Old Blind Man in a Cultivation World
Chapter 28: Residence! Old Man’s Cultivation Technique!"Name?" The administrative disciple asked respectfully.
"Karn. Just Karn..." Karn spoke deep in thought.
Hearing this the disciple frowned but wrote the name down in the ledger accordingly.
"Origin?" The disciple asked his second question.
"Crane Village..." Karn replied. He couldn’t possibly say he came from Earth, could he?
Xiao Cheng hearing this also frowned. This new elder of his was too mysterious. He knew there was no Elder Karn in Crane Village until a day ago.
’He isn’t a spy is he?’ Xiao Cheng’s mind wandered somewhere truly dark for a moment. His thoughts spiralled until Xiao Cheng shook his head. Somebody on the strength level of Zhao Long would not be a nobody no matter where he went.
To be a spy with such power would require the elder in front of him to be truly adept at disguise.
But no matter what, Karn could not hide the fact that he was truly blind and that was not something a disguise could cover up. With that thought Xiao Cheng’s thoughts calmed down.
"Cultivation?" The disciple asked his third question.
At this question Karn was also somewhat perplexed. In terms of stats the system still considered him to be a tier two martial warrior, but he was clearly someone who could decimate inexperienced tier two warriors and fight on par with Tier one warriors due to his God’s Eye and numerous martial techniques.
After a bit of thought Karn decided to answer according to his political needs.
"Tier one Martial Warrior" Karn responded.
The disciple’s expression changed slightly. Tier One. Even within the Dragon Meteor Sect, such a cultivation was enough to become an elder.
"Understood, Senior." He immediately straightened his posture.
"Previous Sect?" The disciple continued questioning.
"None. Koko, I have lived in Crane Village all my life." Karn replied.
The young man’s face frowned slightly but decided to stay quiet due to Karn’s cultivation and the fourth Young Master’s authority.
’Another lie.’ Xiao Cheng’s eye twitched and he was left even more baffled. He did not know why but this elder Karn was truly strange.
"And finally... Elder’s martial specialization.." At this question Karn hesitated to reply.
"Specialization?" Karn questioned.
"Yes Elder, for example spear, sword, sabre, fist, body or movement techniques. If you are proficient in the art of alchemy or other arts we need to know that as well." The disciple spoke respectfully.
Karn stood in silence for a moment.
He had used a saber against Zhao Long.
His body was strengthened by Stone Skin.
His movement came from the Heavenly Thief Technique.
He had used Myriad Mirror.
And he had nearly blown Zhao Long away with his Fire Fist.
’Which one am I supposed to say?’ Karn thought to himself.
"None, I have no specialty. I am proficient in all of them or none at all. You can write either." Karn replied in a sage-like countenance.
The disciple did not argue. For someone with Tier One cultivation this level of secrecy was indeed warranted.
The disciple picked up a black and gold insignia of a dragon and respectfully gave it to Karn.
"Senior Karn, this is your honorary elder token."
Karn picked it up and a faint warmth spread through his palm.
"It is connected to the sect’s formation. It will allow you to enter the inner grounds, access your allotted resources, and identify you as an elder of the Dragon Meteor Sect." The disciple introduced.
"Koko... quite fancy." Karn turned the token over in his hand.
"Good, now that your registration is completed. Let me welcome you as an elder of the Dragon Meteor Sect officially. Unfortunately, I have many things to attend to currently so I must leave you but the carriage will take you to your residence as per our agreement." Xiao Cheng spoke.
"Koko, I cannot thank the young master enough for all of the help. I will not trouble the young master any longer then." Karn replied in a respectful bow.
The Elder and the disciples boarded a different carriage that went deeper into the sect. The surroundings became quieter as they delved deeper into the sect.
"Elder Karn, we have arrived." The coachman said respectfully as the carriage came to a stop.
The carriage door opened and Karn stepped down from the carriage.
His God’s Eye immediately sensed the enormous concentration of Qi surrounding the residence.
There was a courtyard, a garden and a private cultivation room. Even a small pavilion overlooking the distant volcano was constructed in the backyard.
Seeing the residence, Karn came to a sudden stop. The mortal servants standing outside the residence were nervously waiting for the elder’s response. They had been tasked with maintaining the residence until an elder was assigned to the courtyard.
"Koko... This old man has made it in life." Karn spoke laughing.
Rei flashed an eyeroll at her master’s ramblings. Shin on the other hand smiled, sharing his master’s excitement.
As the group entered the servants assigned to the residence did their best to handle all matters that the trio required to make themselves home. Rei and Shin got their well deserved shower after a long time.
Karn asked for some tea as soon as he got comfortable.
"Tea again? The elder seems to love tea." One of the servants gossiped with each other. The elder had arrived in the evening and he had already drunk 3 cups of tea by night time.
As Karn finally was able to relax his old body at night as his disciples slept. A deep craving returned, it begged him to experience the thrill to fight strong people once again. He had transmigrated, killed and fought two exhilarating battles all in one day. The dark desires he had pushed deep down since Vietnam had returned stronger than ever.
Due to the cravings, Karn decided to finally cultivate for the first time using the cultivation technique he had received from the system. Old Man’s Cultivation Technique.
Cultivation art: Old Man’s Cultivation Technique
Rank: Black
Restriction: None
Description: A perfect cultivation technique to improve Qi for older individuals, the older one is the stronger this cultivation art shines. Additionally, made to Increase Lifespan the higher levels that are achieved with the Technique.
As Karn operated the technique, the cravings abated and instead his mind focused completely on the rich Qi in the environment.
The moment he activated the Old Man’s Cultivation Technique, the surrounding Qi began moving toward him.
One strand.
Then another.
Soon, the entire courtyard seemed to be flowing toward the old man. Karn’s breathing slowed. The Qi entered his body through his pores and circulated according to the strange pathways described by the technique.
His muscles tightened and his bones trembled. Even his aging flesh seemed to regain a trace of vitality.
’Koko... So this is cultivation.’ Karn thought.
Ding!
Cultivation Technique Chosen!
Fixed - Old Man’s Cultivation Technique
Karn knew what had happened. Once a person chooses to cultivate a certain cultivation technique they are not able to switch to a different technique or else they sacrifice all of the stats gained by cultivation. It was true for all cultivators which was why choosing the correct technique was so important.
Cultivation techniques were hard to find though, so finding a technique at all was a fortune for many mortals whether they suited an individual or not. The only other way to become a cultivator was through body cultivation which required no cultivation technique to advance in martial realms.
