Chapter 445: The Level 6 Monster Tide

As hundreds of monsters appeared from the very first rift that opened several miles from the Requiem Stronghold, the Requiem Guild was the first to move, their bodies blurring as they launched themselves toward the enemy with practiced precision and overwhelming force.

Leon on the other hand remained standing at his spot, his feet planted firmly on the ground, with Celeste, Emilia and Violet positioned by his side, watching the chaos unfold before them.

"Shouldn’t we fight?" Violet asked, her rapier humming with icy energy as she gripped it tightly, "You said that you would need to take full advantage of your talent so..."

"Not yet," Leon shook his head as he pointed forward, his eyes fixed on the rift, "Observe."

For some strange reason only one rift had appeared even though based on the vortex in the sky, there should have been hundreds of them tearing open the fabric of reality.

Meaning that this rift was simply an introduction to what most should they expect next, a preview of the carnage to come.

Basically: it was perhaps their one and only time of safety where they could observe the monsters and understand their capabilities without being overwhelmed.

And so they did as they watched all the different type of beings emerge from the rift, their twisted forms pouring out like a never-ending tide of destruction.

"Strong," Violet mumbled, her eyes narrowing as she assessed the creatures, "But... clearly not enough to pose a real threat to us."

’Not just that,’ Leon thought, ’These monsters... they’re from other dungeons, aren’t there?’

He took notice of that because of the fact the [Frost Golem] was here, though he didn’t recognize the other two.

’Dungeons across all higher domains, then, as well as other monsters specifically summoned for this.’

Of course, if any of the players or natives in the Requiem Stronghold tried to challenge these things, even those that spent many years in the Higher Domains would struggle or even die against their coordinated assault.

But to Leon’s group, these were literally nothing, each of them able to one-shot them without even breaking a sweat, their power far surpassing these initial monsters.

And the same could be said about the Requiem Guild, who had already begun their assault with devastating efficiency.

Cavin was the first to strike, his fists crackling with energy as he punched through a Hulking Beast.

The creature’s body exploded into several pieces before it could even register the attack, while Empress moved like a silver blur, her spear piercing through three Frost Golems in a single thrust, their bodies crumbling to the ground.

Granite, the massive stone-skinned warrior, charged headlong into the horde, his greatsword carving through Abyss Crawlers like they were made of paper, his brutal strength sending bodies flying in every direction.

While Mortis raised his staff, and from the ground beneath the monsters, skeletal hands erupted, grabbing at their legs and holding them in place for the others to finish off.

Blaze and Ember, the fiery twins, moved in perfect synchronization, their twin blades leaving trails of fire in their wake as they cut through the monsters with fluid grace.

Their attacks were complementing each other so perfectly that it seemed like they were dancing through the battlefield.

The beastman with the wolf’s head tore through the horde with his bare claws, his feral strength and speed making him a blur of motion.

And the ethereal woman floated above the battlefield, raining bolts of pure mana down upon the monsters below, each one striking with pinpoint precision.

The heavily armored man with the tower shield and mace formed an immovable wall, his shield deflecting attacks from all directions as he crushed anything that came near him with brutal.

The dwarf with the massive axe swung his weapon with gleeful abandon, each swing cleaving through two or three monsters at a time, his laughter echoing across the battlefield, while the man with mechanical limbs fired his shoulder cannon, the explosive shells tearing through the horde and leaving craters in the ground where monsters had been standing moments before.

The obsidian-skinned woman reached out her hands, and streams of liquid fire erupted from her palms, washing over the monsters and reducing them to ash.

The other Requiem Guild members also fought fiercely, each of them displaying the sheer power they had.

All of this was within twenty seconds, and once all the monsters died, the rift closed fully, the energy dissipating into the air.

’So these are my opponents,’ Leon thought with a faint grin, ’Good, I think I can manage just fine if everything goes accordingly.’

"Good job everybody," Cavin applauded his companions, his voice carrying across the battlefield, "But from now on... make sure you stay alive no matter what, if the situation gets too complicated, rush to Yanzi so that she can heal you."

They all stared at a small woman holding a golden staff in her hand, a healing aura emanating from her in gentle waves that seemed to wash over the nearby fighters.

"I’ll keep buffing you all in the meantime while I fight," Yanzi smiled, her voice warm and reassuring, "Lets do this!"

And at that moment, the sky erupted into chaos.

BOOM!

From the vortex above the sky, it wasn’t just one, but dozens of lightning strikes erupting and hitting all around the requiem stronghold, each one opening a rift from which hundreds of monsters came from, the ground trembling beneath the weight of their arrival.

At that moment, a few of the players and natives inside of the Requiem Stronghold finally managed to exit, getting ready to battle the horde that now surrounded them on all sides.

"Alright," Leon took a deep breath, his sword and staff glowing in his hand as he looked at the girls, "Now we can fight, unleash everything you can at them."
