Omega Summoner

Chapter 3019: Under the Sea of Monsters IV

The sudden disablement of the slave collars made the weakened monsters faint while the stronger ones regain their egos. All of the stronger ones immediately flared up and attacked the acolytes and the pirates. They may have somewhat gotten their minds clouded but they knew full well how their bodies operated beyond their will.

They all saw what happened to those that were useless and died on the spot sometimes because of overwork. The monsters still had their eyes working despite the unilateral command over their bodies. They felt like they were trapped in their own bodies without any way to actually survive like a living being. A prisoner trapped in their own skin that can only die when it no longer has any use.

As soon as that prison was destroyed, all of the monsters that could still remain concious despite of the backlash became raging monsters that trampled on their oppressors. The sudden lost of command towards the monsters shocked the Grand Mage Fanatic as this was not supposed to happen. He made sure that the slave collar was tightly bound to a totem that could lock them down and even protected it with several layers of Legendary Tier barriers.

"Do not tell me that someone manage to infiltrate there as well!" The Grand Mage Fanatic thought and was about to fully commit retreating to his study when a powerful entity slammed his barriers.

Sirius could now be seen free from the restraints of the Grand Mage Fanatic but his body is injured. It seems that Sirius struggled free from the mana threads earlier using brute force. He tried turning into shadows but the light mana threads still clung to him which is why he had to twist his own body and bite off the mana threads himself. This made him take some injuries due to self-harm as he needed to do it as quickly as possible as the Grand Mage Fanatic’s attention slightly shifted.

Sirius did not even waste any time as soon as he was freed and tried to attack the Grand Mage Fanatic. The Grand Mage Fanatic was covered in numerous barriers as well which made Sirius’ attack negligible but it also shifted the former’s attention to him. The Grand Mage Fanatic saw that Sirius has escaped but he had no time to deal with him when someone could be in his study at the very moment.

"I did not want to use this but there is no other choice. Rune World: World of Roots!" The Grand Mage Fanatic shouted as a vast amount of mana flowed out of him that swept across the entire cavern.

[The rune territory Rune World: World of Roots has been activated.]

All of a sudden, a powerful wave of energy spread across the area and the ones that were affected most were the monsters that rebelled. Runes suddenly exploded from the ground and held all of the monsters down. Sirius was no exception at all and the runes that held him down were actually more powerful than the ones the other monsters had.

The Grand Mage Fanatic knew that it cannot keep this up forever which is why he planned to make all of the monsters fall asleep for one hour. As long as his Rune Worlds: World of Roots is active, the Grand Mage Fanatic could easily create temporary magic spells placed on any living being. There would be some exceptions on how it worked but the Grand Mage Fanatic never failed applying his runes onto monsters.

"SLEEP!" The Grand Mage Fanatic commanded as the runes that bound all of the monsters activated simultaneously.

The monsters suddenly felt a drowsy feeling and then their souls were calmed down to the point that they all naturally drifted to sleep. The other acolytes and pirates could only stop what they are doing as the monsters are no longer out of control. Even Sirius could feel his eyes starting to go down because he was getting too relaxed by the runes.

The Grand Mage Fanatic did not slack off in applying the runes on Sirius and was determined to make it sleep. Seeing that Sirius took quite some time, the Grand Mage Fanatic then told an acolyte to bring him the cursed totem and investigate his study because an explosion also happened there. The explosion in his study was not that known from the others because they were too caught up in the chaos of what happened to the monsters.

Just as the Grand Mage Fanatic thought that it would only be a few seconds before Sirius finally succumbed to sleep, a foreboding feeling entered his mind. He then brushed it off for a moment as he knew that having this powerful monster in a slave collar would make the harvesting easier. The Grand Mage Fanatic knew that Sirius could destroy the slave collars in one strike and it took a minimum strength of a legendary tier monsters to do so.

"Once you become my pet, I will work you like a dog!" The Grand Mage Fanatic thought as he even took out a different kind of slave collar for Sirius.

The slave collar that the Grand Mage Fanatic took out is different from the mass-produced ones. This slave collar was directly connected to his magic to function which means it will not stop working even if a cursed totem is destroyed. The Grand Mage Fanatic was incredibly determined to have a powerful beast like this at his beck and call.

The Grand Mage Fanatic slowly leaned in to fit the slave collar on Sirius’ neck when he suddenly sensed danger. A sharp spine-tingling sensation suddenly entered his body which made the Grand Mage Fanatic actually instinctively dodge to the right. Even though he was protected by layers of magic barriers, the cold brush of death felt close to him and he was correct.

A scythe suddenly aimed for his neck and this weapon was not stopped by his barriers. All of the barriers that were protecting his body shattered upon impact of the scythe. The instinct to dodge came at a great time for the Grand Mage Fanatic as only his left ear was sliced as a result instead of his head. When the Grand Mage Fanatic lost some focus, the runes suddenly became somewhat dim and most of the monsters that were captured were released.

"Tch! This is why I hate perceptive people." Adrian’s cold hollow voice sounded as he did not expect that the Grand Mage Fanatic would be able to dodge his attack with ease.

Adrian complained about perceptive people when he is actually at the top of that list himself. He knew how troublesome it was to deal with people like him but he still complained just because he wanted to. As soon as the Grand Mage Fanatic dodged the attack, he then wrapped himself in runes and vanished from his current location.

The Grand Mage Fanatic reappeared a few meters away as if he traveled via space but Adrian knew what he did. The area is basically a magical territory established by a Grand Mage and this is their secret skill that imitates a domain. The entire territory is basically covered in runes that the Grand Mage Fanatic could use it to rewrite some laws of the area.

This is the first time Adrian has seen a mage this unique and could bend the rules. A Rune Mage that reached Grand Mage status is not something that can be done by anyone. The being before him has great understanding of laws and causality. The battle will not be easy because the being before him has absolute control of the area and he himself knew that he cannot break it without great force.

"Chaos Reaver!" Adrian stated as his scythe got covered with chaos energy and he swung it to release a powerful wave of chaos energy that literally sliced through time and space.

"Absolute Runic Protection!" The Grand Mage Fanatic shouted in response as a vast number of runes swirled around him to create a reinforced barrier.

The only problem for the Grand Mage Fanatic is that Chaos Reaver is an attack that ignores defenses by 20%. This meant that even the absolute kind of protective barrier will still be pierced through. Along with Adrian’s newly upgraded title, an additional piercing power was added to the skill which can only negate half of it.

The Grand Mage Fanatic suddenly felt that blocking the hit was not the best idea. A slice in space tore through the absolute protection promised and a sharp energy wave sliced through the other magic barriers the Grand Mage Fanatic was covered with. In the end, the Grand Mage Fanatic coughed up blood because he got hit by the attack in some capacity.

"Monster! So, you want to save your fellow monsters! Well, you only walked into my trap!" The Grand Mage Fanatic shouted frantically as more and more mana gathered unto his staff.

"When did I become a monster?" Adrian suddenly thought despite the situation.
