Kazuki walked toward the village gates, spotting his team already waiting. Akari, Yuki, and Ryuma were fully geared up and ready to go.

Kazuki met them and they immediately headed out into the dense forests outside of Konoha. As they jumped from branch to branch, Akari looked back at her genin team.

"I know you're all curious," Akari said, her tone serious. "I'll tell you the details of the mission on our way."

The three of them listened closely as they continued moving at a fast pace.

"This is a very important and difficult mission," Akari explained. "We are going to the Land of Lightning. Konoha's scouts have confirmed that a scientist from a small village there has created a version of the Reanimation Jutsu, just like the one invented by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju."

Akari's eyes narrowed. "Our mission is simple but dangerous, steal and destroy this jutsu and kill the scientist who created it."

Yuki's eyes widened in disbelief. "But how can a random scientist create the Reanimation Jutsu when nobody other than the Second Hokage could do it?"

Akari sighed and replied, "It is probably an imperfect version. But even so, it's still a huge threat. It's classified as a forbidden jutsu for a reason, and we can't let it fall into the wrong hands."

Kazuki thought, 'Reanimation jutsu, huh? Another event that didn't happen in the anime. Let's see how it goes.'

It took the team exactly three days of travel to reach the Land of Lightning. The terrain completely changed upon their arrival. The green forests of the Land of Fire were abruptly replaced by large, sky-touching mountains and deep valleys spread all over the land.

As they moved stealthily along a rocky ridge, Akari stopped.

"We are about to reach the location," Akari told them. She turned to Kazuki. "Kazuki, sense if we are close to a village."

Kazuki closed his eyes, focusing his chakra. After a few seconds, he opened them. "I sense a lot of people in the valley between those mountains ahead." Kazuki points towards a group of mountains.

They quickly moved toward the location Kazuki told them. When they arrived at a high vantage point, they could see the whole village.

Kazuki frowned as he observed the entrance. "The village gates have a lot of guards stationed. How are we going to get in?"

Akari smiled faintly. "It's easy, we'll just use the Transformation Jutsu to get in."

With a sequence of hand signs, the four of them transformed into random, ordinary Kumo citizens. They walked casually down the mountain path and easily got in through the gates without raising any suspicion.

Once they were safely inside and away from the guard's eyes, they stopped in a quiet alley.

"According to the intel, there should be an underground lab around the eastern border of the village," Akari whispered. She then let out a frustrated sigh. "It would have been so much easier if we had a Byakugan user with us."

Kazuki spoke up. "I can try sensing them, but there's a risk. If they have a sensory ninja stationed there, they will know of our arrival."

Akari looked at Kazuki thoughtfully. "Didn't you tell me that your Mind's Eye of the Kagura also has a passive ability where even elite sensory ninjas won't know that you sensed them?"

"Yes," Kazuki replied, nodding. "But it has a very short range, and I can't sense chakra signatures or chakra strength by using it that way."

"We don't need to know that right now," Akari decided. "We just need a location. Let's go."

She led them toward the eastern border of the village, as the area they reached seemed to be more isolated than the other parts of the village.

"Use the passive ability," Akari instructed Kazuki. "Tell me if you sense many people gathering in a suspicious place."

They started to roam around the border to see if people were gathering somewhere hidden.

After searching for a while, Kazuki suddenly stopped. They were standing around a rocky, hilly area with absolutely no houses or residents in sight.

"I sense many people gathering underground right beneath us," Kazuki told Akari.

"How many are there?" Akari asked, her voice dropping to a whisper.

"Around 30 to 40 people, I'm not sure," Kazuki replied.

Akari immediately began looking for the entrance to the lab. As she inspected the rocky landscape, she noticed some hidden seals engraved on the side of a nearby hill.

"Over there," she pointed, walking toward the seals to check them.

Kazuki's passive sensing suddenly picked up the presence of a lot of people inside the hill.

"Sensei, it's a trap!" Kazuki screamed suddenly.

In an instant, several shurikens shot out from the hill, aimed directly at Akari.

Akari easily dodged all the shurikens and landed near her team.

Before the dust could even settle, 10 enemy ninjas burst out from the camouflaged mountainside, drawing their weapons and completely surrounding the team.

'This will be interesting.' Kazuki thought.
