Violet nodded, and she dashed forward, swinging her rapier in a wide arc to freeze over a dozen of monsters in place, their bodies encased in ice before they could even react.
Then she turned around and unleashed her Inferno Breath skill, a torrent of draconic flames erupting from her mouth to burn dozens of other monsters at once, their screams filling the air as they were consumed by the fire.
Emilia spun her scepter and pointed it forward, unleashing her [Divine Wrath] skill, a terrifying beam descending from the heavens to evaporate around fifty monsters at once, the light so bright that it forced those nearby to shield their eyes.
"H-Haha, this is too strong," Emilia beamed with pride at her strength, her eyes wide with exhilaration, "Maxed out skills really are something else!"
But even her other skills did amazing due to the sheer amount of her Spirit stat, anything she launched able to overwhelm other monsters with devastating efficiency.
As for Celeste, she had hesitated for a few seconds, her grip on her spear uncertain, and Leon simply placed his hand on her head and pointed forward, "Remember what we did, and you’ll be able to win."
A [Dusk Reaver] with 10,000,000 Combat Power rushed toward them, its massive claws raised to strike, and Celeste took a deep breath, piercing with a single step, the tip of her spear embedded with her [Darkness Ember].
Usually, Celeste’s strength would be nowhere near enough to kill this thing, the gap in raw power far too large for her to overcome through normal means.
But unfortunately for the monster, Celeste’s attack had directly been aimed at its soul, killing it instantly as the darkness consumed its very essence.
She continued with that speed, killing many others monsters one after another in a single strike, each one falling before her spear.
She also launched her [Darkness Ember] in a wide arc whenever she could to hit enemies far from her, the dark flames consuming them before they could even approach.
’Good, that training was worth it, it seems,’ Leon thought, watching her with approval.
Leon had focused on how much of her Darkness Ember that Celeste should use each time during their training sessions.
She previously went all out, which exhausted her after only a few attacks, but now she could control it, allowing her to go for a very long time without tiring.
And finally, there was Leon, who looked around at all the chaos unfolding around him, his eyes scanning the battlefield with a calm intensity.
All around, the scene was one of utter pandemonium.
Thousands of monsters clashed with players and natives, their roars and screams filling the air.
The Requiem Guild members continued to kill hundreds of monsters with brutal efficiency, their coordinated attacks carving through the horde like a hot knife through butter.
But even then, dozens of other rifts still appeared to release more monsters, their numbers seemingly endless, a never-ending tide of destruction.
Many players fell, overwhelmed by the strength of the monsters that swarmed them from all sides, their bodies torn apart by claws and fangs, their screams cut short.
Some monsters even reached the walls of the Requiem Stronghold, their massive forms slamming against the defenses.
But the people in the towers killed them using the structures that the requiem guild had ordered to be built, the magical turrets and ballistae firing bolts of energy that tore through the creatures with devastating precision.
"Level 6 Monster Tide..." he mumbled to himself as he looked at all this, his eyes narrowing, "This... doesn’t feel right."
Leon had never faced a Monster Tide like this, but if this was all it was, then there was no reason for the Requiem Guild to be so careful, as all the monsters only had between 7 million to 10 million combat power right now, far too weak to pose a real threat to the guild members.
A monster tried to attack Leon at that moment, its massive claws swinging toward his head, but he simply swung his sword vertically, killing it in one easy strike, its body collapsing to the ground.
Ding!
[You have killed "Dusk Reaver" and gained...]
[100% Drop Rate has triggered...]
"Well, at least it works still," Leon smiled as he opened his [Storage Space], his eyes scanning the loot that had appeared.
[Dusk Reaver Essence: Consuming will Increase Spirit by 1,000 and Agility by 300.]
[Reaver Scythe (Legendary)]
[x1 Skill Stone]
Leon almost choked as soon as he watched the items, his eyes widening in disbelief.
’Holy shit, this might be the best monster essence I’ve had yet from a normal monster that isn’t a boss... and it also dropped a Skill Stone!’
Leon looked around at the thousands of monsters all around him, and a massive smile appeared on his face, the sheer potential of it all overwhelming him.
Some people fighting near Leon looked at him as if he was crazy, their expressions a mix of confusion and concern.
And for some reason, it felt as though they heard him say: "They’re all attribute points...!"
Slash! Slash!
Leon cut through several other monsters with effortless precision, his blade carving through their forms like they were made of paper.
And much like the first one, they all dropped amazing items, in addition to a very powerful monster essence that made his eyes widen with satisfaction.
[Shadow Wraith Essence: Consuming will increase Spirit by 1,200 and Constitution by 400.]
[Abyss Stalker Essence: Consuming will increase Agility by 1,100 and Strength by 500.]
[Frost Tuskbear Essence: Consuming will increase Constitution by 1,300 and Spirit by 300.]
Leon sold all the items he had that he didn’t need, his storage space filling and emptying rapidly as he cycled through the loot, and this kept going for around fifteen minutes of relentless combat.
More and more rifts were being closed, and more were being opened, the cycle seemingly endless, but still, even though many players and natives fell, those that remained were those strong enough to fight and survive.
The Requiem Guild, as well as Leon and the girls were those that were doing the most damage to the Monster Tide, their attacks carving through the horde with devastating efficiency.
And once half an hour passed, the atmosphere shifted dramatically.
BOOM!
A terrifying shockwave erupted from the vortex above the stronghold, the force of it shaking the very ground beneath their feet.
’Here it comes,’ Leon thought, ’The second wave.’
