Chapter 398: Killing The Snowgrave Dragon

"You’re just as insane as I am, I see," Orion laughed, a hint of respect in his voice; "ALRIGHT, YOU WIN THIS TIME!"

Orion knew that staying here even for a few more seconds would seal his fate in this event and eliminate him from the competition, robbing him of any chance at victory.

There was no point in being stubborn and trying to fight, especially with such a powerful spell coming down that would annihilate everything in its path without mercy.

Because although the dragon’s forbidden spell was something he could tank due to his resistance to ice, this meteor wasn’t something he could survive no matter what he did or how he tried to defend himself.

If he was hit by it, no, if he was even within a kilometer from the impact, he’d die, even if he was in the air and flying away at full speed.

That was the strength Celestial could conjure, and he would make sure to remember it for future encounters, respecting the power he possessed.

Dodging some massive ice spike and snow pillars coming from above, Orion rushed toward the domain’s barrier to avoid the meteor impact, his wings beating furiously as he pushed himself to his limits.

"Oh wow, he gave up," Leon mumbled as he saw the angel run away, "He’s smarter than I thought."

That would mean that Leon wasn’t able to kill him as he thought he would but... to be honest he didn’t seem to care much anymore about killing the angel at this point.

All he wanted to do was to end this chaotic event and guarantee his victory, securing the top rewards for himself and his companions.

The snowgrave dragon kept looking up at the meteor, not reacting at all, as if it knew its fate was sealed and there was nothing it could do to stop it, a creature resigned to its end.

Still though, the [Snowgrave] forbidden spell didn’t stop either, unleashing all hell on the domain even as the meteor descended upon them.

Tick! Tick! Tick!

[18 participants remain.]

’Heh... and with my forbidden spell, it looks like only having ten people left by the end is guaranteed,’ Leon thought, satisfied with the outcome.

Regardless, the atmosphere kept growing tenser and tenser as the oblivion meteor rushed forward, its shadow covering the land below.

Only a few seconds before it collided with the ground, it seemed as though the snowgrave dragon finally realized what was happening and what was about to befall it.

It turned its head toward the only player nearby: Leon, and then it unleashed everything it had in a final desperate attack, trying to stop him.

Spikes, beams of ice, snowy aura and pillars, everything erupted around Leon, trying to overwhelm him.

’I can’t die yet...!’ Leon thought grimly, ’Only a few more seconds!’

And so, at that moment, he unleashed his third and last forbidden skill, pushing his body to its absolute limit without any hesitation.

BERSERK!

In an instant, Leon’s entire being was fueled with aura, and his combat power doubled, filling him with such power that no level 100 being could even hope to stand before him, his body crackling with energy.

Of course, that meant Leon would pass out within 3 seconds if the skill’s effects ended, but he had learned something about it before: if he died before berserk ended, he would wake up as if nothing happened, meaning he could bypass the backlash entirely.

Fwoosh!

Leon moved at blinding speed around the domain, dodging everything that came his way with impossible reflexes that defied belief.

Of course, the dragon’s forbidden spell’s pillars still hit him since he couldn’t dodge their coldness, the freezing aura washing over him.

But his constitution was also doubled, meaning that he could tank all of it without any issues, the cold failing to slow him down.

SLASH!

Leon slashed at the dragon’s body with the entire force of his being, but he was met with the same transparent ice barrier from before.

This time though, the barrier was no match for his increased power.

Crack! BAM!

Leon’s power was so strong that it could literally demolish this barrier in one-shot, shattering it into pieces.

The dragon released an icy breath, which Leon dodged, because though he couldn’t be harmed by this thing, he didn’t want to risk freezing either and lose mobility.

He didn’t need to worry too much about it though, because the real threat was already on its way.

And so only one and a half second after he activated [Berserk], the [Oblivion Meteor] reached the ground with devastating force.

Leon’s grin widened even more as the meteor crashed directly on top of him and the dragon, the impact shaking the very foundations of reality.

BOOOM!

The explosion that followed was devastating, shaking the entirety of Iris’ domain, even beyond the barrier she had set up to contain the event.

A few players that were not close to the closing barrier, even though they were pretty far from the meteor, still died from the shockwave that followed, their bodies torn apart.

Tick! Tick! Tick!

[13 participants remain.]

As expected, only those that remained at the very edges of the barrier survived, and even then, a few were still injured from everything that happened.

This included Violet, who had escaped both forbidden spells by a hair’s length, her wings barely carrying her to safety.

But of course, Leon had not been so lucky with his own survival.

Ding!

[You have died.]

Leon had died from his own spell’s power, his body crushed by the meteor’s impact, and though all other players would immediately be sent back to the [Imperial Kingdom] if that happened to them, it didn’t for Leon.

Instead, after only a second of darkness, blue aura surrounded his squished body parts and revived him, bringing him back to his full form as if nothing had happened.

And of course, the moment Leon revived and opened his eyes, the first thing that appeared before him was the notification he had been waiting for.

Ding!

[You have defeated "Snowgrave Dragon (Mana Monster Boss)"]

’Hell yeah, of course it couldn’t survive this,’ Leon grinned, his heart swelling with satisfaction.
