The doorway didn't wait for anyone to finish reacting to the first front.
All three signatures went blue at once, and then they weren't three separate things anymore.
They folded together — not merged, not stacked, folded, the way paper collapses along a crease it was always going to take — and where three uncatalogued threshold signatures had stood a half-second earlier, something else stood now. Taller than a copy. Steadier than one, too. It didn't drift.
It walked.
Twenty-nine free copies scattered from its path without any visible signal telling them to, the same reflexive give-way Kagetsu had seen crowds do around someone important, except none of them were people and none of them had been told anything.

[Talent Card: Divergent Expression — Live Analysis]
World: Bleach
Quality: Epic
Status: Critical
Finding: Doorway unison event complete. New entity signature: 61% match to the reshaped twelfth-copy vessel, 0% match to split-faced figure, 0% match to copy-baseline. NOT identical to the fourth signature — related, but distinct.
Recommendation: Two separate hostiles now confirmed on two fronts. Colony capacity for further live analysis is degrading under simultaneous load.
---
"Two of them," Kagetsu said, out loud, because saying it made it real enough to act on. "Not the same thing twice. Related, but not the same."
Orochimaru didn't ask for clarification. He was already repositioning, putting himself on the line between the doorway-thing and Rasa's stabilized, unconscious weight against the far wall — the one piece of this fight nobody had time to defend and nobody could afford to lose.
"Then it's not reinforcements," he said. "It's a second problem."
He didn't take his eyes off it long enough to check on Rasa directly, but the angle of his shoulders said he'd already mapped the fastest line between the doorway-thing and that unconscious weight, and would hold it regardless of what else happened in the next minute.
The doorway-thing stopped ten feet in, gaze sweeping the corridor once, unhurried, and settled on the reshaped twelfth vessel like it was greeting family.
"You started without me."
"You took long enough," the vessel answered, still watching Kushina, not turning. "I was starting to think the door only opened one way tonight."
---
Kushina hadn't moved since the vessel's promise. Minato had — closing half the distance between them without thinking twice about the fallback marker three feet behind him, close enough now that his hand could reach her shoulder if it needed to.
"Kushina." Low, steady, the voice he used when a plan was falling apart and he needed her present for the next one instead of wherever her head had gone. "Talk to me."
"I don't know it," she said, not looking away from either signature. "I don't know either of them. But I know the shape of not knowing them, and that's not the same as never having met them. That's—" She stopped.
"That's what."
"That's what forgetting feels like from the inside."
Minato's hand found her shoulder, steady, grounding, the same gesture he'd used a dozen times tonight that had nothing to do with tactics and everything to do with making sure she knew he was still there.
"Then we don't need you to remember," he said. "We need you to trust that not remembering isn't the same as not being ready. You've beaten worse odds than a blank spot in your own head."
"This is different, Minato. This isn't a jutsu I never learned. This is a hole shaped exactly like something that used to be there."
The figure's voice came through the mark to Kagetsu, urgent in a way that skipped past careful entirely.
She's not wrong. And that's worse than if she was.
"Why."
Because nobody forgets something this specific by accident. Not an Uzumaki. Not with training like hers. Something took it from her on purpose, and I don't know who.

[Talent Card: Divergent Expression — Alert]
World: Bleach
Quality: Epic
Status: Degrading
Finding: Simultaneous tracking of both hostile signatures is consuming disproportionate colony resources. Recommend the group's attention divide 1:1 or risk losing real-time data on one target entirely.
Recommendation: Choose which signature to prioritize. The colony cannot choose for you this time.
---
Kagetsu felt the weight of that land on all four of them at once — not a suggestion, an admission. The colony that had never failed to have an opinion, all forty-four trays' worth of accumulated certainty, had just told them it was out of certainty to give.
"Orochimaru takes the doorway-thing," Kagetsu said, before anyone else could. "It's new, it's untested, and he's the only one who's already put a weapon through something like it tonight and lived to learn from the miss."
"And the vessel?"
"Stays on Kushina and Minato. It's not here for a fight. It's here for her. That means it's not going anywhere until it gets what it wants or someone stops it, and either way that's happening close, not at range."
Orochimaru's eyes flicked toward him, weighing the plan the way he weighed everything — fast, silent, already running three steps ahead of the words. "You're assuming it plays fair while we split."
"I'm not assuming anything. I'm saying we don't have a version of this fight where we don't split, so we might as well split on purpose instead of by accident."
"And you?"
Kagetsu's marked arm had gone from numb to burning, the gold overlay pulsing in a rhythm that didn't match his own heartbeat.
"I don't think I get to pick," he said. "Something's already picking for me."
---
The vessel finally turned to look at him.
"There it is," it said again — the same words from Ch. 342, but slower this time, savoring it. "He's starting to feel it. Good. That means it's working."
"What's working."
Orochimaru's kunai was already moving toward the doorway-thing, buying Kagetsu the half-second he needed to focus on the vessel instead of the fight breaking out three feet away. It didn't help. Whatever was happening to him wasn't the kind of thing distance from a blade could interrupt.
"You'll know in about—" It tilted its head, unhurried, like checking a clock only it could see. "Four seconds."
Kagetsu's vision doubled.
Not blurred — doubled, two overlapping views of the same corridor stacked a half-inch apart, one from where he stood and one from somewhere lower, somewhere closer to the ground, looking up at his own face from an angle he'd never occupied in his life.
His knees buckled before his mind caught up to why. Orochimaru's hand caught his shoulder from behind, steadying him without looking away from the doorway-thing, a reflex built from months of exactly this kind of emergency.
"Kagetsu. What do you see."
He couldn't answer right away. The second view kept sharpening, pulling focus away from his own eyes no matter how hard he tried to hold onto them, and somewhere underneath it he could feel his own heartbeat running a half-second behind someone else's.
I did try to warn you, the figure said through the mark, and for once there was nothing careful left in it at all — just something that sounded almost like grief. I'm sorry. I didn't have a version of tonight where I got to protect both of you.
The second view sharpened.
It was looking up at Kagetsu through Kushina's eyes.
Not a memory. Not a vision. Live.
Somewhere, somehow, for reasons the mark hadn't given him time to understand, Kagetsu was seeing himself standing in Corridor Seven — from inside Kushina's own head.
The doorway-thing smiled, and the vessel echoed it exactly, and both of them spoke the same word in perfect unison, one voice layered on itself twice:
"Finally."
