Online Game: I Have A 100% Drop Rate
Chapter 399: 1,000 Mana Points, End of Excursion And LeaderboardLeon looked ahead in the giant crater that had been formed from the meteor, and the dragon’s bloodied and squished body was right there, completely destroyed.
After a few seconds it turned into blue particles that rushed directly toward Leon’s [Mana Storer] jar, the energy flowing into it.
It kept filling and filling with the mana points from the boss until it reached capacity and could hold no more.
Beep!
[Mana Points: 1,000]
[Your "Mana Storer" jar is unfortunately full, but due to the nature of this achievement, you are allowed to send the rest to a specific target of your choice.]
Leon’s eyes widened at the sight, and he immediately knew who to choose without any hesitation.
"RainbowDragon," Leon immediately said, "Send all the points to her."
[Very well, sending 362 Mana Points.]
The small blue orbs stopped moving toward Leon’s jar and instead all began to rapidly rush toward another direction, flying across the domain toward Violet.
’Violet told me she had 479 Mana Points, and with the ones she gained just now... she’s definitely in second place!’
That meant they had managed to not only take first place from Orion, but also second place, securing the top rewards for their group.
[I know the time is not finished yet, but I believe that everything is over and there’s no point in waiting any longer.]
Suddenly, a panel appeared in the sky, replacing the timer that had only a few minutes left, its glowing letters announcing the end of the event for all to see.
[Then it seems it is time to end the "Excursion" and declare the winners.]
Immediately, every player’s body who was still alive after all this time turned into glowing particles, their forms dissolving as they were teleported away from the domain.
A few celebrated while others simply groaned in disappointment at their performance, knowing they had missed out on the top rewards.
There were only 13 participants left after all, meaning that after all this time of brutal competition, pretty much everyone still alive would receive one of Iris’ rewards except three unlucky souls.
Leon’s body also began to turn into particles and his vision went white as he was pulled through the teleportation stream.
And after a few seconds of weightless travel through the magical currents, the world reformed around him.
"You’re all back!"
He heard a voice, one that he recognized, and he opened his eyes to find himself in the [Imperial Kingdom]’s castle’s garden, the familiar surroundings greeting him.
Everyone who failed the event was teleported out of the castle’s garden and back to the kingdom’s streets, and now, only 13 people remained inside the garden, standing on the manicured grass.
Among them was Emilia, Violet, Orion, the two lizard-race players he had seen before, one of the insect-race players and a few more whose faces he didn’t recognize.
But of course, as Leon looked around and scanned the crowd, his expression turned grim and his heart sank slightly; Celeste wasn’t among the people who survived and made it to the garden.
Instead, he opened his friends list and saw she had sent him a message, and it was only a few minutes old, confirming his fears.
[UndyingPhoenix: I died from the dragon’s forbidden spell and got frozen, my bad :(]
[Celestial: Its fine, me, Emilia and Violet are still alive and we got the top spots.]
[UndyingPhoenix: Good job, I’ll be waiting outside the garden when you guys come out!]
Leon had believed that all of them had been alive and survived the chaos, but unfortunately fate couldn’t be this good to all of them at once.
[Snowgrave] was indeed a terrifying forbidden spell after all, as even one false move could kill you instantly, and Celeste had been caught by its icy grasp.
But while he was thinking about that and processing his emotions, Iris made her appearance.
"Congratulations to all those that survive, truly a feat, since this event was meant to kill all of you," Iris grinned as she appeared, still sitting on Zarek’s shoulder, her expression one of genuine amusement, "I enjoyed watching it all unfold though, it was quite entertaining."
Iris tapped the air with her staff, and a giant panel appeared once more, slowly revealing the leaderboard one by one for everyone to see.
[Excursion Leaderboard:]
[1. Celestial: 1,000 Mana Points.]
"Heh, expected," Leon grinned, satisfied with his performance.
"He managed to defeat the snowgrave dragon, and the only reason he doesn’t have more than that was because the jar has a limit," Iris clapped her hand, her voice filled with admiration, "Truly a feat!"
Then the second place appeared and the tension in the air grew thicker.
[2. RainbowDragon: 841 Mana Points.]
"WHAT?!" Orion shouted, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief, "But... how?!"
He had 806 Mana Points, which would certainly have been enough to grant him second place and the rewards that came with it, and yet he had been overtaken.
"Due to the fact Celestial’s jar was maxed out, he was given the choice to send some of the dragon’s mana points to someone, and he gave it to the girl," Iris shrugged, "Its the rules, nothing I can do about it."
"Bullshit!" Orion gritted his teeth, his fists clenching, "But that means that I..."
[3. GoldenAngel: 806 Mana Points.]
"You were overtaken at the last second," Iris spoke with a wide smile on her face, enjoying the drama very much, "Too bad, the top 2 reward is incredible and you just missed out."
"Haha..." Orion held his own head with his hand, a manic smile appearing on it, "Very well, I suppose that’s how it goes."
The rest of the leaderboard followed, listing the remaining participants and their scores, but unfortunately, Emilia was not in it, she was one of the three players still alive but getting no reward for her efforts.
Thankfully though, the fact Leon and Violet overtook the two top spots made up for it more than enough in their eyes.
"Well, here’s your rewards," Iris smiled as she swung her staff, and ten chests appeared out of thin air, each one glowing with a different color and aura.
The chests floated into the air before rushing toward their respective owner, landing at their feet with a soft thud.
"These are not normal treasure chests, meaning that the rewards in there are already decided by me," Iris winked, "Though of course, the higher your place, the better the reward, but of course, only the owner can open the chest and claim the items, if anybody tries... it won’t end well."
That was a safety mechanism to guarantee that every winner got their own reward and no one could steal from them.
Leon grabbed his chest, it shined with a golden color, and for some reason, he felt an icy aura around it, as if it was holding something related to the dragon he had defeated.
"Well then, see you, it was fun!" Iris grinned before she swayed her staff, and both her and Zarek teleported out, leaving the players in the garden by themselves with their chests.
The two other players beside Emilia simply walked out, dejected and disappointed, leaving the garden without a word.
Meanwhile, the elf simply walked toward Leon and Violet, who placed their reward chests on the ground in front of them.
"Here we go, then," Leon took a deep breath as he opened his own, eager to see what the top reward held for him.
