As Karn made his way out of the carriage his focus instantly went towards the hunched back elder. At the same time the elder hunched back elders eyes darted upon him as well.

The tension between them lasted for only a moment before the hunched back elder opened the carriage door and went inside.

"Koko... Strategist Li Xiang. Who is that hunched elder?" Karn asked Li Xiang in interest, his smile fading slightly.

"Senior that elder is the third young master’s personal servant. According to our intelligence he was recruited a few years ago." Li Xiang spoke.

"Koko, I see." Karn followed Xiao Cheng inside the third young master’s carriage.

The carriage, just like Xiao Cheng’s carriage, was much bigger than what it seemed like from the outside.

The aroma of the carriage carried a natural flowery scent that brought calmness to the spirit.

A woman sat on a simple wooden chair with her feet on the table in front of her like a mafia boss. Her hair was tied up in a bun using a jade hairpin but a few strands of hair had escaped in front of her face. Her sect robes were clean, though several tea stains marred the sleeves.

Seeing her brother, Xiao Yu brought her feet down to the floor and stood up gracefully.

As she saw Xiao Cheng she frowned slightly.

"You’re not hurt?"

Xiao Cheng hearing those words come out was befuddled.

"You already knew about the assassination?" Xiao Cheng asked his sister gravely.

"Hehe. No. I only learned about it recently through my intelligence network. I was actually on my way to find out whether you were still alive. Did that old spearman’s disciple get discouraged and decide to not kill you?" Xiao Yu asked while giggling.

"Don’t joke sister. This senior here fought off Zhao Long and his spear arts by himself." Xiao Cheng spoke with respect as he looked at Karn.

Xiao Yu hearing this stopped her giggling and looked at Karn. Ten seconds passed by without either party saying anything before Xiao Yu broke the silence.

"You are blind..." She said in interest.

"Koko, very observant of you young lady." Karn smiled.

"But you don’t behave like one. Hehe." Xiao Yu giggled again for some unknown reason.

"Koko, even more observant." Karn responded.

Suddenly, Xiao Yu grabbed the plate with a pastry on the table and threw it at Karn.

Karn simply moved his body as little as possible to dodge the incoming pastry.

"Sister please stop your little tantrums, you are going to offend my savior." Seeing this, Xiao Cheng sighed and spoke up.

"Wow, you truly can see without your eyes. Tell me how you do it old man!" Xiao Yu ignored Xiao Cheng and clapped her hands with a truly happy expression.

"Koko, you just have to close your eyes young lady." Karn said in amusement. Hearing this, Xiao Yu also giggled.

Xiao Cheng saw this and sighed once again. His sister, Xiao Yu had always been like this. Truly no one knew where this personality of hers had come from. Even the sect head had a headache when dealing with her.

"Hehe, suit yourself then old man." Xiao Yu sat back down on her wooden chair and pulled a tea pot out of thin air.

"Come drink it." She said as she looked at Xiao Cheng.

"I am not thirsty. I need to be on my way to prepare for the incoming succession war. Not everyone can have everything prepared by others... sister." Xiao Cheng scoffed with a little bit of snark in his voice.

"I know. Drink." Xiao Yu’s devilish smile disappeared and a more coldish tone emerged.

"Since when did you prepare this? It is still hot. It’s not poisoned is it?" Xiao Cheng sheepishly said as he picked up the cup of tea.

"Hehe, this is the pot with poison in it. No need to worry." Xiao Yu said as another tea pot appeared in her hand.

A vein throbbed on Xiao Cheng’s forehead before he took a sip. If he somehow died in Xiao Yu’s carriage in the inner city. Xiao Yu would undoubtedly become implicated and personally investigated by the Grand elder of the Dragon Meteor Sect. Xiao Cheng knew this and decided to enjoy the tea with his sister.

As he sipped, the effects became clear to Xiao Cheng. The spirit energy in the tea moved to his dantian and started repairing the cracks but the repair lasted for only a moment before it disappeared.

"Th-This is the spirit renewing tea?!" Xiao Cheng said in surprise.

"Hehe, good at least you recognized it. It will help repair your dantian if you keep drinking it for 30 years. Elder Gian, please provide my dear brother all of the leaves we were able to acquire." Xiao Yu spoke as she glanced at the elder who had called out to Xiao Cheng from before to accompany them to meet Xiao Yu.

"Yes, young lady." Elder Gian who stood beside Xiao Yu responded with respect.

"Sister... Did you bring these leaves specifically for me?" Xiao Cheng said as he drank a bit more of the tea.

"Hehe, nope. I just like the taste." Xiao Yu said but everybody knew she was terrible at lying.

Xiao Cheng stared at the tea leaves in silence. Even with his status as one of the Dragon Meteor Sect’s young masters, he knew exactly how valuable these leaves were.

"You could have simply given them to me without pretending you wanted to poison me." Xiao Cheng’s expression softened for a moment before he quickly hid it behind a scoff.

"Hehe. Then it wouldn’t have been fun." Xiao Yu said helplessly.

"...Thank you, sister." Xiao Cheng responded thankfully.

"Hehe, okay you can go. I want to try some more tea." Xiao Yu shooed Xiao Cheng away with her hand.

Xiao Cheng moved the tea leaves into his storage ring before departing the carriage along with Karn.

Xiao Yu glanced at the door that Xiao Cheng had exited from and then looked towards Elder Gian.

"What do you think?" Xiao Yu asked.

"That old man saw through my disguise." Elder Gian said as his benevolent smile suddenly faded.

"Are you certain?" Xiao Yu’s playful expression vanished.

Elder Gian slowly touched his face, the skin began to ripple and the hunched elder’s appearance melted away, revealing a young man with deep white hair and sharp features.

"Only my master has ever been able to see through this disguise." The young man who was called Elder Gian said with a slight smile.

Xiao Yu, hearing this, stared toward the carriage door.

"Interesting..."
