

Tak.

Clack.

The sound of boots striking the broken street echoed through the air.

Jack calmly emerged from the heart of the dust, a slight frown creasing his otherwise composed features.

’He’s a Six-Spined... but how did he come out of that completely unscathed?’

"Alright..."

Orvak’s grin widened.

"My turn."

Before Jack could fully regain his footing—

BOOM!

Orvak blitzed forward.

A violent shockwave erupted behind him as he crossed dozens of metres in the blink of an eye.

His claws shot straight toward Jack’s face.

Although momentarily caught off guard, Jack reacted instantly.

Within a fraction of a second...

He vanished.

Orvak’s claws tore through empty air.

Yet instead of continuing his attack, the Abberant abruptly stopped.

"Come on. Why do you keep running?"

"...."

"Running? Who is?"

Orvak spun around immediately.

A fraction of a second too late.

SHING!

A crescent-shaped slash ripped through the air before crashing directly into his chest.

The impact blasted the creature backward.

Even while hurtling through the air...

Orvak was still smiling.

Jack refused to give him even a moment to recover.

He exploded forward with blistering speed.

The distance between them vanished instantly.

Above his open palm, a sphere of swirling white light condensed.

The violent energy crackled wildly.

The surrounding air warped.

Gravity itself seemed to distort.

Even sound appeared to lose its grip around the sphere.

The streets beneath Jack’s feet trembled.

Then—

He thrust his palm forward.

The sphere shot toward Orvak.

Jack’s eyes narrowed.

The Abberant...

Simply disappeared.

No—

It was as though he had phased through space itself before reappearing beside Jack at the last possible instant.

The sphere continued onward.

BOOOOM!

It crashed into the ground, instantly eviscerating everything in its path.

Chunks of concrete and earth blasted into the sky as the sound barrier shattered with a catastrophic boom.

At the same moment...

Orvak lunged at Jack like a missile.

Far faster than any creature of his size had the right to move.

A claw swept toward Jack’s head.

Jack barely tilted his head aside.

The razor-sharp claws skimmed across his cheek.

Crimson blood rolled down his face.

One step backward...

Jack crossed several metres instantly.

But he had underestimated Orvak’s speed.

The Abberant appeared before him again.

Its massive tail whipped toward his waist with enough force to cleave him clean in two.

Even the surrounding air seemed to split apart beneath the strike.

Jack calmly took half a step backward.

The instant his foot touched a lone ray of sunlight reaching the ground...

He vanished.

The tail tore straight through an abandoned vehicle instead, sending twisted pieces of metal hurtling across the street.

Without warning—

Orvak’s free hand shot behind him.

His claws wrapped around Jack’s wrist.

The grin on the Abberant’s face widened.

With a savage twist, he swung Jack overhead before slamming him violently into the ground.

BOOOOM!

The street collapsed inward beneath the impact.

Without missing a beat, Orvak drove his foot downward to finish him.

His instincts suddenly screamed.

Without hesitation, the Abberant sprang backward.

A crackling sphere of white light tore through the exact space where he had been standing a heartbeat earlier.

It streaked high into the sky...

Before exploding into a shower of dazzling white sparks.

The white sparks hovered in the air, glittering like countless tiny stars.

Then...

As though they possessed a will of their own, they shot toward Orvak at blinding speed.

The Abberant barely had time to react.

He instinctively crossed his arms before his face.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The sparks slammed into his guard one after another.

’Wha—?!’

Each tiny spark carried unimaginable force.

Orvak was lifted clean off his feet before being hurled through a nearby building.

The entire structure collapsed behind him.

Jack calmly raised one hand.

Pointing it forward, streams of white light rapidly converged around his palm before condensing into a brilliant sphere.

A heartbeat later—

BOOOOM!

The sphere tore through the air with a deafening sonic boom before colliding with the very building Orvak had crashed into.

The explosion instantly erased what remained of the structure.

Smoke and shattered debris billowed into the sky.

WHOOOSH!

Jack abruptly launched backward.

Orvak’s tail carved through the spot where he had been standing, slicing the earth apart as though it were nothing more than paper.

The Abberant’s foot touched the ground once.

Then he blurred forward.

Within an instant, he was already in front of the head of the Kyre Family.

The same maddening grin remained plastered across his face.

"Come on! Aren’t you from the Kyre Family? Go all out! Show me what you can really do already! Do you want to die?!"

The words left his mouth while his claws hovered only inches from Jack’s face.

Jack remained perfectly calm.

His eyes never left Orvak.

Tiny sparks danced around his raised hand.

A grin slowly formed on his lips.

"You ask me that..."

"...while you’re holding back?"

CLANG!

The impact shattered the ground beneath them.

A massive crevice spread across the street.

Orvak’s eyes shifted downward.

An enormous weapon had intercepted his claws.

...An axe.

The instant he realized that—

A brilliant light erupted across the axe’s blade.

Without hesitation, Orvak sprang backward.

He crossed dozens of metres in a flash before landing atop a nearby building.

A sinister grin remained on his face.

The radiant glow gradually faded.

Jack slowly lifted his weapon.

The colossal war axe looked worthy of legends.

Its enormous double-headed blade appeared to have been forged from radiant golden metal, polished so flawlessly that it gleamed like a miniature sun beneath the daylight.

Both edges were sharpened to perfection.

Elegant, almost divine patterns flowed naturally across the blade, making it seem less like a weapon crafted by man and more like something shaped by celestial hands.

The massive axe head was supported by a thick black handle wrapped in rich leather for a firm grip.

Golden bands reinforced the shaft at regular intervals, combining elegance with overwhelming durability.

Despite its impossible size, the weapon radiated majesty more than savagery.

Every inch of it embodied overwhelming authority.

It didn’t merely look like a weapon built for war.

It looked like a weapon created to pass judgment.

Held firmly in Jack’s hands, the colossal axe resembled the manifestation of divine might itself.

A single swing looked capable of reducing mountains, fortresses, and entire armies to dust.

"Oh...?"

Orvak slowly licked his lips.

The excitement in his yellow eyes only deepened.

Jack rested the head of the massive axe upon his shoulder.

Blood slowly trickled from the corner of his lips.

"You picked the wrong man today."

BOOOOOM!

The instant those words fell...

Both monsters exploded forward.

Buildings collapsed behind Orvak under the force of his acceleration.

The streets behind Jack erupted into shattered concrete.

Both figures became blurs.

One represented humanity’s strongest.

The other...

The pinnacle of the Abberants.

A Big Four Legacy...

Against a Big Five Commander.

They closed the distance in the blink of an eye.

Only seconds remained before the true battle began.
