The two attacks collided head-on, and moments later, the point of impact erupted into a violent explosion, flooding the battlefield with a blinding white light that engulfed all three of them.

However, before the light had fully cleared, Norman burst through the lingering smoke and appeared directly before Ishtar, sweeping his muscular arm toward her in a devastating horizontal arc.

Her eyes widened at his sudden appearance as she instinctively thrust out a hand, hastily raising a green barrier between them.

But it was too late.

The barrier had only just begun to form before Norman’s arm tore straight through it, shattering its incomplete state as the swing caught Ishtar and hurled her across the battlefield.

Right after sending her away, he sharply turned toward his right as he sensed another attack approaching from the demon.

In that instant, he stomped his foot into the ground, drawing upon the Strength of Heracles as a massive wall of earth burst upward before him.

Three gigantic thorns with drill-like heads slammed into the makeshift barrier instead, embedding themselves deep into the stone with deafening force.

Without breaking sequence, Norman drove his fist into the very wall he had just created, applying just enough force to launch the entire mass of earth hurtling toward the male demon.

The possessed Glen leaped sideways, narrowly avoiding the flying wall as it thundered past him with his own thorns still lodged within it.

But the moment his feet touched the ground, Norman was already on him.

Ishtar suddenly lifted into the skies before extending both hands toward the battlefield below, releasing several emerald beams of energy over the two of them.

The space between the three combatants lit up with colliding colors as explosions continuously erupted across the academy grounds.

Elsewhere within the academy, Mr. Kieran, the third-year form tutor, continued directing the remaining students out of the C-Wing building, which had already begun trembling beneath the force of the ongoing battle.

Realizing the situation had gone beyond anything the academy could contain, he quickly placed a call.

As soon as the line connected...

"H-Hello, Ethan..."

The three-way battle continued uninterrupted. Each combatant relentlessly sought out the others, refusing to yield an inch.

Among them, the demon possessing Glen was by far the weakest.

Rather than confronting either of them head-on, he remained at a distance, launching attacks whenever opportunities presented themselves before immediately evading retaliation, patiently waiting for a decisive opening.

The opportunity finally presented itself when Ishtar landed a direct blast on Dark Nova, sending the Hero several meters backward before he crashed straight into the C-Wing building.

The instant the attack connected, Demon Glen immediately lunged straight toward Ishtar.

To him, this was his best chance. Her attention had drifted away from him, and if he could kill her now, escape might still be possible.

However...

Halfway through his charge, what appeared to be a bolt of lightning suddenly descended from the sky and struck him head-on.

This was Ethan.

And his foot came crashing down onto Demon Glen’s back with such overwhelming force that the demon was driven into the earth, the impact excavating a massive crater beneath them as a thunderous shockwave burst across the courtyard.

The force of it even sent Ishtar stumbling backward.

When the dust and flying debris finally settled, Ethan stood at the center of the crater with one foot firmly planted on Demon Glen’s back.

The demon’s mouth hung open as blood poured from it, unable to even lift himself from beneath the crushing weight.

Streaks of purple and blue lightning coursed continuously across Ethan’s body, crackling around him while arcs danced through the air.

He looked down at the demon with nothing but cold disgust. "What exactly do you think you’re trying to do?"

Not far away, Ishtar’s eyes widened. "Lord Ethan..."

She hadn’t expected he’d be here.

At that same moment, Dark Nova burst out from the side of the damaged C-Wing at blinding speed, his fist already driving toward Ethan.

But Mr. Stark responded just as quickly, extending his left hand toward the incoming Hero as a transparent barrier instantly materialized between them.

Dark Nova’s punch landed on it and the space before him suddenly distorted as the overwhelming force behind his punch seemingly disappeared into the warped air.

It was a localized gravitational field barrier that had been deployed against dark nova’s punch.

After his first attack had failed, Dark Nova drew his fist back once more, the muscles along his arm tightening as he prepared to throw another strike.

But before he could, Ethan waved a hand, and an invisible repelling force erupted between them, blasting Dark Nova several meters backward.

At the very same instant, Ethan stretched his other hand toward Ishtar and pulled her across the distance with a powerful attractive force.

The moment she reached him, Ethan caught hold of her arm and both their bodies instantly vanished into a brilliant flash of lightning.

Dark Nova had already lunged forward, his fist cutting through the space they had just occupied. But he missed by the narrowest of margins

The Hero’s eyes widened before his expression darkened with fury as he unleashed a thunderous roar.

Some time later at the Stark Residence...

Ishtar sat on one of the sofas of the living room, smudges of dirt still visible across her face while dried traces of blood remained around her clothing.

Francesca stayed beside her throughout, gently trying to comfort the young demon.

Not far away, Ethan paced across the room.

Although his three-piece suit remained mostly intact, it had become noticeably disheveled from the sudden confrontation at the academy.

His expression remained troubled.

After recounting everything that had happened, Ishtar lowered her head. "I’m sorry, Lord Ethan."

Her voice trembled. "I’m really... so sorry."

Tears welled in her eyes. "I didn’t understand what was happening. I thought... I thought the boy he was hurting was my friend."

"I couldn’t bear watching him do that to Glen."

She clenched her hands together. "I know now that I was wrong... I’m really sorry."

Ethan let out a long sigh. He eventually stopped pacing before looking at her. "It’s fine, Ishtar."

He shook his head. "I share part of the blame. The King actually informed me about the Hero’s investigation beforehand."

"If I had simply warned you that someone like him was out there searching for demons perhaps things would’ve gone differently."

He exhaled once more. "Although, I still don’t understand why he attacked you. The King assured me you would be exempt."

Silence lingered briefly then Ethan sighed and said. "It’s fine, I’ll deal with it."

He turned toward Francesca. "Please stay with Ishtar until I return."

Francesca inclined her head.

Ethan the turned and walked toward the entrance. As he stepped through the doorway, two summons emerged from his magic circle and took up positions on both sides of the entrance.

Without wording the instruction, Nina and Arael already understood they were to defend the house, just in case.

After taking a few more steps, Mr Stark disappeared in a flash of lightning.

Similar to how Isabella moved between shadows, Ethan possessed his own method of traversing great distances.

Through the Aspect of Charge, he could dissolve into lightning itself, entering existing electrical currents and traveling through power lines, wiring, and every connected electrical network before emerging from another connected point.

What would ordinarily take several minutes or even longer, to cross could instead be reduced to mere moments.

Additionally, the ability wasn’t limited to Ethan alone.

Anyone in direct physical contact with him at the moment of activation would be carried along the same path, their bodies dissolving into the same current of lightning before reforming alongside him at the destination.
