I was reading a certain novel whose name I won't mention yesterday. A novel about a certain free use world where fruits are used to barter for you know what and now... I'm traumatized.
I'm wondering if I should even continue to write after that

Chapter 229
Fuck. Even with the hundreds of thousands of mana and HP potions in my arsenal, each and every strike of his brought my HP to the near-empty point. It was an infinite cycle that never seemed to end. I wasn’t being healed as quickly as I was sustaining injuries from his divinity alone.
[Warning]
[Bloodline reacting negatively to the divine power in the vicinity]
[The user will lose 10 HP every five seconds]
As if that wasn’t enough, his power was immense on top of that. He wasn’t like Elara, but he was right behind her. Best when it came to divine power, more than when it came to his massive sword and shield.
It was like a sea. No matter how big a bucket is, it can never empty the sea itself. No matter how much divinity he used, it seemed to be never-ending.
It was impossible to defeat him, so buying time was the only option.
But even that was difficult given his power scale and the difference between our powers. My experience and control held in the beginning, but in the end, it was useless.
All I could do was buy time, but the last thirty minutes just wouldn’t seem to end. Thankfully, time passed, and the ten-hour window of activation for the poison I laced Carlson's and the king’s wine with happened just before things got to the extreme point.
But even then, I used two drops with Carlson, just enough to make him incapacitated, but with George, I used four drops. The objective from the beginning was to kill him.
But even that…
“GET BACK HERE!!!”
A sonic boom erupted behind me as the divine energy coming from George erupted like a damn nuclear bomb. It immediately engulfed the entire area, and I could tell the poison was going to give out.
He would soon be on my ass.
But, unfortunately, he was too late for that.
There, in the distance, I could see. Elara almost turned to stone except for one of her eyes and a little bit of her head, but even that would be gone soon. Elizabeth was lying a little away, completely spent of mana.
And finally, Carlson, who was trying to stand up with a dagger in his hand, a last desperate yell as he pushed his body up to kill Elara at all costs, but…
Elara’s remaining shone as soon as I was in the range, and…
Boom!
No, it was more like a pop than a boom.
Carlson’s head exploded like a balloon as the seal Elara had placed on him through me was activated, exploding his head and killing him on the spot.
The darkness emitting from his body didn’t even have enough time to do anything about it.
He just died.
And the stone layer on Elara began to crumble as her muscular body was free from whatever she was bound with, and she stood tall in front of her husband’s body in her mighty battle armor before her sharp gaze turned to me.
She raised her hand, and all I remember seeing after that was a flash my senses couldn’t keep up with.
All I know is that when I came to my senses, there was no longer a forest behind me. And in the deep crater somewhere, lying almost dead, was none other than the opponent who had clearly made a contract with a god beyond the curtain to gain immense divinity.
Elara walked past me as my ears rang, making her way to George.
I turned. Mostly to look at the destruction a simple wave of her hand had brought, than the overpowered cheat character lying bloodied on the crater with no golden armor on him, his body blackened and charred in several places, and no hair on his body.
He was just a husk remaining.
Still alive. But only that.
“Cra… ggh…”
Some groans left his lips, perhaps trying to say something. While I couldn’t make sense of it because my ears still hurt, Elara could make it out perfectly, and her voice was clear enough for even my bleeding ears to pick up.
“What are you talking about, Your Majesty?”
“My husband turned over to the dark side and summoned monsters. While you fought the monsters, the queen valiantly bought time for you by holding him back, while I was stuck in some trap and couldn’t help.”
“When things seemed desperate, you activated all your powers, perishing with my husband together.”
“I had proof of the first half, but the second half was unfortunately obscured because of the divinity you emitted, disrupting all mana channels to gather any mana traces for evidence.”
“Such an unfortunate day for our kingdom.”
“We lost a king and a hero.”
Haha. Even if my ears were hurt, I could still make out what she was saying. Her voice was so sharp and clear that even her story sounded perfect, even if it was just a story made on the spot.
It wasn’t planned; I knew that much.
If it wasn’t, then…
“My lady…” I said, not even picking up my own sound myself. But I knew she would, and my mind was fixated on saying what I needed to: “May I be the one… to end him?”
Elara turned to me, who had made his way to her despite being in an injured state. She looked at me for a while before she simply nodded.
My body felt like it was going to fall apart, and my mana had been empty long ago. Even if I could use the system right now, there was a sense of urgency. The king was about to perish, and before he did, I had to be the one to kill him.
“You…” At the end, as I raised my daggers to drive them into his chest, I could make out what he was saying, or maybe it was just my imagination, but as my daggers descended on him, he said, “I knew you were… one of those… heretics.”
Those were his last words. How I could make them out was beyond me, but for some reason, I remembered them even when my mind gave away, and something took over my body.
Exhaustion, perhaps. Or something else.
But whatever it was, I was out of it now.

I had an amazing dream.
What was amazing about it was beyond me.
But for some reason, it was amazing.
I was in a big mansion, with a big garden, and in the middle of that garden was a lake. In the middle of that lake was an artificial pagoda with a sitting space.
Sitting at the tea table, I had various cakes and sweets before me, along with a cup of tea that smelled really good. The fragrance was so calm and soothing that I felt all my worries disappear.
“Do you like it?”
And then there was her.
Sitting across from me was a woman so beautiful I would have to apologize to Rayla. My mind couldn’t even register how someone could be so beautiful, yet not invoke my boundless lust.
I had seen goddesses and succubus queens, but none of them was as beautiful as her.
She wasn’t just beautiful. She was ethereal. She was otherworldly.
She was…
“Huh?”
What was I thinking again?
I looked down at the teacup. It seemed so real.
I looked back at her to answer her question, which I could, for some reason, remember, but not what I was thinking just now.
“I like it. What is it?”
“Tea made from fenri leaves. It is very calming.”
I picked up the tea as she answered, placing the cup to my lips and drinking the tea in it.
While it sure tasted good, I, for some reason, couldn’t feel the usual taste of tea. The taste on my lips was very familiar.
‘Watermelons?’
“Huh?”
What was I thinking just now?
I looked down at the teacup. It seemed so real.
I looked back at her to answer her question, which I could, for some reason, remember, but not what I was thinking just now.
“I like it. What is i—”
Huh?
What was that just now?
“What is it? Do you not like it?”
I looked at her, and then I looked at the teacup. For some reason, something told me to answer her. Something deep within.
Something… hereditary.
“How long… have I been here?”
The woman before me, who just seemed so beautiful it was blinding, simply tilted her head with her hands underneath her chin and her elbows on the table. She was leaning forward like a coquettish, cute girl, the smile of innocence never leaving her face.
“What are you talking about? Do you not like the tea?”
What?
What was I just thinking about?
“Why don’t you try the tea?”
Her voice snapped me out of my thoughts, and I, closing my eyes to shake away the nagging feeling at my heart for a moment, opened them again to pick up the tea.
Placing the cup to my lips, I drank from it.
This time, it tasted different. Still familiar, but not as familiar as before.
It tasted like dark chocolate.
“Oh… You’re awake?”
