His heightened senses could hear the coins rustle. He could smell the smell of leather. He saw the brute run while holding his belt.
Considering what the young man told him previously it was probable that the young lady had messed with the brute to take what he had from him.
The brute who had run away from Karn and the young lady went back to his lodgings. He had to get out of town as quickly as possible after taking care of his injury. He did not want to make the old man angrier, but when he was about to leave he noticed the pouch of money he had was gone.
’Eh? Where is it? Damn that witch!’ The brute shouted to himself as he watched the innkeeper who was waiting for his payment with a metal bat. Today was not a great day for him to say the least.
Karn, who had no idea what had happened to the brute, decided to check his rewards out while he waited for the young lady (Rei) to get out of her stupor.

This was a decision based less on rationality but emotion. He did not care much for another skill but his newfound ’sight’ was the best gift he could ask for.

’Oho, this is interesting’ Just as Karn saw the upgrade description the ability took effect, his vision that consisted of lines beforehand overlapped with what the real world looked like due to the eye that had manifested on top of his head that nobody could see. Additionally, if he focuses he could see the muscles and meridians of the young lady in front of him. Every muscle that she moved was noticeable to the eye for Karn.
"Are you even listening to me, old man?" The young lady yelled at Karn bringing him out of his own stupor that was mesmerized by his newfound vision.
"Address me with respect young lady, what is your name? Let’s start with that" Replied Karn with mild annoyance looking at her appearance for the first time.
She looked too young to have eyes carrying that much caution. There was dirt on her face, torn sleeves, exhaust written on her face.
Yet she still stood. Her burden had required her to do so.
