Adrian could not believe what he has heard as this meant that these people were the ones responsible for the ruckus in the underwater realm. If the Titan Oceanus’ seclusion was due to their supposed master, then this meant that they really were the ones that pushed everything to become this crazy. From what Adrian was told by the Titan Oceanus, the seclusion was a favor that was granted and there was a clause that thing should happen in his oceans.
If this is the case, the Titan Oceanus can now do something against his other brothers without being condemned. The ones that disregarded the clauses for the agreement are the ones that should be punished after all. They can be punished by the wrath of the oceans and that means the non-aggression pact will be null and void.
To divine beings, agreements are something that can be used against them. This is the reason why having covenants with gods are important when dealing with them. A divine being’s word is their law and if they break their own words then they break their own law. This is why some gods have become very sly with their words because they know that it could be used against them. Even gods and divine beings are not immune to divine punishment if it involves another god.
The fact that these fanatics are spewing it all here meant that they know that no god or divine being would hear them. This place is cut off from the eyes of any gods or divine beings after all. Even the rowdy and noisy voices of the Gods of Life and Death are nowhere to be heard in this place. Adrian was even tempted to create a secret hideout here but he knew that this place must be destroyed.
"Make sure to never give word that our actions led to the uprising of the Followers of the Watery Abyss. If they come running to us for help then make sure to silence them or else our patrons would be hit by the backlash. No one is to say anything about what you have said and it would be better to bury it deep within in your minds." The Grand Mage Fanatic commanded.
"We shall adhere to the words of the leader!" The other acolytes replied.
"There is another thing that needs to be reported, leader." An Acolyte stated as she bowed her head.
"Tell me or else I would not be able to return to my research into the Gates of Tartarus!" The Grand Mage Fanatic stated.
"The Grand Acolyte Stagnant Water has requested more monsters from us. He seems to need it to create a fake monster wave to attack some towns. It is part of the Great Conversion plan that he though of. I told him that we would report it to you before giving any of our supplies." The acolyte stated.
"That wretched boy that only knows how to wag his tongue! Does he believe that he could order me just because Lord Kronus speaks to his mind directly! I have served the Titans far more than him and he is only this arrogant because he has direct connection with our greatest lord." The Grand Mage Fanatic grunted.
The other acolytes did not speak when they heard the words of their leader. Adrian also got some intel that he did not know before as he did not expect that these bunch of people are incredibly chatty when they think that no one can listen in. He learned that there is a Grand Acolyte named Stagnant Water and that he is the direct communication with the Titan King Kronus.
Adrian has basically been given the justification that the Titan King Kronus has indeed been behind some of the things happening in the main world. The only problem is the justification of the solid evidence as the Titan King Kronus is not showing any signs of communication to the mortal world at all. Condemning a divine being as powerful as a Titan is not something that one can do based on mere words.
"I should inform the shadow corps about this Stagnant Water guys. He must be a player based on his name." Adrian thought as he sent a message via the guild chat.
"What should we tell the Grand Acolyte?" The acolyte asked nervously.
"Give him the monsters that are to be tossed out because of their lack of life essence. Since he is treating them as expendables then he would not say anything if we give him those. Just make sure that those to be given to him are not on death’s door. Make sure that they also have the soul brand on them so that the souls of those that will die does not go to the afterlife." The Grand Mage Fanatic stated as he knew that the Grand Acolyte is currently the most favored and should curry favor for now.
"Once I succeed with opening the Gates to Tartarus, I will become the new favorite because I shall be the one that gives the greatest contribution." The Grand Mage Fanatic thought as he told the other acolytes to go back to their tasks.
"Should I try and kill him?" Adrian thought but the Grand Mage Fanatic before him was decked out with robes filled with defensive magic circles.
Adrian could try an assassination but the chances of him succeeding is low. The Grand Mage Fanatic might look defenseless but he actually has the entire room enchanted to supply him with mana. This meant that his barriers are constantly activated as long as he is inside the room. It seems that the Grand Mage Fanatic is also smuggling some of those strange ores for himself.
Adrian needed to do something about the slave collars for the monsters first. If he could deactivate those collars then the monsters would surely revolt. It would be a good distraction to lure away the Grand Mage Fanatic away from this room where he is decked out in magical energy. Adrian also made sure to always be inside the cavern walls as there is constant detection magic activated in the room.
"Why is this one so cautious?! Some of the grand mages I met before do not use such excessive protection inside their own rooms. Does this guy have a problem with trusting others that he is always prepares for an assassination attempt?" Adrian thought but he actually hit the nail on the head.
The beings that have submitted to the Titans are not really individuals that formed a collective group. They are beings that only align with self-interest and they only work together when given direct orders from the Titans themselves. They were a group of beings that only gathered because someone has finally become a bridge to their patrons which is Stagnant Water.
"I found it!" Adrian thought as he saw a powerful cursed object that is a head bust that is blinded and gagged by cursed silk.
The cursed bust only radiates some cursed energy but it definitely is the one that holds the control for the slave collars in this location. Adrian could use this chance to destroy it but he will be detected the moment his stealth is gone. He needed some way to lure the Grand Mage Fanatic for a moment. If the Grand Mage Fanatic exits the room, then he would have a small timeframe to destroy it.
"Sirius, go and destroy a few of the slave collars if you can. Make sure to target the larger monsters first. If you cannot destroy them then you must become the distraction yourself." Adrian commanded as this is the best plan he could think of for the moment.
"As you wish, master." Sirius replied via the soul link as a shadow slipped away from the room of the Grand Mage Fanatic.
A moving shadow could not be easily seen by the beings in this underwater place because they are only being lit up by lamp magic tools. Flickering shadows is not something they focus on when the area is already full of it because of the lamps. Sirius easily returned back to the place where the monsters were currently mining.
Sirius found another cyclops that looked healthier than the one earlier. Sirius tried to destroy the slave collar using shadows but the skill actually bounced back. It seems that destroying these slave collars are not easy even for Sirius’ strength. It would need considerable pure force to break it in one strike.
Knowing that secretly destroying them is out of the picture, Sirius decided with the alternative approach immediately. Sirius emerged from the shadows in his humanoid wolf form and slashed at the slave collar. His sudden appearance and the loud cracking sound of the slave collar caught the attention of all the beings watching over the monsters that were mining.
"INTRUDER!" One of the acolytes shouted but his head suddenly got separated from his neck as Sirius actually managed to kill him in an instant.
