Ataneya got what Ethan was signaling.

Her twenty-four fox tails stopped maintaining the circular prison and drew back in a smooth retreat, returning to hover behind her.

Ethan took a slow breath.

In the stunned silence of everyone watching, white energy surged into his palm and swelled—fast—until it became an absurdly massive sphere.

The dense glow lit up every nearby mechanical egg like a field of lanterns.

The white mechanical dinosaurs clustered around Ethan all lifted their heads at once, their eyes stripped down to a single emotion:

Hunger.

Ethan raised his hand and pointed at Vexara.

"Go."

"Kill her, and all this food is yours."

The white dinosaurs pivoted in unison.

The Vexara they’d treated as "mother" a moment ago was now just the thing standing between them and a meal.

To these mechanical lives, Ethan was the only one who could actually fill them.

So the "fake owner" trying to control them?

Punishment.

Vexara watched her "children" turning away from her, and for the first time she realized the situation had slipped out of her hands.

She made that strange vibration again.

Faster this time—urgent. The mechanical walls answered with a low, resonant hum.

But no matter how hard she pushed, the white dinosaurs didn’t stop.

They poured past the withdrawn fox tails and began tearing into the formation shield made from the small War Machines.

"What did you do?" Vexara stared at Ethan. For the first time, real panic broke into her voice.

"What did you do to them?"

"Tell me!"

Ethan bent down and casually scooped up a small white dinosaur beside him.

The little thing settled quietly in his arm, letting him stroke the mechanical scales on its head like it was the most natural thing in the world.

"My pets."

Ethan looked up at Vexara.

"How’d they suddenly become yours?"

This resource-starved space had followed the same rule from the start—brutally, honestly.

Resources came first.

The white mechanical dinosaurs were massive in number, and their energy demand was terrifying. To cut consumption, they had to stay dormant inside eggs for long stretches, waiting for enough "food."

Ethan solved that problem the moment he arrived.

And the white lightning that flooded the nest during hatching seeped into every egg, making these newborns familiar with Ethan’s power from their very first waking breath.

Energy.

Scent.

And the person who could feed them.

That was more than enough for them to decide who the real master was.

The formation shield began to crack.

White dinosaurs clamped their teeth onto metal plates. Their foreclaws and newly grown mechanical tails braced and pulled, ripping War Machine pieces out of the array one chunk at a time.

More cracks.

Wider gaps.

Vexara’s steel wings snapped open.

Violent airflow blasted from beneath the plates, shoving the nearest white dinosaurs back. Gun barrels and cannons unfolded across her body. Mechanical structures rose in layers. The massive cannon at her chest flared red again.

One mechanical claw flipped.

A spatial bomb popped out of her palm and dropped toward the floor.

"If you won’t let me live—" Vexara’s mechanical eyes flooded with red.

"Then I won’t let you leave alive either!"

The spatial bomb fell.

The moment it touched anything, its power would tear this area open—space fissures ripping out like mouths, swallowing everything nearby.

The white dinosaurs on the ground looked up at Vexara, then at the falling bomb.

Enemy.

Food.

The "debate" didn’t last even a second.

Pairs of small mechanical wings unfolded from their backs.

A swarm of white dinosaurs launched off the ground like hornets that had caught a scent, splitting—some diving for Vexara, others streaking straight for the bomb.

The first few reached it and bit down on the bomb’s shell.

More piled on behind them, foreclaws tearing into its structure while their teeth devoured the spatial energy inside.

The bomb never even touched the ground.

It was eaten clean.

The tight knot between Ethan’s brows finally eased.

Resources.

For these things, any energy—attack or defense—was still just food.

One mechanical life might have limited intake.

But a patch of them?

A swarm?

A spatial bomb couldn’t even earn itself the dignity of an explosion.

Ethan stopped paying Vexara any attention.

He lifted his hand and formed another white energy sphere, letting it float lightly in midair.

"Eat her and there’s a bonus."

"Move."

Their master had urged them on.

The white dinosaurs tearing into Vexara surged faster.

Foreclaws ripped at the formation shield in a blur. Teeth latched onto any mechanical structure they could swallow. More dropped from above, treating her gunfire and energy bursts as nothing but snacks.

Ethan gave them one last look—satisfied—then turned back to his companions.

He led everyone upward.

Space opened in front of them. A spatial wormhole bloomed above the nest.

No one hesitated. They entered one after another.

Before leaving, Seraphine and Kaelira thoughtfully left behind three "gifts."

Holy Light Force.

Primordial Death Energy.

And that violent purple-red power.

Each one hovered above the nest, each one radiating pressure strong enough to shake the entire place.

A reward for after the meal.

Just... a reward that was a little too big.

Even if every white dinosaur in the nest worked together, there was no way they could swallow all of it.

The wormhole sealed shut behind the group.

Inside the nest, after a brutal struggle, Vexara finally cleared the attackers off her.

Those white mechanical lives had still come from her nest.

As long as she forced out a self-destruction command, destroying them wasn’t difficult.

The last white dinosaur blew apart and fell silent.

Vexara stood amid a carpet of mechanical debris, panting. Her chest armor and wings were visibly damaged, plates cracked and warped.

She raised a small claw.

A sealed tunnel opened at once.

Only one thought remained in her head.

Get out.

Find Ethan.

Revenge.

Vexara burst through the exit and returned to the gray-black plain.

But the moment her feet hit the surface, she saw the three energies hanging in the air.

They waited there quietly, like they’d been expecting her all along—prepared to welcome her with a "surprise."

Vexara didn’t even have time to turn.

The three forces moved together, fused in midair, and plunged straight into her body.

A crisp, brittle crack rang out through the space.

The surrounding structure began to erase—like reality was being rubbed away.

Vexara screamed.

Mechanical armor and organic flesh collapsed from the inside at the same time.

BOOM!

She met the same ending as the white dinosaurs.

In a space that was steadily vanishing, she was reduced to dust and fragments—gone.

On the other side, Ethan stepped out of the wormhole first.

There was no ground under his feet.

After two steps, his body dropped—fast—plummeting into open air.

Seraphina instantly restored her dragon form, sweeping up from below and catching Ethan cleanly on her back. One by one, the others landed as well, gripping scales and straps as she stabilized in the sky and adjusted her course.

Feylora didn’t rest for a second.

As she absorbed whatever power she could from the environment below, she kept sending green energy into the teammates who’d just fought, replenishing them as she went.

Inside Ethan, the four little ones popped out one after another.

Everyone stood on Seraphina’s back and stared down.

A dense canopy carpeted the world. Wet mist flowed between trees. Countless vines hung from high branches, so thick it completely erased any trace of the desert they’d just left behind.

"Rainforest?" Ethan gaped.

"I swear it was a desert a second ago."

"How the hell did it turn into a rainforest in the blink of an eye?"
