Leaving aside the supreme genius

The café grew quieter than it had any right to be, where the lovers and heavens looked at each other. Every word. Every touch. Every compliment was a testament to their alignment. The thing is, this did not happen. It just confirmed that the void was observing them slowly coming to realize that no one can see them the way they would with reality.

Emma in her mind: My experience is a little more nuanced. There are people with very low EQ who do not place their own success and desires ahead of those of others. And this subset of low EQ people can be much more amenable to cooperation than narcissistic types.

My spouse has very high EQ but acknowledged this faculty and was willing to accept/request very frequent appreciation with empathy and emotional regulation. In my view, acceptance of emotional responsibility is what made it possible for her to accept help.

From this perspective, affective responsibility is essential because it is the basis for accepting help. Someone who is able to give and receive help has the capacity to form a partnership. Once a very strong partnership is in place, it becomes possible for most empathy and emotional regulation skills to be contributed by a single person.

Karl stood first. Not abruptly. Not coldly. Not stupidly. Just with that same calm, trained finality he had carried out of Helheim and into every honest ending since. He looked at Sophia for a long moment, the red-haired girl whose mind operated at an alpha omega epsilon delta degree, whose violet-gold eyes held entire collapsing timelines like casual observations.

Karl in his thoughts: Freyja says all the time that I’m smarter than her (although there are some subjects she absolutely dominates me in—beauty and love are the top two), and she LOVES it. She doesn’t want to be the smarter one. He’s said that it would be exhausting for him, and he wouldn’t have the patience for it. She's also just so proud and supportive of me. And if she’s ever not in the mood for a super deep intellectual conversation, she just tells me that like an adult, and we switch gears.

Karl: You came looking for the source of the ripples. You found it. But some conversations don’t finish in one sitting. That is to say that no one could ever pretend the honest new beginning happens all at once. The thing is, this love cannot pretend it does not include knowing when to step back and let the question breathe.

Emma rose beside him. The three goddesses within her stirred—Asase Ya’s fertile patience, Anat’s war clarity, and Inanna’s starlit understanding—but none of them pushed forward. She simply placed a hand on the back of her brother’s chair, grounding.

Emma: You talk like someone who already knows how this ends. Maybe you do. But we’re not done living it yet. Stay. Think. The tea’s still warm. For now.

Sophia didn’t try to stop them.

She simply watched, head slightly tilted, as if cataloging the exact angle at which mercy and boundaries could coexist without canceling each other. Her red braid caught the dying light through the window like a living flame, refusing to be extinguished.

No words followed them to the door.

The bell above it rang once, soft, ordinary, final.

Then they were gone.

Sophia Hirotomi Alpha Chronos sat alone at the scarred wooden table.

The barista kept stealing glances. The rain outside resumed its patient tapping against the glass. The half-empty cups of tea cooled in front of her, no longer obeying temperature in quite the same way—another small fracture Karl had left behind without meaning to.

She stared at the empty seats across from her for a long time.

Sophia (whispering to no one, voice carrying the weight of ten thousand solved universes): He didn’t flinch. He didn’t posture. He simply… chose. Not ignorance. Not rejection. Just an honest limitation. That is to say that no one could ever pretend a mind like mine has ever encountered mercy that refuses to become control. Try dating someone who is significantly different than you in terms of either intelligence or education level, and I think you’ll find out fairly quickly that it matters. In terms of having enough common ground to have conversations, fitting in with friends and family, the opportunities that come with intelligence and education… I just don’t think it works if you’re not at a reasonably similar level. The thing is, this love cannot pretend it does not include the terror of being truly seen and still allowed to remain complicated.

She reached out and touched the rim of Karl’s abandoned cup.

The liquid inside shimmered onceequations blooming and dissolving like fireflies made of pure math. For a fraction of a second the café lights flickered, as if reality itself had noticed the meta-intelligence now turning its full attention toward a boy who had trained mercy until it became infrastructure.

Sophia smiled small, genuine, and more dangerous than any weapon she had ever designed.

Sophia: Interesting.

She leaned back in the booth, red hair spilling across her shoulders like living starlight, eyes shifting through probabilities faster than light could follow.

The honest new story had just gained another player.

And somewhere across town, in the small house where tea still remembered how to be warm, Karl felt the distant pull through the Omega ring—not a threat, not yet, but the unmistakable sensation of a mind operating at a level that made even nine worlds pay attention.

He didn’t turn back.

Not yet.

Alright! This is just stupid! I should not take his stupidity. It is like he is fumbling every buddy he gets. because of his intelligence. I mean this is not fucking normal.

That is to say that no one could ever pretend the beginning stays simple once the right questions start asking themselves back.

The rain kept falling on Carlisle.

And Sophia Hirotomi Alpha Chronos sat alone in the café, already rewriting the shape of the question she had consttucted.
