Chapter 219: 219. Food on table.
Chapter 219.
’Wait! Not much is known about Level 5 warriors, Meeva Whiteblayde went into seclusion for a breakthrough and disappeared after her public appearance?’
....
The dots were connecting for Principal Scarlett. An individual who could have become a Level 5 disappeared after the said seclusion. Didn’t that mean she became one?
She became a Level 5 warrior and disappeared like all the other warriors of her level? It seemed to add up.
"Did she become a Level 5?" She muttered in disbelief. Her eyes stared intentionally at Rae, wanting a reply from him.
Was this why he was asking about the long forgotten character of past eras? Or was this really a coincidence?
She stared at him waiting for a reply but Rae didn’t react to that questioning look. Instead, he came closer, sat on the table, looking down on her sitting on the chair as he asked.
"Tell me about this guy she was involved with.." His eyes trailed over her generous bosom, not caring for Scarlett’s reaction.
She looked him in the eye and then back at her chest. It didn’t seem like Rae would answer her so she pushed her already generous bosom forward, allowing him to have a good look before answering. "Oh. He was a famous guy, the strongest of that generation before he disappeared."
She recalled that individual’s fame. The strongest of the upcoming generation was not easy to erase from history. Possibly dead, he was not forgotten.
"Any other details?" Rae leaned in as he asked again. He wanted to know more about this guy who was planning to possess him or at least that Terias guy.
"You will have to check the archives in the library for that." Scarlett leaned back, covering her chest with her hands as she answered.
There were archives in the library of the academy of each generation and the major events. According to her, Rae was sure to find the info he was looking for in there.
"I see." He nodded.
"I shall leave or maybe you’d like to tag along?" As Rae pushed himself off the table, he invited her to tag along. It was not his lust speaking, at least not majorly.
The principal of the academy had more access to certain sections of the library, more than that of Royalty. Bringing her along could be fun and might yield a more favourable outcome as well.
Fortunately for him, Scarlett was not the one to shy away from a young man’s roguish invitation. "I happen to have free time." She smiled as she also stood up from her chair, guiding the way forward for Rae.
She walked ahead of Rae slowly, swaying her hips seductively as he followed from behind, bewitched.
...
"This shelf holds the books of that era." She moved forward, picking out some books for Rae to read while he waited.
"This doesn’t mention much about him? This has some stuff... not enough!" Rae skimmed over the few books, unable to see anything of relevance.
Hearing Rae’s words, Scarlett proceeded to bend over to pick more from the lower shelf. There were quite a few books around, hard to find the specific ones.
Finally, one of the books had mentioned that guy. The guy with red pupils and the undoubtedly strongest of the younger generation. "Hmm. Robin? No surname, a commoner."
But still that didn’t cover enough. It was nearly what he had gotten from the principal.
Rae skimmed through the book "Anything else about Robin?" before pointing to a dark red book in the lowest row. "What’s that one?" The book also caught Scarlett’s eyes as she proceeded to pick that.
"This is new? A spell?" She pointed her official token to the book before picking it up. The red light seemed to be a restriction of some sorts.
"Ah!" Scarlett groaned after being electrocuted. The restrictions didn’t seem to have turned off with her principal token.
Unable to bear the pain, her legs turned jiggly, shaking , her expression changed as if she was an athlete struggling to squat.
Before Rae could come over to help, she faltered and fell on the floor.
’What’s this spell?’ It didn’t do much damage to her body or foundation, a non-lethal spell. However, her nerves were tingling from pain. She could not even stand and finally had to drop the book from her hands.
Unlike her, Rae simply held the book without any after effects. ’Perhaps the effect of decades old spells have worn off.’ He thought as picked the book in one hand before lifting Scarlett with his other hand, lifting her up to place her on the table gently.
She was lying gently on the reading table as Rae checked her vitals in ’detail’. Just like Meeva Whiteblayde had touched his chest, he also slipped his hand under Scarlett’s top before confirming.
She seemed to be okay. The spell only messed with her nerves temporarily.
"So that’s how it is. The red pupil guy." Rae gave a read to the red book as he muttered. This book finally contained the information about that guy.
"What’s this powerful restriction? Even with the authority of the Principal it seems to resist." Scarlett wondered as she was lying on the table.
She was a level 4 warrior with decades of experience and had never seen a tricky non lethal spell like this one. Even though she had negligible chances of breaking through Level 5, her physique could still tank most of the minor spells.
This was an eye opening and embarrassing experience, falling over the floor pathetically from some spell in front of a junior.
’And why did he place me like this on a reading table like he’s serving a dish?’ She was lying on her back, her curvaceous bosom was blocking her front view, unaware that Rae was not checking out her body but reading that book.
She had her cheeks blushing red as Rae slipped his hand under her dress to check her vitals unashamedly. She had felt vulnerable in that instant, unable to move her body properly.
