My Tribrid System: More than a Monster

Chapter 433: The Vanguard’s Strength

Chapter 431

"Attack."

The order was given.

The Vanguard flew into action.

Pfffffffff—!

The Abberants weren’t about to freeze or shy away from a good fight either.

The moment they saw the Vanguard dash forward, the creatures lunged into action.

Massive feet thundered across the ground while Raze stood in their midst, completely unbothered.

Ella landed on an erupted earth platform, her staff firmly in hand as she watched the Vanguard members blur into action around her.

Earth abilities erupted into the air.

Claws collided with earth.

Tails swept through the battlefield.

BAM! BOOOM!

A Vanguard weaved between a pair of claws before swinging his bare fist forward with all the strength he could muster.

BAM!

BOOOM!

His fist slammed into the Abberant’s head.

The creature’s head was thrown backward, its neck cracking violently as a gush of blue blood sprayed into the air.

A towering earth pillar immediately shot upward.

The Vanguard landed on it.

Raze continued manipulating the battlefield, causing more pillars and platforms to erupt from the ground one after another.

Each one gave the Vanguard another surface to push off from.

One Vanguard launched himself from a platform.

A claw streaked through the air with blazing speed.

It was about to strike him.

But in a blur of motion, the Vanguard vanished.

The Abberant’s eyes widened in confusion.

’Oh? Super Speed?!’

A pair of short swords suddenly appeared in the Vanguard’s hands.

He reappeared beside the creature and swung both weapons toward its neck with all the speed he could muster.

The Abberant ducked beneath the strike with surprising ease.

Its fist rocketed upward, aiming to smash the human out of the air.

BANG!

The fist struck nothing but empty air.

Whoooosh!

Raze twitched his fingers against the ground.

A massive earth spear tore forward at neck-breaking speed.

Within a flash, it pierced through the Abberant’s neck and burst out the other side.

A rain of blue blood cascaded through the air.

But the creature wasn’t dead yet.

Instead, a surge of adrenaline coursed through its veins.

The Abberant snapped back into motion.

Only to find another Vanguard already in front of it.

His fist was cocked backward.

Then—

It shot forward like a bullet.

BOOM!

The hand slammed directly into the gaping hole in the creature’s neck.

"...."

Like wet noodles, the remaining flesh of the neck tore apart completely.

The head slid off.

It crashed into the earth.

A moment later, the towering body followed.

Raze continued moving between the massive feet of the Abberants, constantly erecting earth pillars and platforms for his members to land on.

Meanwhile, Ella moved alongside the Vanguard fighters, her staff constantly spinning through her fingers as she watched for openings and prepared to strike whenever an Abberant came too close.

The VMS boots had one major advantage.

And perhaps one major disadvantage.

They needed a platform.

Without a solid surface to push off from, a user could only remain airborne for roughly half a minute before needing to land.

That was why Raze’s earth manipulation was so important.

He wasn’t merely attacking the Abberants.

He was creating the battlefield his comrades needed to fight.

Though these warriors were only Vanguards—the lowest rank within the Vanguard Order—they were not fighters to be toyed with.

The other military forces rarely fought Abberants directly.

The Vanguard Order was different.

They hunted these creatures wherever they hid.

Across planets.

Across hostile territories.

They lived and died fighting Abberants.

And that experience showed.

The coordination, teamwork, and reliability these warriors displayed were almost flawless.

They streaked past one another without a single collision.

One warrior would draw a claw away while another slipped through the opening.

Another would attack from above while someone else intercepted a tail from the side.

Their movements flowed into one another as seamlessly as a machine.

Compressed gas hissed from their VMS boots as they zipped through the air, narrowly avoiding claw slashes by mere inches.

They were faster.

They were more coordinated.

They were more experienced.

But that didn’t mean every Vanguard possessed the raw power necessary to take down an Abberant alone.

Most of them were there to create openings for those with either Super Strength or Earth abilities to finish the job, or at least injure the Abberants enough for the Captains to deliver the killing blow.

"Man, I’m feeling itchy!" Ella shouted as she erected one last platform before vaulting toward it.

She swung her staff a few times through the air.

A gust of wind kicked up around her as she launched forward with rapid velocity.

Within a second, she was already in front of a creature whose claws were inches away from her face.

A smirk appeared on her lips.

Then Ella ducked beneath the strike with ease.

Without hesitation, she hurled her staff upward.

The weapon crashed into the Abberant’s chest.

BOOM!

A resounding impact echoed throughout the battlefield as the creature’s chest caved inward like folded paper.

Blood and gore erupted into the air.

Ella landed on a raised pillar, perching on the side of the earth construct.

Another Abberant rushed toward her.

Within a blink, it crossed the distance between them.

Its fist rocketed toward her.

Ella simply launched herself into the air at the last possible moment.

BAM!

The fist smashed into the pillar.

The entire structure shattered beneath the force of the impact.

Kicking the air beneath her feet, Ella spun around before diving downward.

Her black suit glowed with power, causing the muscles throughout her body to tense.

That same strangely sinister smile remained plastered across her face.

She swung her staff through the air, lifting it above her head.

Then—

BANG!

BOOOM!

It connected.

The Abberant’s eyes widened in both horror and pain.

The sound of bones cracking filled the air.

Its neck caved inward.

Then its entire skull followed.

The ground shattered beneath the creature’s feet.

To the Abberant, it felt as though the staff weighed a ton.

Yet the way Ella wielded it made the weapon appear as light as paper.

Ella kicked off the Abberant’s body and dove beneath another punch.

Her staff shot forward.

BANG!

It smashed into the creature’s outstretched hand, shattering the bones within it.

"Oi! When are you gonna join? I’m not complaining, but the others could really use your help soo—"

"Just stop talking."

Raze’s cold voice cut through the battlefield.

He landed on a towering earth platform with his axe firmly in hand.

His jet-black hair wavered in the wind as his obsidian eyes swept across the chaotic battlefield.

"Kill him! I’m sure the leaders will reward us for the Spine Reaper’s head!" an Abberant shouted with dark glee.

Before his comrades could move, he dashed forward himself.

Due to his towering frame, he covered the distance between himself and the human within seconds.

His leg rose into the air, poised to come crashing down with enough force to crush Raze beneath it.

Raze remained completely unperturbed.

His hands tightened around the handle of his axe.

Then—

BOOM!

The Abberant’s foot smashed into the platform with tremendous force.

The earth construct shattered beneath him, exploding into a rain of dust and debris.

Whoooosh!

Raze cut through the dust like an arrow.

His expression remained as cold as ever.

Before the creature could even register what was happening, the Captain’s axe cleaved through its spine.

The Abberant’s head rolled cleanly from its neck.

Before the body could hit the ground, Raze landed on its falling back.

His axe pointed behind him as he locked eyes with the other creatures charging toward him.

Then—

He launched himself from the dead Abberant.

His body cut through the air like a missile.
