Wen Qingye examined the powdered herbs and analyzed carefully, "These medicinal ingredients have crumbled to dust; they must be at least a hundred years old. It seems this Sumeru Mustard Seed has been here for at least several hundred years."
The Ice Python flicked its tongue and said slowly, "In any case, this is a pleasant surprise. Even if you don’t use these treasures yourself, you can still exchange them for what you need."
Wen Qingye laughed, feeling a surge of joy in his heart. "You’re right. Many Ancient Countries in the Eastern Profound Domain have places specifically for trading treasures. With these resources, I can also exchange them for the things I need."
........
Time flowed on. A month had now passed since the Great Wilderness Ancient Stele disappeared once again.
And news of the struggle over the Great Wilderness Ancient Stele had spread far and wide.
In an instant, more than half of the Eastern Profound Domain was shaken. While a few other geniuses had made a name for themselves, it was Wen Qingye’s name that truly spread like wildfire.
He had killed Li Xingyun of Nebula Hall and Zhu Yan of Yihai Country, defeated Zhong Tiandao of the Daoist School of Non-action, killed Jiang Wu, Huang Zhentian, and Gu Xu of Taiyi Pavilion, forced Hankong to use the Blood Transformation Secret Technique to escape, and finally, battled alongside an Ice Giant Python against Taiyi Pavilion Elder Lim Tian.
With this battle, Wen Qingye had thoroughly made a name for himself.
「Taiyi Cloud Sea, atop Cyan Cloud Mountain.」
Countless Taiyi Pavilion disciples gazed at the immense, boundless Cyan Cloud List before them.
Wen Qingye’s name was ranked tenth. There were hundreds of names below his, and only nine above. Of those nine, four belonged to Taiyi Pavilion.
Gao Yuerou’s mouth hung slightly open, unable to close.
"That Wen Qingye from the Celestial Profound Sect is despicable! If I ever meet him, I’ll be sure to cut him down!"
"That’s right! Destroy both his body and Primordial Spirit, so he can never be reborn!"
"Someone actually dared to challenge the prestige of our Taiyi Pavilion. He must be tired of living!"
"Kill! Kill! Kill! The next time I encounter anyone from the Celestial Profound Sect, Jade Maiden Sect, or Desert North Ancient Land, I’ll leave no one alive—a clean slaughter!"
The surrounding Taiyi Pavilion disciples were all filled with righteous indignation, their emotions stirred into a frenzy.
"Junior Sister Gao!"
Just then, a man walked over to Gao Yuerou, smiling as he addressed her.
Gao Yuerou turned to look at the man and froze for a moment, her brows knitting together. "Oh, it’s Senior Brother Tang."
When the surrounding crowd saw the man, they all began to greet him.
The man’s cultivation was not high, only at the Second Heaven of the Destruction Realm, but his status was incredible. He was Tang Ming, the youngest disciple of the current Taiyi Pavilion Master.
"What’s this? Is Junior Sister Gao not happy to see me?" Noticing Gao Yuerou’s displeasure, Tang Ming paid it no mind and let out a soft chuckle.
Gao Yuerou made no effort to hide her disgust. She nodded and said, "That’s right. I’m not happy."
Hearing her words, Tang Ming’s smile vanished. His expression changed drastically as he repeated, "Not happy?"
Tang Ming never expected Gao Yuerou to disrespect him so openly in front of such a large crowd. How could he not be furious?
"Junior Sister Gao, hmph," Tang Ming sneered. "You should know a few things. Here in Taiyi Pavilion, your aptitude is worse than that of many a Registered Disciple. If it weren’t for Zhang Xiaoyun, who do you think you’d be? Do you think you get by on your pretty face alone?"
Tang Ming’s words were exceptionally sharp. As he spoke, his eyes brazenly roved up and down Gao Yuerou’s body.
Gao Yuerou pressed her lips together and took a step to the side, fear beginning to creep into her heart.
Tang Ming suddenly extended an arm, blocking Gao Yuerou’s path. He grinned. "What, trying to leave?"
"I’m leaving. Are you going to stop me?" Gao Yuerou’s face turned beet red, and she instinctively took several steps backward.
"You’re going to have to take responsibility for what you just said, you know that?" Tang Ming licked his lips, a strange light gleaming in his eyes.
One look told Gao Yuerou that this was bad, and she immediately tried to sidestep him and leave.
"Trying to run?" Tang Ming’s eyes turned sharp as he thrust his palm toward Gao Yuerou, creating a pulling force.
Instantly, Gao Yuerou felt her feet freeze, unable to take another step. The sight of Tang Ming’s eyes sent a chill through her heart.
Gao Yuerou’s voice trembled. "What do you think you’re doing?"
"What do you think I’m doing?" Tang Ming snapped. "You’re coming with me to Celestial Moon Peak for a while."
With that, Tang Ming flicked his hand. A purple silk ribbon shot out, snaking toward Gao Yuerou’s body like a venomous viper.
Then, a streak of purple light flashed by, and the two vanished from Cyan Cloud Mountain.
"Is Tang Ming really going to...?"
"That’s too brazen! Tang Ming is just too arrogant!"
"But what can anyone do? He’s the Pavilion Master’s youngest disciple. Even though he doesn’t have an official title yet, it’s only a matter of time before he earns one."
........
The crowd was abuzz with discussion, the initial shock yet to fade, when a moment later, a streak of dark light shot back from the direction Tang Ming had vanished.
A closer look revealed that it was Tang Ming. For some unknown reason, however, he looked utterly disheveled and panicked.
After landing, Tang Ming stared straight ahead and bellowed, "What do you think you’re doing? Zhang Xiaoyun, do you have any idea that I am a Direct Disciple of Taiyi Pavilion?!"
A figure slowly emerged in the distance. She wore light blue robes and a cloud-like chignon, with faintly red lips and eyes as clear as autumn pools. Her fair, delicate face was utterly devoid of expression, and the aura around her seemed to be rapidly converging inward.
It was Zhang Xiaoyun!
Beside her stood Gao Yuerou, still shaken from the ordeal.
Zhang Xiaoyun looked at Tang Ming and asked with a frown, "What were you trying to do just now?"
"What was I doing?" Tang Ming laughed at Zhang Xiaoyun’s question, his eyes flicking to Gao Yuerou with a look of undisguised greed.
"You deserve to die!" Zhang Xiaoyun gritted her teeth. The anger in her heart had seemingly reached a boiling point, washing away all her former weakness and timidity.
"Hahahaha, I deserve to die? Yes, I deserve to die," Tang Ming roared with laughter, looking at Zhang Xiaoyun with ridicule. "But so what? Are you going to kill me?"
Gao Yuerou grabbed Zhang Xiaoyun’s arm and said urgently, "Xiaoyun, let’s go back."
Zhang Xiaoyun’s heart pounded violently. She stared at the outrageously arrogant Tang Ming, her teeth making a grinding sound. "Yuerou, step back."
"Xiaoyun..."
"Listen to me."
For the first time, Zhang Xiaoyun’s voice carried an undeniable and infectious resolve.
Gao Yuerou was terribly worried, but upon hearing Xiaoyun’s words, she couldn’t help but take a small step back.
Tang Ming looked at Zhang Xiaoyun, confused. "What’s this? You want to fight me?"
"That’s right!" Zhang Xiaoyun declared.
"Hmph, truly courting death!" Tang Ming snorted.
Staring at Tang Ming, Zhang Xiaoyun’s heart pounded furiously, like a flame had been ignited within her, beginning to burn and boil.
