Karn had been using ’Phantom Haze’ from the Heavenly Thief Technique as a misdirection and instead been using the myriad mirror martial technique to approach the assassins.
Even though his body was unable to be seen, other disturbances could still cause him to be found.
The enemy had seen him use three techniques so far. Stone Skin Technique, Myriad Mirror Technique and Heavenly Thief Technique. The use of these techniques had caused Karn to start breathing slightly heavily.
His status still considered Karn to be a tier 2 peak warrior and yet he was able to cut down two tier 2 warriors of the Dragon Meteor Sect with ease. This was only possible because of his skills and the number of martial techniques at his disposal.
Karn had killed two of the assassins but was stopped short of the third.
The third assassin had turned out to be quite smart and used his martial technique creatively to find Karn’s true body.
The third assassin, seeing Karn’s true body, hurriedly retreated towards Zhao Long.
"Quite the troublesome opponent." The assassin said as he landed next to Zhao Long.
"He has good fundamentals." Zhao Long said as his heroic spirit surged in front of a worthy opponent.
He looked at Karn who had come out of his invisibility.
The two parties stared at each other in silence. The drifting winds carried the leaves between the two.
Zhao Long didn’t move even though he had watched both aides die. His mind was on how the fight had played out and understanding the opponent in front of him.
"Both of you underestimated him," He said quietly, briefly glancing at the headless corpses as he drew the white spear strapped across his back.
"Senior, please get ready." Zhao Long said as he readied his spear activating his martial technique.
White Dragon Spear Technique. One of the signature martial arts personally passed down by the White Dragon Lord. Across Sichuan, few spear arts could rival its might.
The Qi in Zhao Long’s spear underwent a qualitative transformation. The what had been stable qi had suddenly become denser and sharper.
The heroic man looked towards his remaining aide who had survived.
"Fly up and release a heat haze just like before while I take care of him."
The aide with wings made out of fire nodded and flew up. The aide had understood Zhao Long’s intentions. Without the Myriad mirror Technique the old man could be easily disposed of by Zhao Long.
Zhao Long looked towards Karn and moved his spear back like a catapult, his arms bulged with veins popping up everywhere. As his technique activated his strength soared.
While this occurred, Karn had been analyzing the enemy spearman with God’s Eye. The Qi was gathering in immense amounts towards his spear through the arms. The amount of Qi was so immense that the spear resembled what looked like a miniature sun.
’I wonder how high this young man’s stamina is!’ Karn wondered. The amount of Qi a cultivator could employ was directly correlated with the stamina stat Karn had realized during his stat distribution.
The heat haze assaulted Karn’s senses as Zhao Long swung his arm forward like a catapult. The spear shifted forward with immense might but obviously due to the incredible distance between the two it met the air instead of Karn’s body.
The surviving assassin had seen the move countless times before and flashed a smile at the old man in pity.
Karn had seen the move as well but instead of confusion, he had been amazed.
The Qi that had built up inside the spear shot forward towards Karn in lightning speed targeting his temple.
Karn, seeing the Qi lance that would have been invisible to the naked eye pass through the space between them, moved his body using the Heavenly Thief technique just in time to nearly miss the Qi lance. A part of the Old man robes collar that he had acquired from the system were shredded into bits.
A drip of blood fell as it hit the ground. Karn saw the drop of blood and realized... the top part of his ear had been nicked which had drawn his blood for the first time.
"Koko, what an incredible technique." Karn smiled in delight. He had met another strong opponent so quickly.
Zhao Long’s eyes widened in surprise as he saw his technique miss the old man in front of him.
In fact, other than the young masters and some of the disciples of the dragons of the Meteor Dragon Sect had never been able to last more than a single strike against the White Dragon Spear Technique.
Without waiting for the old man to regain enough composure, Zhao Long flexed his elbow and readied the spear once again. The Qi had started building up once again.
Karn saw this and moved immediately as well before another one of those Qi lances was shot at him. Employing the Phantom Haze technique to its fullest extent his speed became phantasmal. The heat haze was still being employed which had led to Karn not employing Myriad Mirror Technique.
Karn’s body split into three as they moved towards their target in unity.
Watching the three figures appear Zhao Long instead smiled lightly and thrusted his arm out once again as soon as the Qi had reached its maximum capacity inside the spear.
"Did you really think I’d fall for the same trick twice?" Zhao Long scoffed.
The Qi lance flew once again from the spears tip towards Karn’s middle body but instead of it targeting one of the clones the Qi split into three as well before shooting towards all of the Phantom Karn’s.
Two of the Qi lances phased through the phantoms of Karn creating a massive indent in the earth but the third Qi lance had landed squarely on Karn’s chest. The old figure that met the Qi lance head on, flew back from the impact landing at the foot of a tree.
Karn survived only because the Stone Skin technique had been activated at the final instant. Even then, the force hurled his body backwards like a rag doll. and due to the Qi lance splitting itself into three otherwise the attack would have been deadly.
Karn’s feet had just touched the ground before Zhao Long’s spear had appeared in front of his face.
’So fast...’ Karn’s pupils shrank.
The attack was already before his face.
