Chapter 457
Standing in his full werewolf form was Bruce.
Each breath released an air of mist as the drones panned around his massive body, capturing every detail of the creature now standing before the entire world.
Unknown to him, the viewers were already turning against him.
Not like Bruce cared at all.
Felix vaulted into the air and landed on a rooftop.
His torn arm had fully regenerated, and his bleeding body had completely healed.
Seeing the fully transformed Ray, his gaze flickered toward the drones hovering in the air.
’Damn. Why?!’
Meanwhile, inside Ray’s mindspace, Elyon was also voicing the question that was running through the minds of the Tribrid’s friends.
"Why? You know that the whole world is watching?"
Ray stood firmly behind Bruce, who was in the chair.
His arms were folded as he prepared to watch what was about to happen.
"Let them watch. I rather my secret get revealed to the whole world than Van or those I care about to die."
Elyon was about to say something when Ray sighed.
"You know? I did like reading all these online novels. One trope I despised is the overpowered main character choosing to keep their abilities hidden while his loved ones loses their lives. If this was a novel, I hope the author goes to hell because I’m not going to follow his whims.
This is my fucking live and I choose to protect my friends no matter what!"
Elyon blinked for a few seconds before heaving a tired sigh.
"Well, the deed is already done."
Turning his head in Bruce’s direction, the celestial frowned.
"And why did you take the chair so easily?"
"...."
The werewolf didn’t rush to reply as his claws squeezed the chair tightly.
"... Because this wench hurt our ticket home. I need to give her a nice payback for almost sabotaging our ticket home."
Elyon clicked his tongue.
"Should have guessed."
Ray’s gaze flickered toward his system screen with a small smile on his face.
’Oh? A plus fifty to all my stats in full transformation? Wow... now I really need to grow stronger so I can unlock the ability to fully transform without Bruce’s help.’
∆∆∆∆∆
Silver was also expressing shock, which could be seen in her eyes as she stared at the werewolf from top to bottom.
She was three metres tall while the werewolf was four metres tall.
Hence, her head was craned backward as she tried taking in the werewolf’s full form.
The Aspirant who almost got attacked quickly scrambled out of the way, leaving these two monsters in a stand-off.
"I knew there was something strange about you. Not every kid ca—"
BOOM—!
Bruce moved from where he stood with blazing speed.
In a flash, he appeared directly in front of the Abberant with a snort, his fist rocketing toward her like a bullet.
"Shut up, wench."
WAM!
Silver hadn’t expected the sudden movement, so she had barely brought her guard in front of her face when the punch crashed into her arms with bone-rattling force.
The punch sent her skidding a metre backward, only for a second fist to crash into her raised guard with equal force.
And this time, she was sent blasting backward.
"Come o—"
Bruce snapped his gaze in the direction of the Corps, freezing them all in place.
"Don’t nweed anwy help!"
BANG!
Bruce tore his gaze back to the fight, only for Silver’s fist to crash into his chest with the force of a speeding train.
He shot backward for a split second.
Clap!
Felix appeared in Ray’s position and took the crash—his body smashing through a building with a deafening BOOM!
Concrete shattered around him as his body tore through the structure, sending chunks of debris and a cloud of dust billowing into the air.
Only for Bruce to be seen atop the building where the werewolf had been a while ago.
BOOM—!
Bruce shot forward like a rocket, causing the roof beneath his feet to cave inward from the sheer force of his launch.
Broken concrete was blasted outward as his massive body tore through the air.
Mid air, he swung his claws a few times through the air.
SHING! SHING! SHING!
Claw slashes burst forward with blazing speed.
Each slash ripped through the air with enough force to make the surrounding dust scatter violently.
’Oi! Your body has grown stronger, kid. This evolution did you well.’
Silver blurred forward.
Her body became nothing more than a silver streak as her claws and tail lashed through the air to deflect all the claw slashes speeding towards her.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
One after another, the attacks were knocked aside.
Some were shattered by her claws while others were redirected by the sweeping movements of her tail.
Sidestepping one slash, she bolted forward—catching Bruce off guard with her sudden speed.
Her feet barely seemed to touch the ground before she was already within striking distance.
But even with that, the werewolf was more experienced than Ray, hence he was quick enough to regain his posture.
His instincts kicked in immediately.
His hands clamped together, muscles bulging beneath his thick brown fur as he sent them hurling down at Silver’s head like a boulder.
BOOOM!
The Abberant ducked under the attack.
Bruce’s massive hands slammed into the concrete where her head had been a moment ago, causing the ground to explode beneath the impact.
CRAAAAACK!
The concrete shattered apart in a spiderweb of cracks.
Debris and dust rose into the air as broken pieces of the street were thrown outward.
Silver twisted her hips, slipping past the descending attack while keeping her gaze locked on the werewolf.
The Aspirant Corps and Sergeant Lincoln stood atop the buildings, spectating the destructive battle unfolding below with no way to join.
Not like they had any choice, though.
The sheer difference in strength between the two monsters made approaching them little more than suicide.
BAM!
Silver’s fist crashed into Bruce’s guard.
BAM!
Bruce immediately answered with a savage strike of his own.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Thunderous blows were exchanged.
Every impact sent shockwaves through the surrounding area, making windows rattle and loose pieces of concrete fall from the nearby buildings.
Bruce’s body was suddenly sent shooting backward, his massive frame skidding through the air and almost crashing into a car.
Lifting one foot, he smashed it into the ground.
BOOOOM!
The earth ruptured beneath his foot, causing a five-metre crevice to open up as the force of the impact stopped his backward momentum.
Dust rose around his legs.
The werewolf barely had time to regain his balance.
The Abberant refused to give him even a moment to relax.
Silver lunged forward.
Her body cut through the dust with terrifying speed, and soon, her tail was seen slashing towards his head.
WHOOSH!
Bruce’s instincts screamed.
Diving to the side, the tail sliced through the car Bruce was about to crash into.
TCHAAAAK!
The vehicle split in half.
Metal shrieked as the tail tore straight through it, sending pieces of the car sliding across the street.
BOOM—!
Bruce lunged forward with a loud growl.
"AWHROOO!"
Silver snapped her head in his direction.
Her tail was still stuck in the remains of the car.
Unhesitatingly, Bruce closed the distance.
His massive hand shot forward and grabbed her face.
His claws dug against her silver chitin as he swung her head forward while his knee shot upward.
WAM!
The werewolf’s knee crashed into the Abberant’s face with brutal force.
The impact snapped her head backward and sent her entire upper body reeling.
Her tail finally loosened from the wreckage.
It darted forward like a snake.
But Bruce was ready.
His hand shot out and caught the tail in mid-air.
His claws tightened around it.
With a firm tug, the Abberant’s body was violently pulled towards him.
Silver’s feet left the ground.
Bruce wasted no time in wrapping both hands around her waist.
His massive arms locked around her body like iron restraints.
Trish’s face twitched at the scene.
But the next heartbeat, Bruce bent his knees.
His muscles tightened beneath his fur.
Then he jumped.
For a brief moment, both monsters rose into the air.
Bruce twisted his body backward.
And then—
BOOOOOOM!
He crashed backward with the Abberant’s head splitting the concrete ground apart.
CRAAAAASH!
The street erupted beneath them.
Chunks of concrete shot violently into the air while cracks raced outward from the point of impact.
Dust swallowed both figures for a moment.
Blood rushed from Silver’s head and stained the shattered concrete beneath her.
Bruce released his grip and rose from the impact zone, his chest heaving as he stared down at the Abberant.
Berg gulped loudly at this scene.
His face had gone pale.
’So-So he isn’t even human? The kid wasn’t even human to begin with?’
His gaze remained locked on Bruce.
’No wonder the look he always gave me was so dangerous. You won’t escape this, I swear it.’
[Jimmy_Parker: Fuck! That was superb. Say what you have to about him, but for now; the werewolf is really giving it to the Abberant.]
